Thank you!! We’d been excited for it to come out too, it’s awesome to see light weight eMTBs coming down in price - almost cheap enough for us mere mortals to afford haha!
@@99spokes yeah man looking forward to it! Speaking of, I think I’m finally making my Oregon road trip. Planning on being in Bend next Monday actually. Are you guys going to be around for some afternoon riding at all?
Let’s not overlook that the carbon footprint of creating carbon frames is way higher than alloy frames, so that may also be factor into the decision for those who are concerned about that kind of thing.
Carbon footprints is scam bullshit your government cooked up to take more control. You realize plants require carbon dioxide to grown , thus producing oxygen? Guess who needs oxygen to live? Our planet has become 35% more greener because of carbon increases. Man’s impact is so small that a solar flare just one solar flare can affect our temperatures 10000% more than anything we do. And yes I’m a scientist
I had a chance to write a carbon version of this at a bike shop that I work for just the other day made a video of it just to show the stoke the spike does require you to not just motor it up the hill like a motorcycle you actually get to ride it like a mountain bike and have a great time doing it
Hi and thank you for the video but for a beginner like me. who doesnt really do tracks. but more of a sporty/offroad ride to go home from work. is the specialized turbo levo SL a better buy then over the EXe8 ? thanks ! :D
The Turbo Levo and EXe8 are pretty similar in that regard. If you’re looking for essentially a trail-capable commuter check out the Specialized Turbo Tero X. I have a friends who have purchased them for situations that sound similar to yours and they’ve been really impressed! Check it out here: 99spokes.com/bikes/specialized/2023/turbo-tero-x-5.0
Im not a big fan of the turbo tero X the looks of it are awfull imo. Looks like an old man bike :D for now the levo SL looks better for me since it costs 4100 euro here. but still thanks!@@99spokes
According to TQ's website, I believe so. Here's what they say: "When riding without motor assistance, the HPR50-equipped e-bike behaves like an analog bike. The reason for that are specifically developed freewheel sprags which completely disengage from the whole motor and transmission."
@@99spokes yeah cool, that is theory … but its bit interesting that there is tuns of test and overviews a reviews but nobody really dives in the scario of biking without battery( off course it is made to ride with battery) but in scenario of travelling it is very important to know what to expect from bike for 10k $ +
The the Levi SL was completely updated earlier this year and has a much stronger motor and better specs than the first generation bike referenced in this video. I am a lifelong Trek fan but there is no way I’d choose the much less powerful Fuel EXe over the Levo SL…
Nope, no dishonesty or sponsorship endorsement here! You’re right in saying the new Levo SL and the SL 1.2 motor that were launched a couple months ago are both killer! But they did not release an alloy version of this bike. Here’s a link to the only alloy Levo SL specialized sells: www.specialized.com/us/en/turbo-levo-sl-comp/p/154888?color=263663-154888. Cheers 🤙
I recently purchased them to upgrade an old pair of Codes I had and I’ve been impressed by them too! That said I really hate how the master cylinder looks lol, so bulky! But that’s just being picky
quality vids dude! I've been waiting to see the alloy version of the exe!

Josh great to see you on 99 Spokes! Go get ‘em!
Thank you man 🤙 Just another reason why I need to make it up to Bellingham! I’m sure we’ll be riding together soon

That’s true! I actually talk about that in our latest video on frame material, check it out!

You’re right. Also, the aluminum footprint of the aluminum frame is greater than the aluminum footprint of the carbon frame.

That’s awesome, I love that about this new generation of eMTBs; they actually feel like mountain biking!
Josh is a great presenter. I wish he was teaching my advanced calculus class.
Haha thank you, but no, you definitely don’t want that! I barely squeaked past algebra 😂

I love the bike! I tried one out and it was awesome
Nice! What was your favorite thing about it?
@@99spokes how adjustable the geo was.
if you choose to ride it without battery ... is it really just take out a battery and go ?
