It is dreadful. I would hate to have that experience too. Unless there are big legal changes situations like this are only going to get worse. It appears it's not unusual for people who get top surgery but keep their male genitals, so at some point a lady or ladies in these spa bathhouses are going to have to navigate seeing people in that state. Which could be an even bigger shock to be faced with.
Not only that, but CHILDREN go to these spas with their parents sometimes... It's common in Asian cultures to take your children to these spas and I bet some people here in America like taking their kids there too.. it's terrifying

I don't expect people to accommodate me whatsoever, and I'll go out of my way to stay out of situations where someone might have to. No one should be required to accommodate other people's personal choices.

As a woman who was sexually abused by a man in my childhood, if I had walked into the locker room like that poor lady at the spa, I would have screamed and called the cops. It would have turned into a full blown panic attack and a BAD situation for me. I honestly give her full credit for just running because I couldn't have handled that. I absolutely would 1000% have been thrown back into my trauma. I know that just from how my body began to respond to her telling her story - my heart started racing, my breathing picked up, and the pit in my stomach as soon as I knew where it was potentially going...if that reaction happens without experiencing it firsthand...I can't believe how she managed in the moment. She is a beautiful soul and I'm so sorry she had to experience that.

Me too. This is the same group who also say it's acceptable for men to publicly wear dresses and make-up, not just biological women. "Yall can change in front of me because im not attracted to you." When I was in high school, one of my best friends was a gay boy and another was bi. I definitely changed in a separate room even though I trust them and still do. It's about feeling safe and common courtesy.

@jenmarli77 sadly, due to the spa seemingly being legally bound to accept the trans woman as a woman, I don’t think the lady in the car would have a legal case, even if I suspect the majority would agree she has a moral one. The whole system is screwed up, and businesses like that spa may end up closing as a consequence due to so many leaving.
I used to have long hair and am still a waiter and some customers used to call me ma'am but the second I told them the specials I could tell they knew I was a dude and you know how I reacted? I just smile and keep talking because it Really. Doesn't. Matter.
He came to a restaurant I worked at and was like dealing with a toddler . Besides his regular crap he let his dog eat from his plate at the table. The Japanese couple next to him was horrified. And once he finally left it was like cleaning after a messy child.

No matter who you are, I think it would be uncomfortable if you corrected someone and they then go: “actually you’re wrong.”

As someone who worked in specifically FAST FOOD we most definitely have to use sir and ma’am or we’ll have people on us for not being polite and “mistreating” our customers. I once had an elder gentleman come into the restaurant that I was a manager of and demanded that I call the young teenager running the back window to the front because she “used the wrong tone” and he wanted to “teach her a lesson”. I had a man that looked to be at least in his 60s or older basically threatening a teenager because he didn’t like her tone, this is a worker I know is actually very polite but almost constantly has sinus issues that make her voice sound very flat, I was near the back when she was dealing with that man and she was a lot more polite than some of our other workers but she had the wrong tone and he wanted to teach her a lesson. How in the world would any service worker be able to get away with not using sir or ma’am for any that’s not them and to be honest they would probably flip a lid if the worker didn’t use ma’am for them even if sir wasn’t used either.
I worked fast food and stopped using sir and ma'am because I got it wrong ... these folks weren't trans. Just hard to tell sometimes when taking drive thru orders!

In an emergency situation it definitely needs to have the gender assigned at birth on all documents. It could make a world of difference in the care you would receive. And I’m from Tennessee, too. Same my dude (only difference is that I started transitioning 4 years ago). After a while, I stopped letting misgendering bother me (for the most part) since most people who misgender me genuinely think I’m a female and they’re not trying to be an asshat. And, if they are trying to be an actual, transphobic asshat, then they are not worth my time and I move on lol.

I went out to dinner last night with my sister and the much younger waitress kept calling us “honey”. She was clearly using it to be sweet & nice, so even though I would prefer not to be called honey, I just smiled and let it go. We had a great dinner and she did a great job. We need to stop being so sensitive and easily offended! My guess is that the server who referred to the man dressed as a woman didn’t mean any harm. Just be secure with yourself and let things go. Most of the time no harm is meant and if someone is really intentionally being a jerk, if they are just using words, let that go too. It isn’t worth getting that upset over. I really don’t let what strangers say affect me that much.
Me and my sister call everyone honey or hun and weither it be a boy or girl it just comes out naturally and how we talk. It's not due to sex though we just always done that. If someone did say or told me they preferred not to be called that I would do my best not to it just comes out for me.

I went to Wendy’s with my boyfriend (I am a black female with a pixie cut) and I asked for ranch from the passenger and the worker said “no problem sir” I literally said “I’m a girl” and started laughing cause it was just funny 🤷🏽♀️ I didn’t get mad af and ask for a refund. Only reason the guy in the first video is super upset is because he wants to be something he isn’t and everyone around him just doesn’t see or feel what he does! I hope he heals enough to accept himself and not allow what others say or see alter his everyday so much !
I’m in FL and this past summer my husband lost his DL. When he went to replace it, since it wasn’t close to expiring he had to show ZERO documents. They saw his picture filed online, saw him and issued him a new license. Just saying… they have these things on file.

Many years ago around Remembrance Day I walked up to an elderly man in order to get a poppy when he passed it over to me he said “there you go son” thinking I was a boy as I had short hair dressed tomboyish as I like to do - did I get upset and correct him and berate him for misgendering me? NO I smiled at him and walked away happy with my poppy. I still dress tomboyish though I have long hair now.
It would have been more understandable if that protester got arrested for pushing and shoving people because that is an ACTION. You should not lay your hands on people who haven’t attacked you first. Same if he’d been arrested for refusing to leave after being told to get out. Again, trespassing is an action and if a business or other establishment doesn’t want you there, you have to go. But arresting him for his WORDS? God, I am glad we still have the First Amendment here.

I think this issue is not discussed enough.. According to the National S3xual Violence Resource Center, 20% of women have been the victim of r@pe, while 81% have been the victim of s3xual harassment and/or assault. Women make up 50.5% of the US population while transwomen make up less than 2 tenths of one percent (0.0156%) of the US population. To make less than 1 percent of our population feel comfortable, we are endangering half our population... how does this make any sense. Just seein a "bulge" let alone a p3nis in an area where women should be protected and feel safe could cause panic, ptsd, fear and other emotions for those women who are a victim of SA or even DV victims. This whole thing is just wrong.
I found your channel about two months back and your channel is amazing! I have a lot of the same opinions and this channel has really helped me find my voice. It helped me realize that I need to stop thinking that any opinion of mine about something is (whatever)phobic. I would be so scared to speak up about something in the lgbtq community in fear of being attacked, but now I realize that I can’t keep quiet. Usually I do not hesitate to question the system, I am quick to point out things, but for topics like the locker rooms I used to keep my mouth shut. I would always think I was not normal for thinking of these opinions that were different from my woke peers. But these videos have opened my eyes and let me know that these problems are real and that I am not alone. I am “lesbian” but the pride community has not represented itself in a good way lately. I really don’t want people to think I am woke and will yell at others about pronouns. So I have stopped telling people, when they ask, that I am lesbian. I just say “I am a woman who likes other women.” I really don’t like labels and some labels will make people think poorly of me.

I worked in fast food for a year in highschool. One day I called someone ma'am but immediately after I said it I regretted it because I couldn't really tell who this person was. I assume they were some kind of trans or nonbinary because really they looked either gender. I felt bad for saying ma'am because what if that wasn't who they were? And I feel awkward whenever they come in now because of that one time. But at the end of the day, us food workers have been working long shifts and it's habit. I say "thank you sir/ma'am" after every order. I didn't purposely look at you, tell that you were trans, and call you a pronoun I thought would annoy you. I'm just trying to get through my shift
I can't stand when they claim "it's easy" for employees to focus on figuring out customers gender & pronouns. They don't seem to understand what it's like to be in 'work mode', where you're in the zone of just focusing on doing the job & listening/processing work related orders. It completely disrupts the flow to try to switch over to viewing each customer as some unique individual who you need to inspect, looking for clues so you can guess their inner Identity & address it 'properly' while also trying to work. There are hundreds or thousands of customers a day. When you're working, the people just look like a line of blurry faceless blobs after a while. It would take a tremendous amount of effort to switch back & forth from work mode to 'identity guessing mode' for every single person. There's just no way to efficiently do the job while trying to play that gender game. It would be so unbelievably draining since it would require you pay extra special attention to assessing EVERYONE so you can spot the one or two trans people who might come in that day & 'correctly' gender them.
22:21 as a fat man, certainly not the biggest out there but being double the bmi(i think that's what it's called) of my age and height, i was certainly big. I despise the fat influencers, because holy shit it's not healthy, stop lying to young impressionable youths who might be big themselves. If you want to be fat, sure go ahead, your body and all that. But don't tell people it's healthy, it's not. As someone trying to lose weight and looking out for similar people, hearing this crap when they are just starting out, it could be very very tempting to just accept it and their weight. Which again, they can choose to, but if they didn't hear some bs from a fat influencer, they'd have kept going.

As a woman who was sexually abused by a man in my childhood, if I had walked into the locker room like that poor lady at the spa, I would have screamed and called the cops. It would have turned into a full blown panic attack and a BAD situation for me. I honestly give her full credit for just running because I couldn't have handled that. I absolutely would 1000% have been thrown back into my trauma. I know that just from how my body began to respond to her telling her story - my heart started racing, my breathing picked up, and the pit in my stomach as soon as I knew where it was potentially going...if that reaction happens without experiencing it firsthand...I can't believe how she managed in the moment. She is a beautiful soul and I'm so sorry she had to experience that.

As someone who worked in specifically FAST FOOD we most definitely have to use sir and ma’am or we’ll have people on us for not being polite and “mistreating” our customers. I once had an elder gentleman come into the restaurant that I was a manager of and demanded that I call the young teenager running the back window to the front because she “used the wrong tone” and he wanted to “teach her a lesson”. I had a man that looked to be at least in his 60s or older basically threatening a teenager because he didn’t like her tone, this is a worker I know is actually very polite but almost constantly has sinus issues that make her voice sound very flat, I was near the back when she was dealing with that man and she was a lot more polite than some of our other workers but she had the wrong tone and he wanted to teach her a lesson. How in the world would any service worker be able to get away with not using sir or ma’am for any that’s not them and to be honest they would probably flip a lid if the worker didn’t use ma’am for them even if sir wasn’t used either.

I went out to dinner last night with my sister and the much younger waitress kept calling us “honey”. She was clearly using it to be sweet & nice, so even though I would prefer not to be called honey, I just smiled and let it go. We had a great dinner and she did a great job. We need to stop being so sensitive and easily offended! My guess is that the server who referred to the man dressed as a woman didn’t mean any harm. Just be secure with yourself and let things go. Most of the time no harm is meant and if someone is really intentionally being a jerk, if they are just using words, let that go too. It isn’t worth getting that upset over. I really don’t let what strangers say affect me that much.
Me and my sister call everyone honey or hun and weither it be a boy or girl it just comes out naturally and how we talk. It's not due to sex though we just always done that. If someone did say or told me they preferred not to be called that I would do my best not to it just comes out for me.

I went to Wendy’s with my boyfriend (I am a black female with a pixie cut) and I asked for ranch from the passenger and the worker said “no problem sir” I literally said “I’m a girl” and started laughing cause it was just funny 🤷🏽♀️ I didn’t get mad af and ask for a refund. Only reason the guy in the first video is super upset is because he wants to be something he isn’t and everyone around him just doesn’t see or feel what he does! Same if he’d been arrested for refusing to leave after being told to get out. Again, trespassing is an action and if a business or other establishment doesn’t want you there, you have to go. But arresting him for his WORDS? God, I am glad we still have the First Amendment here.

I think this issue is not discussed enough.. According to the National S3xual Violence Resource Center, 20% of women have been the victim of r@pe, while 81% have been the victim of s3xual harassment and/or assault. Women make up 50.5% of the US population while transwomen make up less than 2 tenths of one percent (0.0156%) of the US population. To make less than 1 percent of our population feel comfortable, we are endangering half our population... how does this make any sense. Just seein a "bulge" let alone a p3nis in an area where women should be protected and feel safe could cause panic, ptsd, fear and other emotions for those women who are a victim of SA or even DV victims. This whole thing is just wrong.

I found your channel about two months back and your channel is amazing! I have a lot of the same opinions and this channel has really helped me find my voice. It helped me realize that I need to stop thinking that any opinion of mine about something is (whatever)phobic. I would be so scared to speak up about something in the lgbtq community in fear of being attacked, but now I realize that I can’t keep quiet. Usually I do not hesitate to question the system, I am quick to point out things, but for topics like the locker rooms I used to keep my mouth shut. I would always think I was not normal for thinking of these opinions that were different from my woke peers. But these videos have opened my eyes and let me know that these problems are real and that I am not alone. I am “lesbian” but the pride community has not represented itself in a good way lately. I really don’t want people to think I am woke and will yell at others about pronouns. So I have stopped telling people, when they ask, that I am lesbian. I just say “I am a woman who likes other women.” I really don’t like labels and some labels will make people think poorly of me.
I'm not gay but if so, I'd be po'd too with all the TQ+ stuff and would want to be separated as far as possible from it. I worked in fast food for a year in highschool. One day I called someone ma'am but immediately after I said it I regretted it because I couldn't really tell who this person was. I assume they were some kind of trans or nonbinary because really they looked either gender. I felt bad for saying ma'am because what if that wasn't who they were? And I feel awkward whenever they come in now because of that one time.
But at the end of the day, us food workers have been working long shifts and it's habit. I say "thank you sir/ma'am" after every order. I didn't purposely look at you, tell that you were trans, and call you a pronoun I thought would annoy you. I'm just trying to get through my shift
I can't stand when they claim "it's easy" for employees to focus on figuring out customers gender & pronouns. They don't seem to understand what it's like to be in 'work mode', where you're in the zone of just focusing on doing the job & listening/processing work related orders. It completely disrupts the flow to try to switch over to viewing each customer as some unique individual who you need to inspect, looking for clues so you can guess their inner Identity & address it 'properly' while also trying to work.
There are hundreds or thousands of customers a day. When you're working, the people just look like a line of blurry faceless blobs after a while. It would take a tremendous amount of effort to switch back & forth from work mode to 'identity guessing mode' for every single person. There's just no way to efficiently do the job while trying to play that gender game.
It would be so unbelievably draining since it would require you pay extra special attention to assessing EVERYONE so you can spot the one or two trans people who might come in that day & 'correctly' gender them.
You have a good heart, and that's all that matters ❤
