    @Sam Pope I think If you go to Setup and click on Recording and go to maybe Dubbing there should be a check box with it saying Vcr to DVD then another one below it saying DVD To Vcr and if you click on the one that says Vcr to DVD it should have the dubbing feature work for transferring tapes to DVD Discs and if you want it to work as DVD to Vcr check the other box by clicking Select. if both boxes are checked for some reason I would try clicking on the check box that you don't want to have it record from to have it just work on what you want it to do the Dubbing feature from. Hope this helps.

    Correction there my sweet, VHS tapes don't exactly fall apart as you put it. They are in fact, a proven medium.

    My mother bought his for me as a present. It has been nothing but a headache..
    My mother bought me a Toshiba DVR620KU. Supposedly I would be able to transfer my old VHS tapes to DVD'S, and copy TV shows I had recorded on my Direct TV DVR. The VHS tapes I have were either prerecorded (bought at a VIDEO STORE), or blank ones that I had recorded TV shows or movies onto. I have the cables set up right. I am constantly getting error message, that I cannot record. What am I doing wrong , or were we ripped off. My technical knowledge is very very limited

    A SVHS player DVD recorder combo is whats needed. Sony,Panasonic,JVC etc brought the format for cameras and now there is no way to copy to DVD without going through a computer.

    "videotape from the 50's, 60's"? Video tape did exist, but I'm pretty sure VHS didn't :P
    I'm definitely not a fan of combo units, though.

    we also include the remote control
    she acts like it would be extra for it
    vhs last way longer then 15 yrs & are more durable

    The lady is a complete liar. When VHS tapes are properly stored they can last more than 30 years. 15 years my ass, most DVDs won't even last that long. There are some 1" or 2" videotapes from the 50's and 60's that still play great. And VHS tapes don't take up THAT much more space than DVD's. Plus VHS tapes are far more durable than DVDs. And you say Toshiba makes high quality products? Yea right, Toshiba quality? More like China quality!

    I can't record on VHS cassette off satellite. I can see cassette tapes and dvd both are excellent. Anyone know if I need some other connection to be able to record on VHS?

    i dont think you would be able to copy store bought vhs movies to dvd with this unit. because of copy protection (macrovision) most hollywood movies have that on it. you would need a seperate vhs & dvd recorder to do this & a box that removes the protection. they really are trying to make a sale

    Can you record directly from TV with this?

    • @unlikelyimager547
      @unlikelyimager547 Год назад

      No. If its the Toshiba DVR620 or 630 its just got AV inputs, so it can dub from the VHS tape to DVD or another AV device plugged into it, but it does not have a tuner to record from analog or digital TV from cable or antenna. Its really just made for doing conversions or watching old videos/dvds.
