    Enjoyed the video. One man band here, too. Couldn't do without the skid steer. I see many similarities. Hint: wait til cooler temperatures! Outdoor wood furnace here too. Runs year round. A friend in northwest Georgia. Jerry.

    Good honest labor right there! Cutting firewood is my summertime fitness program. I love being in the national forest, either with my dad, my son or friends and getting set for winter!

      Yes Sir! Just like the old saying , firewood will warm you several time!

  • @dgsports69

    I think I would have left it stacked in the loader and then restacked on the pile instead of dumping it back on the ground and adding a further step in the process. Other than that great video. Wish I had your tools to work with. Also. I would save a lot of humping then.lol again however every one has his ways of working the sweat off.

    • @PawPawMountain
      @PawPawMountain  7 лет назад +2

      Exactly!, after a few loads of dumping on the ground, I thought what in the world am I doing? Then I started pulling up the the wood stack, raised up the bucket and hand stacked onto the wood stacks! Much simpler! I don't know what I was thinking! Yes, a loader makes life much easier when you have no help, don't know what I would do without it. Thanks You very much for stopping in!!

    i like how you roll the logs with the peavy onto the 2 logs so when ya cut they dont drop down ... i have a bad back . i cant bend over much anymore so what i have done is put 2 logs together on saw horses then put the log ontop to cut .at waste height my wood splitter right there in the horizontal possision split the wood and put in the bucket of my kabota that i have clamp on forks to lift the logs onto the horse ... thanks for the video

    • @PawPawMountain
      @PawPawMountain  8 лет назад

      I understand the bending down part!, I have got to get mine up a little higher off the ground too!, It's true........fire wood will warm you several times!!

    Yes! Thank you. Now that is truly a video of beginning to end. I'm new to the woodlands and watching many videos. This is the first one where I see a professional process from start to finish. I need to build a process like this for my lot.

    Why cut down a good tree when there are plenty on the ground just waiting to be picked up?

    • @PawPawMountain
      @PawPawMountain  4 года назад +2

      Amazing Isn't it! It's for the benefit of the surrounding trees. May I ask, what your concern is?

    I enjoyed your video; love the woods cutting down trees making my own firewood; but I got to say it- if you really wanted to protect yourself throw on a set of chaps a hardhat gloves glasses; I don't know how you do it; I always get dust and dirt in my eyes even sometimes with glasses but anyway your a grown boy nothing I am going to say to persuade you either way; thanks for sharing

      Maybe safety glasses have not made it to his town yet. It would be a shame that someday he might not be able to see his fire burn. I do appreciate him taking us along on his journey to get his own firewood.

    Whats the gun for?

    • @PawPawMountain
      @PawPawMountain  7 лет назад +16

      It's for the holster, the holster is for the belt! The Gun is for any kind of trouble I come in contact with that the chain saw can't reach! Lol....The Gun if for personal protection! You may ask, against what?......I reply.... Anything that threatens or restricts my ability to walk and move freely!!

      PawPaw Mountain, I was asked recently if I had snake shot in mine, to which I replied that no, I have man shot in it. I go nowhere without mine.

      If the gun is a precaution why not a hard hat, face screen and chaps?
