Some heroes aren't living in a mansion in an island as the biggest celeb. They died on a cross to save everyone as a peasant and humiliated and hated. And then rose from the dead.
I'm less than eight minutes into this video and I already admire this man a ton. You can tell he's a man of substance in some way just from the discipline with which he draws and teaches and thinks.
@@slygarci6138 a short what? Sorry, the comment was getting too long. I had to stop reading. All kidding aside, I probably went back to watching it after leaving the comment.
@@slygarci6138 It's funny you should say that. I read and write novels as a hobby. I'm a mechanical engineer by trade, and not a bad artist. I wonder why you find me so interesting when you know nothing about me. How does that work?

I'm totally enamored by this man. Unintentional lesson about evolution in anatomy. Also it makes me think about how we can respect all animals. We are animals too. He's lived and he has so much to offer in his teaching. Also, I can glean a lot about how to make things easier on oneself as an artist. He rules.
Mr. Vilppu was one of my favorite teachers at Art Center College of Design 50 years ago. Wish I had come by this video sooner as I have been struggling with drawing animals. Such a wonderful, helpful video.
I'm so glad I typed Glenn Vilppu into youtube search and now my feed is filled with such quality videos --- truly a master, so lucky to have stuff like this on youtube, just gotta know what to look for 😁
I wish he could visit my country. God knows how much I love him and his work. I wish whoever claims to be an artist became more like him before grabbing the label. I know all artists don't need to know everything he knows, I mean they had his morals and principles in their work.
Lovely artist! Had a great time studying the anatomy and drawing along this video and I was very happy that I actually knew the difference between a cat's nose and a dog's nose. =D
Thank you for this excellent class! So easy to follow and well laid out. The best is how he starts with what we all likely have some knowledge of and shows how it is all related.
Este video es un tesoro! Estoy feliz de haberlo encontrado. Me inspira, aunque no he tomado un lápiz por varios años, tengo unas ganas enormes de ponerme a dibujar. Que fantástico enseña este maestro!
I'm laughing from sheer astonishment! I always loved art but I have no patience or talent for it. This skill is something else honestly, to be able to depict something at this level of accuracy, visually, is imperative in so many fields.
Okay so this video is basically about how can look for similarities in the human body to animal bodies, knowing how to "look" / drawing what you see vs drawing what you know, and something about underlying structure. The rest is just him repeating the process Oh and knowing what to look for And of course you can't forget the Zygomatic Arch and feeling the shape
To draw animals you use the same method you would use to draw anything else, look for your common shapes. Animals have a face like us, use the same method as doing an human portrait.

Glenn is a wise master, an expert teacher, and a charming, rambling old man who's forgotten more about art than most of us will ever know
I guess this means well but is really not very flattering and to be sure I am hearing amazing insightful explanations, no rambling, however.
