The last couple of years I've found myself going back to what has proven to work for me. That old Opinel pocket knife. Those old chain saws. Built boots. That's all in my comfort zone. My wife hates that i wear boots all the time, but that's me. I need to find one of those old 3/4,or one tons with an FE. Back to my roots.

Hi Buckin, from Australia and just gotten into collecting firewood for the family.
I love using my chainsaw and have learnt so many things from you regarding the chainsaw, even things such as how to buck a log. I truly appreciate your helpful videos and also your kind and positive life messages you incorporate. I lost my father at a young age so did not not learn many valuable lessons, but having amazing people like you on RUclips has helped me learn those lessons. Keep it up Buckin Billy Ray, with thanks and blessings From Melbourne Australia.

Such great advice my friend. As I've aged and (hopefully) gained a certain amount of wisdom, I hate seeing people walking around looking like they've lost their will. Hold that head up, put those shoulders back and stand up straight and tall. Not to be arrogant but to take the world head on. Eyes wide open...you'll probably see that bus coming and time to effectively react.

I really like that old crew cab and the way you set up the box.. Im finishing up an International S1724 dump truck soon to use for that and many other tasks. I like the dump box, but it is REALLY high to throw into..

Just came in from splittin' People if you haven't used a pulp hook, try it! Its so useful and there are at least 2 tricks you can do that buckin' didnt show. But these tricks cant be done with big wood like that but you can pick them up with the hook and stack them in the left hand. But the most important is the side flick with the hook, its another technique for throwing

For a pulp hook to be most useful it has to be most handy. I wear mine on an axe holder on my belt so that I have it ready for a quick draw. I can keep my fallers axe and pulp hook on the same loop, they wear well together. Get the pulp hook with the replaceable tip like Buckin' here, don't get the cheaper non-replaceable tip, not because you'll ever replace the tip but because the balance is much better and the added weight helps to stick it in a bite better. I've been using them doing fall and burn for beetle kill wood across northern BC and northern Alberta since the 90's. A pulp hook is an essential tool, carry spares!
