Hello Yvo, my name is Yvette and I live in Florida. I watch your channel every day and I love all the footage you record. I have two Koi ponds that I built and I love them. I have about 40 in one of them and I have their offspring in my smaller pond. I know that you’re a busy person with your involvement in Japan documentation of Nishikigoi and I’m inspired by your travels. Maybe one day if you’re in Florida, you could visit my home town and see my Beautiful Nishikigoi. Some of them are quite large. I think I have about Five females that are carrying eggs this year. I’d like to send you some pictures of them but I’m not sure how to make sure that you get them. I hope you’re doing well on your journeys and I hope to hear back from you soon. Take care, Yvette 🐠

Your info and content is good, but I wish the camera was turned around more often so we can see what you see, even if it's just the beautiful road you are traveling down on the way to the mudpond. A lot of times I'm trying to see what is behind your head and I love when you turn the camera around and point out what you are talking about so I can see it. I love your commentary and descriptions of what is happening in your video and your information is always spot on! I also like the music you choose and your editing. Overall, great job! I would just like a little more POV in the video and less from the selfie aspect.

What do they do with the ones that don't make the selection? Since they start out with thousands of hatchling fry, but by 3 years old there narrowed down to only about 50 or so fish. What happens to the rest?

    Hello,
First, thank you and congratulations for these wonderful videos about japan kois! They are really great and VERY interesting!
May I ask 2 questions that came to my mind?...
    (1) Is the selection criteria for fry the same for Tanchos? I mean, you explained they select only the dark ones. But as the Tancho kohakus, for instance, are nearly all white, is it the same selection criteria?
    (2) From one of the parents pond, we could see there are several kinds of koi (kohakus and showas). Do they cross the koi varieties? And then, some will become kohakus and some will become showas? (Sorry if my question looks a bit stupid...)
Thanks in advance for your comments... :-)
