What a genuine dude. Man, I don’t get why people love to hate on this guy so much. Down to earth and honest. You don’t get that too much these days, especially with high profile people
Folks hate on him because the media hates on him. The media hates on him for the reasons given in the beginning of this video. He was/is PRIVATE about his private life. His close circle doesn't talk to media, so there are never stories to break on him, so they have to fabricate and speculate on it.

@R6-J4 the reason why the Diva thing started was because Greg Jennings got a spot on ESPN and hated on Aaron and ESPN ran with it (outside of S.A.S). Call me crazy, but 1-2 WRs bashing their QB out of the damn near hundreds he had is a low freaking number and shouldn't hold any merit.
Raising his vibration, addressing childhood issues, and contemplating your career takes huge guts to face it all. God bless him. We are all a work in progress.
Say what u want about Rodgers, he's trying to reach his full potential as a human. He questions and deeply looks into the person he is and wants to be. This is what all humans should do. I look up to his wisdom. And I love the Packers 4 life.
What all humans should do, and they're all already doing, is experience (there is no one specific way to go about one's experience). Now, of course, if you're trying to awaken, then make time for yourself and look within.
@@CarschA except that with all his efforts at discovering what the truth is and where he is and should be headed; don't see it manifested in a lot of his personal relationships. In terms of football, on the field he does not seem to channel his emotions and energy as productively as he could; and that as a fan I'd like to see a bit more of his "potential" met in terms of "leadership. . But if those are not a priority with him and having a different insight is, so be it.. In terms of mostly telling things like they are and being an advocate for listening and considering other points of views - I'm with him 110%.
I grew up a Packer fan. My parents both went to UW Oshkosh so I was always among Packer, Badger, and Brewer fans. I watched a lot of Favre and still have memories of the '97 Super Bowl at a big party we went to and how exciting it was. But most of my football memories were in the late Favre and all of Rodgers career. He's been a leader and hero of this team for years and he deserves to be heard and respected in the sport's sphere. He's still just a man and wants to decide his own life on his his own terms. Rodgers and GB fan for life. I'll always cheer on the Pack and I will always root for Rodgers in whatever he does.
You must love Aaron rolling his eyes at his teammates and blame deflecting year after year. Really great heros and role models you have in Green Bay. Rodgers shrinks when it matters most. No amount of meditation or darkness or ayahuasca can change that about him. Hopefully Favre ends up in prison too.
I grew up in WI and the packers have such a profound heartbeat for the community. Truly grateful that Aubrey has curated a space where Aaron can share what is on his heart. These interviews have given me an even deeper respect for Aaron as a person and I wish nothing but the best for him & his life!
Big Dolphins Fan and a big NFL fan. Aaron Rodgers is real as they get. Regardless of what media and woke people say. Class Act , Honest , Educated and one hell of a QB. Whatever decision he makes it will be for himself and the correct path. Love yah Aaron and god bless yah.
The general public shames him because major media outlets paint this negative narrative. What I don’t understand is Aaron is willing to listen, learn about himself, take a deeper dive into thought rather than believing the first thing he hears, which personally I think everyone should do more of. He has a tremendous mindset when it comes to deeper thinking and doesn’t deserve the hate he receives. If everyone did this the world might be a better place.
Thank you Aaron for putting your spiritual journey out there for everyone to view. I know it's probably difficult hearing all the criticism from people that don't understand, but I'm grateful to have someone like you validate my own journey. It's inspired me to embrace and share my experiences with others. Keep at it bro!
You will be on a never ending journey to find something. What you need is a relationship with God and he doesn't tell us to take drugs and do these ceremonies to meet him or get knowledge of Him. This coming from someone who followed Aubrey down to Peru.
@@daveonezero6258 true, you ll never find nirvana if your looking for it as you already are it .Medicine not drugs very different. How was your experience in Peru?
Until McAfee I didn't really know much or have much of an opinion on Aaron. But in the last few years, I have grown to love the profound way he speaks and thinks. How eloquent he speaks. And you two together is like a megaphone of this calm, peaceful words. Listening just helps me be self-aware and self-reflective. Great podcast reflecting on his journey. Thank you!
@@RA-ym5uf cuz pat been interviewing rodgers almost every tuesday, gave alot of people a different glimpse of him, whats wild is he should of been on mccafee yesterday but now we kniw why he wasnt haha
@@RA-ym5uf Yea, "Aaron Rodgers Tuesdays" as they called it on the Pat McAfee Show is the first place I've seen him outside of the nfl media. So he was able to be himself and has really expanded my thinking. Not that Aaron needed Pat or anything, but that is how I learned about the real side of Aaron.
Same here buddy. Im a Detroit Lions fan who respected his skills but that's were it ended but after 2 seasons of A rod Tuesdays on the PAT MCAFEE SHOW I legitimately root for him on and off the field. I also happily engage any people who trash him. Im super grateful for this particular channel and made sure to subscribe and in the future view all the videos and immediately hit that 👍 button
I’m a diehard Lions fan since around 1990 when I started watching the NFL. Do you know how hard it is to not hate the QB of the Packers! But he found a fan here of wherever he does from here on out I respect his openness and is not afraid of the MSM ever thinks of him. Thank You Aaron for standing up for the TRUTH!!!!
There is definitely something to the darkness. My dad was completely blinded at age 21 from a welding accident. He was one of the smartest people I know. He could draw up inventions and whole job blue prints. He almost gained another sense.
It must have been scary and painful when your dad first lost his sight. I've heard that once you lose one sense, the energy used for the lost sense is used in other remarkable ways (energy can't be created nor destroyed so must power something else in the body). Seems like your dad gained a new superpower once he lost his sight.
Man this is golden! Love this content, love this side of Aaron! This is a great podcast and hearing 2 different stories of darkness together after ALL of the media coverage if anything is a good chuckle regardless of what Aaron decides to do. It’s been a good 18+ years as a GBP fan. Greatness.

Amazing point made right away about how the talking heads of sports claim to care about players' mental health, but then when players DO take care of their mental health, they are ridiculed, bullied and made to look like a joke.
It’s not because he’s doing it but because he went against the identitarian hacks with COVID 19 and being anti vaxed ! This is solely the results of Marxist radicals who want to push cancel culture everywhere and control the narrative. These clowns are not true Democrats but socialists elites who want to abolish western our way of life .
Idk if it will help, but Aaron gave us many years of magical football. In the last few years, he has also played the role of mentor. Not just to the team, I have learned a lot about mindset and myself just listening to him talk on McAfee's show. I have never wanted to meet a football player or "star" in my life, but he is someone that I would like to. As much as I can without knowing him as an individual, there is plenty of love for that man. Either way, if he wants to play or retire, I would be excited to see what comes next. If it was available for people to experience, lol
I’ve loved Aaron Rodgers since I saw him guest hosting Jeopardy, such a cool dude! He is a fully formed, well balanced person, and that’s what he brings to football and anything else he might choose to do.
What a pleasant surprise finding out about this podcast and sit down interview. Really enjoyed watching it! Lifetime Aaron Rodgers fan and shout out to him for being such a diverse individuals and so deep thinking. Some people poke fun of him but they just don’t get it and I feel sorry for them.
Respect for being your own person, and taking care of your mental/spiritual health. Not afraid to speak your truth, any REAL human being can understand. Keep doing your thing A-Rodge!
I'm a huge Rodgers fan and a huge jet fan. This guy is a leader. My favorite QB of all time, whether he comes to NY or not, he is a first ballot hall of famer and much respect for him as a QB and person, personal freedom
My friend’s mom went to the hairstylist that Aaron went to early on in Green Bay Area who got him to change his initial haircut. She was there on a day and observed when he showed up late for his haircut and was told he would have to wait. He didn’t act like an ass but sat down and waited. Good dude
It's amazing how vilified he is for being a hippy. He did DMT and darkness retreat and everyone loses their damn minds. He isn't hurting anyone with the way he lives his life. I respect he's spiritual and not another drone qb that points to the sky every time he does something good. Let the man have his time to decide, he's earned that. Go Pack Go 🧀
Aaron Rodgers cant even wipe his butt cheeks without criticism and critique. Its honestly pretty sad. Just let the fella live his life and play ball if he so chooses, otherwise enjoy retirement and its been real, thanks for a decade n a half of high level ball GO PACK GO!!
I didn't know you guys were friends, but you seem like a great influence for Aaron. Dark retreats are a great way to reconnect with yourself and this was unexpected but Aaron is very smart and the best for a reason. Very heartwarming conversation too and it's all too rare to see men express themselves this way. Peace.
I can see why Aaron decided to talk to Aubrey instead of doing his Aaron Rodgers Tuesday. What he experienced is best brought out in a conversation with one person face to face.
I went into the dark at Sky Cave in September. I had similar experiences as Aaron had. It is not easy but incredible!!! I have a better understanding of who Aaron is now after this interview. Bravo!!
I watched this full interview and I appreciate. A new fan of Aubrey. I am a Jets fan that moved down here to Florida...we all love Aaron Rodgers. J-E-T-S...JETS JETS JETS.
Congrats on completing the darkness retreat! You are an inspiration to many with how you handle outside noise and criticism to better yourself and love.
Thanks Aubrey, thanks Aaron, very cool friendship! Very glad this was the media source to share Aaron’s experience through vs. a media press conference of skeptics. Be curious, not judgmental❤️
Niners fan you’re not! That’s for sure and you liking Arron tells me you’re a narcissist, habitual liar, and someone who doesn’t take accountability. Get better role models not someone like Aaron
I’m so glad I took an hour and a half to really watch this podcast and not a 15 second snippet- I have no idea what Aaron will decide but there was a lot of things that made sense and such great in depth thoughts expressed . So worth listening to in entirety
Aaron looks like the weight of the world has been lifted from his shoulders. Comparing his body language, tone of voice, general attitude and perspective on talking points here as to some of the interviews leading up to the darkness retreat and I can see how much relief he has from the retreat. We could all use a mental reset and re-focus on our lives every few years, imo. Good to see him like this!
I just want to say thank you to AR12 for everything he has done! I'm in Dallas and a die hard Packers fan! I went to that game Vs Dallas last year it was by far the best sports event I've ever been too. Thank u
As a Wisconsinite who has lived in the heart of Packer-land the last 12 years. I’ve spent more time listening to / watching Aaron off the field and will say that’s given me 100x more respect for the dude. Aaron, when you do retire, come down to Milwaukee and we’ll find something fun for you to do.
Could you even contemplate taking a day for each scenario possible in your future and sitting and living that scenario out in your head with NO distractions? What a profound affect that would have.
Leadership personified- by all that produced this segment. Leaders have an amazing way of initiating the leadership process in each team member. Gratitude
It’s funny, people say they want public figures to be more genuine. Here’s this guy being as genuine and vulnerable as you can be, and there are people who hate him for it. He’s publicly examining his own existence beyond the material things while acknowledging the separate importance of the tangible things in his life, like his profession. These are the things we all grapple with as we move forward in the phases of our lives. To want to be able to identify and speak to those aspects of the human condition isn’t crazy or aloof. It’s about recognizing and appreciating your existence. Sadly, it’s understandable that a lot of people really are caught up in constructs, insecurities, and outside perceptions. We’re not necessarily taught to think any differently. There would be great societal benefits to people being guided to be introspective, thoughtful, mindful, and inquiring.
This is a really genuine, cool, and almost spiritual interview.. which u don't see these days... Usually, it's a certain topic that athletes get emotional and/or spiritual about, to have a conversation with 2 guys talking about experiences they've shared together and separately is something alot of people can learn from if they don't have that connection in their lives... I feel like if we as a whole pay attention to other people's experiences and truly listen, there's so much we can take away and use or try using in our everyday lives.
When I swore an oath to protect the constitution of the United States of America from enemies foreign or Domestic, it wasn't until after my career that I realized, the real work...the real fighting..the real protecting, didn't begin until I returned home....Hopefully Aaron realizes, his real work on this earth, begins After he hangs up those pads. I really love this guy, and cant wait to see what life he creates beyond pig skin. Hooyah Rodgers
Amazing conversation !! In mysticism that you vs you is called the opponent! When I was 14 years old I read a mystic who said "dont pray to religion pray to your soul, Your Soul is going to be the one who would save you"
What an inspiring conversation! I experience those lovely, magical feelings for my special people (and sometimes everyone)! Although a 68 year old mother and grandmother, I definitely feel a comradery with what you are expressing, thank you!!
Considering that many retired players say they miss “the locker room” and “miss the guys (player friends)” I would expect it to be a really tough decision for any player to walk away from the game. While the season is a grind it is also intertwined with what so players love the most - competing with your teammates. Nothing can replace that so you’d better really be ready to say goodbye to it. I don’t think Aaron is done playing but yet I can also see him experiencing a new team situation and whatever that experience may bring.
I’m a bears fan. I hate Aaron Rodgers on Sunday but love him every other day. His spiritual journey is a beautiful thing to witness and largely relatable
Amazing video !!! All these Positive posts on here. The Sports Media reaction and this video reactions are Completely different. This is a much happier place to be 👍
It's hilarious to me how so many people judge a man who's just trying to be a better him. It must be difficult being so perfect that you feel obligated to judge others. Life is about making mistakes. Everyone makes mistakes. It is how you handle them and correct yourself, that matters.
Just a couple hours ago I was thinking about how Arods experience in the 4 days of dark went. I even talked to my girl about his multiple ayawaska sessions and how he was back to back MVP in his mid 30s after taking ayawaska and then I was explaining how hes leveling up with the 4 days of darkness. She's not a big sports fan but she instantly became a fan of him and when this interview popped on my algorithms I was so excited to see how happy and at peace he is. I can't wait to watch again with my girl after we are done workings
I absolutely love Aaron Rogers !! Not only as one of the greatest Foot Ballers of all time, but now a true proponent of self exploration and the peace therein. @AubreyMarcus, I wish you were my friend too . Who wouldn't? Peace ☮
Hello Aaron (and Aubrey!), I know you'll probably never read this, but I wanted to say: (whether it goes to you, a publicist, or just the universe) you're words about football and life being inseparable to you (yet for many years you fought against that due to worries of perception and that you didn't want to be defined as one thing, or that your value was permanently tied solely to the sport).... All those things, ALL of them, spoke to me. Even though I'm someone who never played NFL football, never even played D1 football, I still felt the same thing - that you were speaking a version of my own experience. Growing up in high school, excelling both as an athlete and academically, I felt a similar identity crisis that continued into college. It only got worse as I wanted to become a teacher and coach. My inner dialogue became "Well, you shouldn't go to MSU, the college you have rooted for and wanted to go to your whole life, because then people won't know you were smart enough/got accepted to UofM and Northwestern." Or "You can't be a teacher, the thing you've wanted your whole life, because people perceive teachers as not as smart as an engineer or doctor, and those jobs make more money, so people will see you as a failure." Or "You shouldn't be a football coach, because then everyone will see you as that History teacher/football coach stereotype of a middle-aged man who is a dick, not in touch with emotions, forces his own kids to play, and someone who cares more about winning a dumb high school game than the kids/players themselves." Or my mother, sitting me down, crying, and saying, "You are so much smarter than I was, you got a 34 on your ACT, you have so much more you could accomplish- a doctor or surgeon... but you want to end up as *just* a football coach in the same town you grew up in." I spent 2 and a half entire years after getting my degree and certification unemployed, depressed, not coaching or teaching (not applying to jobs, saying "No" to offers to coach) drinking alone and not telling my wife, consumed by the idea that I *was* a failure (I was proving that to myself everyday), and that voice in my head was right, and the same voice saying maybe I should just end it all. Until football literally saved me. I started coaching again and it got me out of my depression, because I was back to doing something I loved and HELPING other people. I took on the responsibility to help these kids, the way coaches had helped me (to be mentally strong, physically healthy, loving and relying on my teammates who become my closest friends, and being a part of accomplishing something bigger than just I can do on my own). Even once I got a teaching job at the school where I was coaching (yes, the thing I love the most in life, teaching, was also a gift tied to football), I felt these thoughts creep back in. That voice had been hiding in the recesses of my mind, but turns out it wasn't gone, just hiding for the right opportunity. Teachers would jokingly say: "Well don't feel nervous about losing your job, you're a football coach, this district would never fire you." I didn't want to be seen as a meat-head/heteronormative/unintellectual dude who was only teaching because I wanted to coach football (or that I only wanted to coach football because I never made it as a player and live vicariously through players). Or my fear that my students would just see me as any other cliche football coach& History teacher (in that order). As my friends become engineers and doctors, I felt the negative thoughts of "You could've done that! You sure this was the best choice? You sure you're going to be okay with your small salary? If you invest more of yourself into this (teaching and coaching), and the more you truly believe it to be important, the more it becomes a part of your identity.... And I couldn't possibly have my identity be teacher & coach! I'm better/smarter/more sophisticated than that!" Listening to your podcast yesterday led me to reflect on how far I've come to push down those negative thoughts, but how I am holding on to them still. Seeing your honesty, growth, and vulnerability, even though you're Aaron fucking Rodgers, who is on the Mt Rushmore of NFL QBs, showed and inspired me that I can do the same. I realize now, that all the things football and teaching have brought me are reason enough to jump in even more with passion, conviction, and love, and that these things ARE important, and have brought me the things that I love the most in life. Being a teacher and coach gives me the opportunity to inspire young people to become adults; it allows me to provide the same blessings and relationships I had growing up, cultivating the sort of positive environment that made me the man I am today. I realized I can be at peace with knowing: the things that allow me to have the most impact and help others (coaching and teaching) are the things that bring me the most joy, pride, peace, understanding, and love. And I am proud if that is my identity, and I have no reason to feel shame for that anymore. Thank you for sharing your journey with everyone and bearing the burden of most people not understanding - them seeing you as whatever *insert mean tweet here*. I hope you know, you have helped at least one person remove the baggage of shame I've been carrying for decades, and inspired me to jump in more completely to the things I love and ways I can help others, and that includes my love of Football. Love, from a random dude in Michigan you'll never meet, Matt
Thank you for such a wonderful meaningful conversations. I love AROD so much more. As a Packer fan and Indian, he makes me so proud of his diverse experiences in life. Lolll, im not a packers fan but thru PMS, rogan and aubrey shows its hard not to be a fan of the dude.. and it makes me giggle that while the whole NFL media world is basically waiting for Aaron’s decision, he goes on Aubrey’s podcast to discuss his darkness retreat & god knows what other weird topics and the fact that the NFL media circuit will 100% be using this pod to try to spin a “story” is hilarious to me because the way they respond will likely be a perfect illustration of even sports media being so obnoxiously reliant on clickbait.. they HAVE to report something! Even tho no report matters once he actually makes his decision publicly.. Because of this reliance on bullshit content to fill the offseason downtime, now they have to report on (and give uneducated opinions on, in many cases) topics like ayahuasca, darkness retreats, big pharma abuses and really whatever aaron wants to feed em. Plus 2 years of going on mcafee recommending some pretty solid spiritual/though provoking books to a bunch of meatheads (to be clear i say this in the most loving way, i love Pat and the gang) low key id almost go as far as to say Rodgers out here running reverse psy-ops to counteract the blatantly obvious ones the gov and media have been running for years if not decades doing the Lord’s work if you ask me
Fabulous interview. I adore Aaron. He’s one brilliant guy and such a phenomenal QB. I wish him happiness no matter what his decision is. Blessed Be Aaron.
Very well done discussion. I have been a lifelong Packer fan and I feel it is time for Aaron to depart from the Packers and open a new chapter in his life. Wish you the best and thanks for all the years watching you in the Green and Gold! #famousbachelors
Yeah my guess is he will continue to play. For two years now i have felt he will go to the raiders. I lived in WI my whole life, so selfishly i hope he comes back but i think he knows they kind of want to go in another direction much sooner than later. Upon thinking more about it, i dont know if vegas is a place he would want to live for the season but i could be wrong. Either way, ill be rooting for him to get another chip and more importantly be content with whatever his decision is.

Sounds like quite a cool experience to go through, super glad and interested that ARod had was able to see football as a part of himself along with everything else that compromises his whole. I learned to meditate in a Texas prison. Upon release, part of the conditions of my release was a unfavorable UA I would have to do an automatic 5 years. The insanity of addiction is such that I started using again, despite these potential grave consequences. I contacted a Vipassana center, and lived like a monk for the next 18 months alternating between sitting 10 days silent retreats, and serving the food for the courses. I completed my parole. The organization sent me to India, where I sat a 30 day course with the founder The centers are so golden. Only people who have completed a course, and feel they benefited may donate. The centers around the world do not charge anything to go and attend a course. The teacher said that’s how the pure wheel of Dharma turns. 20 years later, I’m still involved in the drug war. But as a counselor. Be so cool to see dark retreats pop up like the Vipassana centers.

After that I like Aaron even more. Great wisdom. He seems to be in peace with himself. Sadly the other guy is absolutely not my type. In a bit over one hour of talking about Aaron's darkness retreat, I know his friends, work life, heritage and lifestyle, and all of this from himself. I'm sure he is a good friend and human in general...but if it wasn't for Aaron I couldn't watch it for two minutes...
I'm a life long packers fan and also a massive Aaron supporter. To hear him say he loves being around his team mates and being around the facility. Then why does he not want to be a part of the off season program anymore?
As someone who was in this realm and now baby Christian this solipsist way of thinking is dangerous. Not taking away from meditation, unplugging, fasting, cleansing aspects. Being a creation with consciousness and awareness of your a mind and a soul don't mean you have knowledge of God. We do not have the answers "inside of us" unless it is through God and his Spirit. It is literally the tree of knowledge thinking we know good and evil and Truth. "Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’ ” “You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

@@R6-J4 yup, skip says that a lot on his show
@R6-J4 the reason why the Diva thing started was because Greg Jennings got a spot on ESPN and hated on Aaron and ESPN ran with it (outside of S.A.S).

Thank you!
What did McAfee have to do with Aaron Rodgers? Just wondering...

There is definitely something to the darkness. My dad was completely blinded at age 21 from a welding accident. He was one of the smartest people I know. He could draw up inventions and whole job blue prints. He almost gained another sense.
I’m sorry to hear about ur dad man I hope he’s doing well
It must have been scary and painful when your dad first lost his sight.

Crack, crazy have you been in the darkness? You have channeled everything I’d say. Every word was my own.

I’ve loved Aaron Rodgers since I saw him guest hosting Jeopardy, such a cool dude! He is a fully formed, well balanced person, and that’s what he brings to football and anything else he might choose to do.
He's so brilliant, smart and I can understand him so when others want to beat him up with words, I get upset.
I am so happy for Aaron to be here sharing his journey with likeminded Aubrey. The very highest and best to all in your journey of life.
Just let the fella live his life and play ball if he so chooses, otherwise enjoy retirement and its been real, thanks for a decade n a half of high level ball

Really just Mike Florio losing his mind.

Aaron looks like the weight of the world has been lifted from his shoulders. Comparing his body language, tone of voice, general attitude and perspective on talking points here as to some of the interviews leading up to the darkness retreat and I can see how much relief he has from the retreat. This is what real love and life should be about. Deep meaningful conversations with love, not hate, jealousy and anger.
🎯 the others talk the talk, but try to tare down the ones who walk the talk.
It’s gotta be hard trying to motivate yourself when you’ve got enough money to do everything you want already. Love these dude. Godspeed boys!

I really appreciate that he shares his journey. People opening up more can only be a good thing.
He looks so much better than last interview! Looking forward to listening to this and see if he made a decision.

ARod, thank you so much for helping with my spiritual journey/awakening/healing with your book club 🤟🏿🤟🏿
I hope he's playing in Greenbay this year it won't be right seeing him anywhere else

Hello Aaron (and Aubrey!),
I know you'll probably never read this, but I wanted to say: (whether it goes to you, a publicist, or just the universe) you're words about football and life being inseparable to you (yet for many years you fought against that due to worries of perception and that you didn't want to be defined as one thing, or that your value was permanently tied solely to the sport)....
My inner dialogue became "Well, you shouldn't go to MSU, the college you have rooted for and wanted to go to your whole life, because then people won't know you were smart enough/got accepted to UofM and Northwestern." Or "You can't be a teacher, the thing you've wanted your whole life, because people perceive teachers as not as smart as an engineer or doctor, and those jobs make more money, so people will see you as a failure." Or "You shouldn't be a football coach, because then everyone will see you as that History teacher/football coach stereotype of a middle-aged man who is a dick, not in touch with emotions, forces his own kids to play, and someone who cares more about winning a dumb high school game than the kids/players themselves." Or my mother, sitting me down, crying, and saying, "You are so much smarter than I was, you got a 34 on your ACT, you have so much more you could accomplish- a doctor or surgeon... but you want to end up as *just* a football coach in the same town you grew up in."
I spent 2 and a half entire years after getting my degree and certification unemployed, depressed, not coaching or teaching (not applying to jobs, saying "No" to offers to coach) drinking alone and not telling my wife, consumed by the idea that I *was* a failure (I was proving that to myself everyday), and that voice in my head was right, and the same voice saying maybe I should just end it all.
I'm better/smarter/more sophisticated than that!"
Listening to your podcast yesterday led me to reflect on how far I've come to push down those negative thoughts, but how I am holding on to them still.
Love, from a random dude in Michigan you'll never meet,
Matt

Thank you for saying this.
