I need one of those jigs to hold the ball so I can drill my own equipment now that they made bias holes illegal, I got a lot of bias holes to plug as well I haven’t bowled in a while
I am a lefty and speed dominate and my arsenal as of now is 3 Sarge Easter grip a hammer statement solid, Brunswick classic black quantum and a old black storm spare ball that is dark gold looking and i have have a IQ tour solid at one inch off my pap , a hyroad x pin under my middle finger, a IQ tour emerald , gold honey badger, and a zero gravity. I know how the zero gravity will be drilled but not sure on the emerald amd honey badger because i bowl on old wood lanes with broken down lane oil and when my hyroad x states checking up too fast i can go to the emerald. Any suggestions welcome.
I haven't bowled in years. I see many bowlers with AWAY pitches in the fingers. Mine were either 0 or a little under. What is the purpose of away pitches in the fingers? Also, I've seen many dropped ring finger drillings. What is that purpose? Ty
Mikey, how deep do you drill down for no thum 2 handers? By depleting the mass, it will increase the diff on the ball so I'm curious to see if you keep it at no more than 2 inches or gamble and drill closer to 3 or 3 1/2 inches. Want to make sure the ball shapes consistently. Thank you.
With the 2LS system, you can manipulate the diff by changing the pin to center of grip distance. I drill all two handers standard grip depth unless requested otherwise.
@TV Bowling Supply Hi Mike! Can you clarify if this is true? Strong ball weak layout and weak ball strong layout? I normally have the majority drilled either benchmark or short pin controlled low flare. I am trying to maximize the benefits of each ball I have. Thank you! HAPPY NEW YEAR!
@@jimmychau3934 not sure what your question is, but if you use similar layouts on different balls, it’ll let you see the differences in the balls better
I know this video is up a while, but maybe someone can enlighten me: Is the 'midspan' just half of the overall span? I just can't seem to find where the center of grip on the hand is. I googled for literally two hours and could not find any answers. ... please? :D
Good video Sifu. Is the 1/4” really that critical and could you just go over laterally from the PAP to the center grip and disregard the 1/4”. That’s is me being lazy to drill a ball up quick....
Sifu, show me the way you hit your lines... I’m watching as I comment😁 also, with the slight change of layout could you see a difference in ball reaction out on the lanes?
For a modern release and modern grip, do you recommend forward thumb pitches? I have 2 balls over the past 10 years but my PSO has both fingers and thumbs reversed. Even with tape, I feel like the ball just wants to fall off my hand.
@@dangitZIN depends on a lot of things like your span, length of your actual thumb. Would be hard for me to give you an exact number. Experimenting is always required!
i just recently switched to an IT and i find it hella difficult to change from different slugs.. is it because of the residue left from drilling an IT hole? are there some techniques that i can minimize the difficulty of taking out and putting in different slugs. thank you!!
Great video Mikey. I would recommend explaining a but is what these mean. Like PAP, buffer, pin, etc...
My dad told me to watch a video on drilling a bowling ball and that it's a science. I can see he was not kidding. That was cool to watch also.
Cool to see the serious side of Mikey! Very informative, great content.

Congratulations to Mrs Mary Tang and to Mr,Tang aswell.
keep it up mike, excellent job
This is pretty similar to my standard layout lol. Wish I could get an altered though but looks like I missed out on that one.
Great vid, Mikey! Love your content. 👊🏻 Keep em coming!

Beveling the holes helps the cover not crack. Some people like very little bevel.
What's your thought on having your flare lines over the logo of the ball? ie the AlterReality logo on that ball in the video.
More hook?🤷🏼♂️

If you feel like you can’t hang on to the ball, definitely try going more forward in the thumb!
@@tvbowlingsupply thanks for replying! Currently 1/4” reversed. So actually forward pitched or just a little more forward than this?
