This video shows you step by step on how to do the "criss cross" stitch using loop yarn and how you can use this stitch to make a baby blanket! I use about two rolls of loop yarn which you can get here: (amzn.to/306z8Hd) (I used the color Jacaranda)

I think you can make this blanket with bulky yarn. You would have to make your own chain and start to weave the yarn. I think the loop yarn would be easier it’s already there for you.

This is a specific type of yarn that has holes already made! Regular yarn does not and I'm not sure if you can make holes :/
What row do you stop on a 2 row or a 3 row? does it even matter?
Not sure what you mean by stop at but just save the last row for closing off the blanket
