    As for your CCC cap it's a M1907 Winter Service Wool Cap. I have one in olive drab green. They were made in four different colors. Nice find with the CCC tag. M1910 First Aid Pouch in that style were made until 1942 at the Jeffersonville Quartermaster Depo in Jeffersonville Indiana which is 3 miles from me. I am 99% sure it's a repro as the repros are selling for $20.00 to $25.00. SOS is 18 minutes south of me and I didn't go last yr or this yr as I have too many items now. I been collecting for 60 yrs. If your close by I have items for sale at prices you will like.

    Great video! I really enjoyed the British canteen and the wonderful story of how you found it. I will have to get to the SOS one day. Sadly, it is a little far for a 17 year old kid from Arizona haha

    Great video and very nice finds! The price on ww1 shelter halves is very suppriseing to me I picked up a unit marked and named one to a man in the 26th division for $40 at the last show I went to.

    A very interesting and complete video. I have a canteen dated 1944 with a name and what I think is an ID = serial number of the soldier who used it. The cover is similar to the one you bought with the line stitching. Inside the cover is a small tab that reads “Made in” but the rest is worn off. Maybe it’s also a British made cover?

      It was good to see you as well. I am hoping that next year we can do some "after the day" meet-up for pizza or something. It would be fun to talk and share while not trying to shop at the show. As far as my finds...I was quite surprised but then again, it is the Show of Shows! Hope you did well and yes...the post show blues suck!

    Where can I find torsos for cheap

    • @KeepItBrick
      @KeepItBrick 2 года назад

      Hey man, hope you’re doing well!
      They used to be out there but over the pandemic they seem (at least for my area) to have almost completely dried up. It seems all the sources online I know of (and have dealt with) are either raising their prices or just not selling anymore.
      If you just want a form, your best bet is probably a dress form as you can find older ones fairly cheaply, and often the cloth covering allows them to look fairly decent. That being said, I see a lot that are super beat up and the sellers want anywhere from $30 on up. With torsos it’s really a flip of a coin as to what you’ll find, my best advice being buy the best you can afford. Typically you don’t need a huge amount of them, and you’re probably going to be looking at them almost every day, so why not invest in a good one?
      Just my thoughts,

      @@KeepItBrick thanks brick yea I wanna get one to display my wools and m41 but nothing to big

      Hey 29th...I agree with KeepItBrick. You have actually given me my idea for my next video which will be displaying a uniform so I will go into some detail there.
      I have always had my best luck in finding torsos by looking for businesses that are closing down (such as department stores, etc.) They often have a liquidation where everything, including store fixtures are put up for sale. Sometimes they are "stupid expensive" but this past year I was able to find several at a close-out sale for around $15.00 each. They were nice "store models" with wooden adjustable basis, etc. so the stuff is out there. Just watch the size. I have found that many are in "current" male size which is often way to big for a 1940's era jacket. I have actually seen some collectors use "child size" torsos.
      You can find some on-line but every time I have tried...they are either over priced (in my opinion) or the shipping kills any good deal being offered.
      If I spot one available around me "cheap" I will grab it and let you know as I have hit my space limit.
