When my son was three he had sensory processing issues, basically meaning he was hyper and acting out all the time, at home and school. I brought him and his grandmother to Disney World and specifically stayed at the Animal Kingdom resort with a room with a small balcony overlooking giraffes and various types of antelope. The change in his anxiety and impulse control after a week of sitting just watching the animals when we were at our room, as well as spending time each day at the aquarium in Epcot was beyond my expectations. It helped him more than his three months in occupational therapy. I just wish it wasn’t at least a half mile walk of hallway to the main lodge from our room.

🤫 At the Riviera you can have a great view of the Epcot fireworks 🎆 from your own balcony! Standard view and then request to be on the front of the resort, 4th floor or higher.

The tree houses are literally the best! I’m a Floridian so I’ve gone to Disney a lot growing up. But the trip I remember the most we stayed in the tree house with my grandfather, he passed last year but it is still my favorite memory with him❤️

    • @RegularPersona

I always stay in the tree houses before a cruise if I have a car because you can park right next to the treehouse. In fact the last time I stayed in one was before a cruise with my Mother In Law and another couple. There were five of us, and we all had a room to sleep in.
I use DVC points to stay there and always book it at 8 AM exactly 7 months in advance.

The 3 pools 🏊‍♂️ there plus mini golf ⛳️ course, zip line, jumping trampoline area, and different breakfast choices each day made it a great choice! The Polynesian Bungalos are also real nice in that you have speakers on the back desk which plays Hawaiian music during the day, but plays the fireworks audio during the shows.
Sitting out there on the back deck is basically the E-Ticket location to watch the fireworks in your own personal space. (Yes I know the top of the contemporary is nice also, but just sitting on your own deck is incredible.)

I just stayed in the Garden Suites, for the second time, and while they’re fine they need a lot of work. A/c doesn’t really reach upstairs, water damage (and I think some mold due to my allergies acting up), and if it pours rain there is no drainage so you will be ankle-calf deep in water coming and going to your room. You do get club level but that’s all the way on the 4th floor so really inconvenient. The sofa does pull out to a sleep sofa (my daughter slept on it, it was just us and she liked the a/c downstairs so she took the sofa), and there is a half bath downstairs, but they cap it at 2 people staying in a room so not great for a family at all. Also, hiking upstairs to get to bed after all the walking is just 😭.

@@tmapes1989 to be fair, these rooms haven’t been overhauled in a LONG time, and they’re about to go under renovation in the next year. They aren’t going to go massively working on stuff when it’s about to get all ripped out anyway. Also, nothing can be done about their distance from the lounge 🤷🏻‍♀️. I’m willing to give them another try after they’ve been renovated, just like I did the tower rooms at Contemporary.

AJ & Crew--You're mistaken about Coronado Springs. It IS Disney-fied! Quite a lot, in fact. A giant painting of Walt graces the lobby atrium and hidden Mickeys abound everywhere you look. My grandkids would constantly be calling out "Mickey" while walking down the hall, in the elevator, at the pool, at the food court, in the restaurants, and in the artwork throughout the resort. Some are quite large and some are very small. The hidden Mickeys can be quite subtle, so a quick glance will miss them.

Thank you DFB!!! Even as someone who has been to Disney more than 10 times, I'm still searching for the perfect way to experience it. So much has changed since I was last there in 2017. So you're guides help so much. I went on my honeymoon in late September 2013 as well. I am telling you right now, that time of year is hands down the best time to go. Our flight landed in Orlando at 9am and we were able to do both Epcot and Magic Kingdom in the first day. It wasn't too hot, but even if it was we probably wouldn't have noticed since the parks were basically empty. The only ride in any of the 4 parks that was busy was Toy Story Mania, which was new at the time. We never had to use the Fastlane. And when rides broke down, they would give us Fastlane passes. We never even used them.. We stayed at Coronado Springs. We had the whole section of the hotel to ourselves. Even had the pool to ourselves the whole time. It was amazing

I've been to Disney World 31 times it was where my family headed to every year for our vacation getaway. We have always stayed on Disney property so we have been quests at most of the hotels. From the Amimal Kingdom Lodge, the Wooden Cabins, The All Star Resorts(all of them) Dixie Landings-Riverside ,the Caranado, the Caribbean Beach Resort and others. After 31 years I can't remember all the names. The Amimal lodge was great but to take advantage of all of it you have to arrange your schedule to there's.
It has all changed so much. It was always expensive but you got what you paid for. Not anymore last time I went I felt totally ripped off. All the extra perks like late evening hours in parks, transport to and from airport, and others were included in the hotel price. The dining plan was great 👍 you could have a beautiful meal at any restaurant on Disney property. All the Epcot restaurants and hotels and in any park
every night plus a food court or smaller restaurant for breakfast or lunch and grab a snack during the day for everyday you are staying. For the price it was a great deal. It's not available anymore . I'm so like I was able to go when I did. Now it's just not worth what they charge!!
