    I'm a cis male homosexual. "Do you want to go back to being straight?" I was never straight in the first place. My whole process of accepting myself as a gay man was the most difficult part of the whole process. Yeah, just don't ask those questions.

      At least people are trying to be nice in a weird way, of course because they don’t really understand people who aren’t your run-of-the-mill person. So if you have any differences like you’re queer or disabled, etc most people who aren’t bigoted and don’t really know much, but are seeking to understand might say stuff like that.

      Awww next time you can just say to them before asking “I want to be there for you and know more about your process and transition, so if you’re open to it I’d love to hear the parts your comfortable sharing” and that way it’s on them and you don’t go too far for what they specifically are comfortable with. Everyone’s different :) but you can just check in with them and be honest and say I wasn’t aware those might be sensitive questions and I’m sorry if I triggered you:) and thennn maybe say the thing above ^ just be honest and kind, you’ll be alright :))

  • @dragonflysagatiaej4833
    @dragonflysagatiaej4833 4 года назад +1

    I wish we could be friends. I relate to this so much! I have a rigid orientation and I am getting a lot of hate from the trans community because my orientation is very rigid and not fluid, but I feel this isn’t a choice for me and it just feels bad hearing that I’m not valid for it. The worse thing is, if I had a choice, I would choose a fluid orientation. It just doesn’t work that way for me. It’s like non-LGBT people feel if we are valid, it hurts or somehow threatens their own validity so they attack us for it and I feel like terfs and those who hate people with rigid orientations... it’s the same thing. It’s like somehow my personal truth isn’t valid because my validity somehow hurts or threatens their own validity and it’s the SAME B.S. and it’s NOT TRUE. Why can’t we just say, someone knows themselves best and someone else’s truth should simply be valid and their truth has nothing to do with my truth. Why can’t that just be the thing. Everyone’s personal truth should just be valid. I really don’t understand this inner-community prejudice against differences. It’s super unhelpful. So people should not say other trans people are “transphobic” for expressing the truth about themselves that they are stuck with a rigid orientation instead of a fluid one. That shit sucks and it’s hurtful.

  • @blackqweenmars
    @blackqweenmars 11 месяцев назад

    Honestly, I think it depends on the context for some of these. Asking or saying these things casually when it’s not relevant to the conversation like how you would ask for someone’s name or where they’re from probably wouldn’t be the best though. Based on what I’ve learned, it’s more about context and connotation and less about what you say. Context could make anything appropriate and it could also make anything inappropriate. Everybody’s different, and some people might be fine with these questions while others might not. I feel like comment has taken on a bad connotation. Commenting isn’t bad in itself but commenting in a negative light is and if a trans person asks you how they can pass better. I think it would be fine to tell them. Commenting on someone’s appearance isn’t necessarily bad. It’s only bad when it’s negative or it’s in a bad taste. As an autistic person, I’ve learned that if you’re not sure just hold off and watch what other people do and just use your words carefully and think about how you think they’d be perceived, and how you feel if they were said to you. If you feel kind of iffy about something and you can’t find a good reason to say it then just don’t say.
