I first did not like the smiling front and Nagare, but now I love that design, it grew on me in about a week. It's just one of the nicest vehicle I've purchased in a long long time. I am always looking forward to driving it the next day, that's when you know that you've bought the right vehicle.
Wow turned it and the engine sounded like birds. that pretty cool, though mine says hello were the radio screen is. wow opened the hood and it sounded like an old typewriter, Mine you can barely hear and often wonder if it's running or not.. LOL. I have one of these and love it.
@iswedishfishs In my view a "MiniVan" is a miniature van. If you want extra seats and extra crap get a BIG van. Some of you people want Bloomingdales with a Wal-Mart budget! The Mazda5 is the perfect size for single people who ferry the occasional niece nephew & dog, as well as for people in general who don't want something huge! Therefore, YOU may not be the target market for this vehicle.
@nayisradx7 i know, but that is kinda what you get for 20k but 3rd row seats are best for seating extra people with LEG ROOM a lot smaller, more expensive cars and minivans have more room.
@iswedishfishs It's perfect for me because we have young children which was main reason to get this minivan; we do have the Odyssey which we use for the long distance trips. For short errands, can't beat the Mazda 5's versatility... period.
@bigvirgotube xD yeah that is a bad comparison but i guess for a midsize minivan it is ok? and we got rid of the gl is was a 08 and now our car has no third row:(

I know this is a VERY GOOD vehicle, but the "GOOFY GRIN" grill ruins it for me...Turns it into a CARTOON CAR ! Not thrilled with that swoopy body texture along each side, either...In the right light, it looks like collision damage. WTH were these "designers" thinking ???

Can carry 400 lbs more in people and cargo than a Honda Fit. Pretty solid.

@samas49 It is, it saids it on the door sill. Also, on the sticker, it says Made in Japan, and 95% parts are from Japan.

@samas49 Yes, I bought the Nissan version here in Japan called Lafesta Highway Star which it has a much better look than the Mazda 5/Premacy.
MAZDA has just announced it 2015 is the last year they will produce this awesome mini van.. 😞

this is NOT a minivan the 3rd row is way to small our old gl550 had a bigger seat in the back and no power doors or liftgate?

@nayisradx7 German version has powered sliding doors, plus hatch I believe. It also has headlamp washers and fender mounted side markers.
Mazda seems to try to do everything but rarely gets anything right..
