Ontario native here. Nothing personal, Mr. Hartman, but I won't ever cross the border into the US again, and I certainly won't be purchasing anything in the US, including your products. I cancelled a group (12 of us) golf trip to Myrtle beach. Hotels, cancelled. Golf, cancelled. Meals, drinks, tips, shopping. All. Cancelled. I get it that my group of 12 cancelling our golf trip won't mean a lot in the grand scheme of things, but there are many, many more Canadians that feel betrayed and disrespected by the reckless actions of your president, who will do the same and discontinue supporting American based businesses. Its too bad really, but Im pretty sure Americans would do the same if the situation was reversed. Let's all hope that in time, a more reasonable president takes office and appreciates the long-standing friendship and partnership our two nations shared for so many years. Until then...well, you are on your own. I wish you good luck with your business.
@@geoffreykeating8172 Thanks for adding your voice to this issue. I read that Forbes magazine is predicting that the US could lose as much as $2 BIILLION dollars in CANCELLED vactions by Canadians. I think that number might go even higher.
One thing that will happen is that the American liquor on Canadian shelves won't need to be re-ordered for a long time. Trump suspended the tariffs, he didn't cancel them. No reason for anyone in Canada to just forgive and forget. It's not just wholesale liquor imports by the government that sellers could replace from a different wholesaler. The government liquor stores are the only place hard liquor is sold. If they don't sell it, it isn't getting sold.
tell me you know nothing about liquor without telling me you know nothing about liquor. European whisky and American bourbon beat 90% of canadian booze.
@@bryanmarks608 they are not big enough for the American market, they have decades before they worry going over borders, they will sell first to an American company
as a canadian i supported trump and wanted him to win. his idea of messing with canada because our moron leader threw insults at him is insane. this is why. 70% of canada's imports come from the US (finished goods, often from foreign companies that make the product in the US) finished goods we can easily buy from europe or asia directly!. while the US imports 30% of it's goods from canada (mostly raw materials canada can very easily sell to the world!, like lumber metals and oil. if a trade/tariff war happens the US will be the huge loser NOT canada!
95% of american liquor is sold to places that aren't canada. The selection of American liquor in government controlled canadian stores is notoriously bad. So much so that people plan organized group trips to the US to shop for booze not available in canada.
@ with access to 2 provinces i can't find much of anything interesting from US distillers. An extra reason for the government to get out of the alcohol business.
CANADA - Living the American Dream without the violence since 1867.
this is a mess and left a awful taste in my mouth that may never go away
Boycott USA franchises. Done.
The damage is done

I’m not buying bourbon any more. I’ll buy scotch or Canadian.
Your Govt played the FAFO game. We wont forget.
US Democrats are buying Canadian too.
It will be a cold day in hell I’ll buy American, if I can find a replacement. Bad taste in my mouth.

One way or another, this has to end next month; we can't be strung along month after month.
Simple buy Canadian
Canadian liquor is much better people just buy local Canada 🇨🇦

wait a minute, hold on, if Hartman's distillery don't sell to Canada, why are they concern about tariffs
They want to, they’re just not big enough yet. So one of their potential markets are gone.

The world now can truly see how unstable the US is under Trump and Musk. The US needs to be humbled.
Liquor imports to Canada are about 3 Billion per year. Not exactly a tiny amount.
In 2023, Canada ranked as the second largest export market for American spirits

Canadians can't remove American booze because it' already bought and paid for by Canadian store's so you kinda have to sell it. If you don't you loose
We r not buying any more.
We'll tolerate eating that loss, supposing we don't just export it else where.
We will take that loss
