My favourite part of the update, is that every type of player, whether builder, challenge taker or more get what they want in this update and it really shows how re-logic listens to their community. (builders get new blocks and tools, challengers get a new seed. etc.)
You forgot the troller
ah, of course (but I didn't really want to go into detail of all the types of players - either way I would of forgot though)
@@Ratro25 then why did You said everyone else BUT the troller?
And Summoners get fucked over (we're massochists)
No, thats not what I meant, I don't think I got every type of player in the comment, but if I were to write every player then I would have forgotten the troller, which I thank you for reminding me that there was new traps
I would kill for an update that would allow artificial oceans. It's been my dream to create a custom world just filled with different biome islands. I tried to make it at one point using Tedit, but I quickly discovered that everything became one giant desert :(
Same -.- I'd love a true Subnautica-esque map that wasn't just a giant desert
Agreed, would love to be actually able to make larger oceans
Once I dug the water from the ocean and put it in the dungeon and I huge lag spike hit and then the dungeon was full of water and the ocean completely empty.
Honestly surprised i havent seen a mod or something replicate this
There's a mod that acts like monoliths, and changes the biome backgrounds to match. I can't remember the name, however...
My favorite part is 9999 block limit, really helpful, also remixed world seed, completely fresh experience.
On the topic of furniture sets, the fact there isn’t an Aetherium furniture set is almost a crime! It’s such a shiny and pearlescent block, I could easily see it in sky island builds or paired along with cloud/marble. If they’re still planning on making changes, I’ve got my fingers crossed for Aetherium furniture…
With enough creativity you can make one:D
Crystal furniture works really well I think with it. I made an underground wizard's tower with the platform in the center of the shimmer lake being Aetherium, with a crystal block tower, topped with smooth granite roofing gives off that mystical, magical feel. For added bonus, the Aether is where my hallow decided to branch towards, so the pearlstone and crystals growing from it just make it even better with that starry background.
@@SeathThePawn do you have anywhere where we could see it?
@@PolarPanda73 Sadly no, plus the tower itself is not my design, but rather one i found online and just copied with different blocks. Wish I had the link to that one, b/c that one at least deserves a share.
That one was a mini stardust themed mage tower with a tree branch room on the right side atop a floating island with the stardust monolith active
The nebula brick furniture seems pretty close, I tried it and it looks alright ^-^
My favorite part of the update so far? The bouncy boulder.
And the fact that the community and the devs come together to pour all their love and care into this update.
True to the name "Labor of Love."
My favorite part of the update isn’t per say in the game, rather it’s how the community is coming together to share all the new things they find.
I thought journeys end was gonna be the last update
@@cullensmith6275 1.4 was the last last last last update.
@@rain.5514 I stopped watching terraria because I thought the devs were done updating terraria at journeys end
@@cullensmith6275 they lied
As a novice builder, my favorite part of the update so far is finding all the new blocks and items. I've been working on a 100% research Journey Mode character, and this update just feels like he gets a bunch of more toys to collect and play with!
I’ve been enjoying the extra challenge the everything seed is, and messing around of with shimmer. I haven’t tinkered with any of the building stuff yet, but i am definitely going to in the near future! Thanks for the videos Khaios!
For now, my favorite thing added in 1.4.4 is the hand of creation. As someone who wanted to focus more on building but keep the survival aspect of the game, I love that this item gives me more space for other accessories like a shield for knockback or some boots to help me survive. Even on master mode it was always hard to have like only one spare accesory slot and now with the hand of creation, I have two more slots that I can use for other things!
The Aether and the Shimmer is my favorite part so far. Just the aesthetic of it is so beautiful, I'm definitely planning on making an artificial surface Aether biome on my main world once I get the endless bucket.
I’ve always hated grinding ankh charm and now that the pocket mirror is necessary my favorite change has to be shimmer. It’s so useful and they make it much easier on the grind and the item upgrades are really fun
Ive always wanted new coral blocks to make an ocean monument base. I'm excited to see the fun you'll have with this new update. Take it easy!
GREAT VIDEO!!
>.> You haven't watched it yet
What's next? A shady URL in your name, Blue!?!?
No!! Definitely not!! ;P
You can never get enough of Terraria can you ? There's just too much to do but not enough ! That's why I Love Terraria.
Agreed and nice pic ;3
@@sky7059 femboys, yummy
I love the loadout feature in 1.4.4, and doing silly things with shimmer. I messed with the new world seeds but it's a bit too spooky for me. Awesome looking build, as always!
I've been really enjoying the daily uploads, I hope you don't burn yourself out though :)
I can't wait to see what you do with the shimmered luminite bricks. Might be annoying to get outside of journey mode so I hope they are worth it.
The shimmer and coral blocks have inspired me to create a hallow world with these new elements. I love the amount of color they added in this update
The coral and reef blocks both look good to make a beach house 🎉
Not only am I excited to hear Khaios talk about the new liquid, but I'm also excited to see him build in its new minibiome. The instant I first saw it I immediately thought, "This would be the perfect area to build something simply magical in". I wonder what ideas he'd come up with for it
currently, my favorite part of the update has been being able to watch yours and blues frequent content on the building aspects of the update. my computer has been broken for a little while now, and i cant play the update, but the videos you all put out still has me so hyped to play it.
(that coral reef build is very ambient, i like it)
I love this update as both a challenge taker and builder, plus the new grass for the underworld has me excited for some builds
I love your coral reefs SO MUCH ❤
I'm loving daily uploads, but don't force yourself if you're not feeling up to it. Love you Khaios
here's how to get the dirt block pet:
The Dirtiest Block is a pet-summoning item. It can be found extremely rarely as a block that looks identical to Dirt.
Upon world generation, 3 (in a small world), 6 (medium) or 9 (large) Dirt Blocks will randomly be replaced with Dirtiest Blocks.
Day one of destroying an entire world
@@kooperjacobs3162 yeah, it seems almost impossible to get in a regular playthrough without knowing the pet existed and ''farming'' for it. i wish you luck on your path of destruction
@@kooperjacobs3162 celebration mk10 has 5× more
@@horizonbumpy2828 celebration mk10 has 5× more
I like how not only have more casual players gotten some help, but builders got a buff and many more materials to work with, as well as players (such as myself) who want more of a challenge got the new seed as well as the melee rework.
Loved the build, i actually wish the oceans had coral reefs like the one you made
I love furniture sets and I’ve collected all of them so far, but having to make space for the new 3 is such a massive hassle. I think I may just wait for tedit to update and move stuff around that way
The new liquid is probably my favorite part of the update. It's so pretty and it does so much! It's awesome!
Cool build! The 1.4.4 vids have all been really cool so far!
This update is so good that its hard to decide, but I think that my favourite part is shimmer
All of the new building supplies is really amazing!!
Those dyed reef blocks you showed whilst showcasing it reminded me of Prismarine blocks from Minecraft
What might be more practical than building a full khaois seed, is to craft assorted pieces of the world, and then working with relogic to get them into the mapgen as randomly generated structures.
Perhaps working with a modder like Wombat might be a possibility too.
He built an interesting worldgen mod for 1.3, and he overhauled it for 1.4 as the Remnants Mod.
my favorite part of the update is all of it. seriously.
i had a server with my friends a few months after 1.4 launched and havent spent pretty much any time on terraria since then and therefore havent been in the news loop. all i remembered was that 1.4 was "the last major update for terraria" so the fact that labor of love even exists was a hugely unexpected for me. i have also been pleasantly surprised with how much this update has to offer, i keep finding new stuff that wasnt mentioned in the steam news thing.
My favorite part has been exploring the update with my friends. We've been playing every night and just been having an absolute blast. Finding new items, exploring the new seeds, trolling each other. It's been amazing.
the shimmer its so cool how it just turns items into other items the effect it gives you im just happy re-logic decided to do one more update.
In general, I feel like the ocean needs more content. Giving it something like what the desert got in 1.4 would be lovely.
Agreed, needs some foliage and fish
khaios! been a fan of yours for a couple years now and i'm super proud of all the hard work you're putting in to get these videos out! as an (very) amateur builder, my absolute favorite part of this update is the inventory upgrades! 9999 blocks in one slot!!
I like the Axe of Regrowth. Chops trees down SUPER fast (especially for pre-Hardmode), replants the sapling automatically, can grow grass on dirt, and can be used for better herb farming. It's also not that difficult to acquire early on. It might take a bit of luck to get the Staff of Regrowth, but with enough prudence and patience, getting the vines and spores isn't all that bad. I'm no expert player, and I managed to get it with no armor, right after starting a new character and world. With a base power of more than 20, it's also not a bad weapon for a bit.
Wouldn't an artificial ocean in the middle of land be more akin to a lake? Though, having a separate lake biome might also be interesting. Still, putting a bunch of sand an water in areas outside the ocean zone would just create a desert oasis. I suppose since oceans require far more water, there could be a way to distinguish the two.
my favourite part of the update is honestly the community hype surrounding it. I used to play terraria years ago, and wracked up hundreds of hours, but fell out of it when I lost contact with my gaming buddies. I haven't played properly since 1.3 so there's a lot of hardmode stuff that was in 1.4.0 that I haven't even got to yet. The hype surrounding the update, youtubers posting loads of content on it, it's all got me super excited to play again and I've even been learning how to build (something I never bothered with, but now love!) and working on a world just for myself. I never thought I'd get back into terraria at all, and I'm so grateful to relogic and everyone in the community for reminding me just how awesome it is. :)
I love the void bag changes and how it acts like an inventory extension!
Dang I was just building and Khaios uploads
My favorite part about this update is the bouncy boulder traps.
It perfectly fits my chaotic prankster personality.
I also think that you could use illuminate paint with some background walls to lighten up the deep oceans.
my favorite part is the stacking and the shimmer npcs, the npcs look so cool and the stacking bullets to 9999 has made my life way waaaaay easier
As someone who's played through vanilla several times & is more of a builder, I'm super stoked about the qol building got. But with the upside down seed being almost a new game and all the new stuff (I'm on a quest to shimmer all my NPCs) it's a beautiful thing all around!
my favorite part of the update has gotta be the town slimes especially the one with a copper shortsword
As much as I love the idea of more ocean stuff, I think that’s an idea best suited for terraria 2. The world is already very crowded, adding more to the ocean will mean less of other biomes.
The coralstone/reef block blending you suggest would be possible, but would require more art assets. You need assets to handle all the ways they could bump up against each other
One update that i love is the new liquid make arrows bounce off of it instead of just sinking
A custom world sounds very fun. With tedit you could sketch your ideas on the first hand and then set some friends on to help shape it so you have a quicker way of going into building. You could then even make it a series with a biweekly cycle of building a new biome. Funny would also be a miniseries of predesigned biome shapes in tedit. You would give out the worlds and people send in their works to give you inspiration or simply enjoy different builds and share your thoughts on them. I am eager to see what your channel will bring in the future. Keep up the good work ^^
I love these videos showcasing smaller changes I wouldn't of even noticed because people aren't talking about them.
I’m sick right now and I’m binge watching your videos, they really cheer me up,also,my favorite part of the update is the shimmer liquid
My favorite part of the labor of love update is the new crossover items its always very cool to see terraria collab with other games
my favorite part of the update, the aether and aether monolith, I love to do space, dark builds, and mythical kind of stuff
Coral block should spawn ambient bubbles when submarged with water
I couldn’t pick my favorite honestly all these changes and updates could not be more fantastically done
I love all the QOL features, Shimmer, drone, everything! I cant pick a favorite!
For my own personal play, the coating/paint update and the echo walls and platforms have been a huge AND natural step up.
Once those changes were introduced, it really spiced up the process and result of building without much time getting to learn how to use it, at least for me.
my favorite thing is probably shimmer its so kool and unique and its verry fun to play around with and experiment with(and its what makes the new RoH) but also the kwad racer thing is pretty neat
Let's gooo the coral buiding blocks look really good especially its colors!
This update brought my siblings back to terraria, and we've been doing bingo speedrun races, with pvp on. so thats fun!
Painted in cyan the wall almost looked like Minecraft prismarine
My favorite part of the update is the new inventory limits. I didn't think 999 was a small number for storage, but having experienced a 9999 limit, I don't think I can go back.
You're great at making a spectacular addition feel half-baked. I can't wait to see you blow me away with the application of the reef blocks.
I love the song khaios, I havn't been keeping up recently, so no clue how long its been there. I love it though. I also like how the video in the background is different each time, don't normally see that.
This just came to my head out of nowhere, but seeing as you could use a world editor to create and/or destroy world block placement, alter block spawns, and what-not, then what if you gathered a group of builders and went to work creating a world from complete scratch, starting from a blank slate? Generate a world(small, medium, large, doesn't matter), TEdit and erase EVERYTHING save for whatever can't be crafted or placed, then just start going nuts with whatever ideas you guys have. Granted, this'll probably need characters in Journey mode who have everything researched, but just think of the possibilities. Entire adventure maps shaped around an idea built from literally nothing, recreating worlds from other media, the map art possibilities, and even just the testing possibilities for the newest patches, to find what breaks. You could do whatever you wanted.
Fish aquarium is what I need in terraria. Seeing my quest fishes swimming inside the tank is my dream in terraria
khaios for your custom world idea I know it would be a huge undertaking but I would completely support it.
Random thing:
With the new Artisan Loaf that increases your crafting range, you can create a crafting area that allows you to craft EVERY SINGLE ITEM (Including roasting marshmallows and shifting item with Shimmer!) by standing in ONE SPOT, no need to move whatsoever aside from turning around to use Shimmer. It's crazy.
I wish I could send images in comments, and I have a feeling links are banned so can't link to an image, but I've made one myself and can confirm you can fit everything from a demon alter, to marshmallows, to liquids for magic droppers.
I’ve yet to play, but I’m looking forward to the building changes and special seeds!
5:15 hmmm this furniture (in particular lamps and candelabra) resembles some kind of alien flora
Town Slimes and the ability to actually hide blocks makes for a much better town building experience, no more unsuitable houses!
im in love with the new furniture
Unfortunately I’ve not been able to jump on since the update, but some of the changes to weapons look like a ton of fun.
The
swords, they just feel so smooth
Your build looks great. You are so talented!
Loving all the recent videos so far
I feel like one long video on the new liquid would be better than a 2 part video. That way when people come for information they get everything they need in 1 place.
One thing I love about this guy s his voice it’s so cool, and his contant.
wow i didnt know you had 293k subs you deserve more you make such helpful videos and when i look at your rope bridge tutorial saw the new 1.4.4 it looks like a new game now!
I am picking up the game again after 4+ years of not playing. There's almost an overwhelming amount of new content but I am so excited to experiment with everything!
i noticed when switching from a summoner loadout to any other with no minion bonuses, sometimes the stardust dragon will become just a head, and it looks so goofy.
you should do a building challenge where the only accessory you can use is the step stool. that would be very enjoyable, high quality content.
Excited to get my hands on these blocks!
The title makes me think of khaios starring at red doing the Kylo Ren "MORE!!!" meme
My favorite part of the update is all the new quality of life stuff, And literally ALL of the new stuff for builders they added.
You can get " dark celestial brick" from luminite brick using shimmer
My favorite part is the new slimes, theyre very cute and fun to get
Same, I'm so glad its not based on pet licenses too!
Just realized that coral blocks have the pillar colors
You know, yesterday I actually did visit the beach to build a shark fin farm for hunter potions, and in the back of my mind I did notice that, but I just assumed it was due to not having played on max brightness in so long and played Terraria for a few weeks (tl;dr: I thought something seemed different but I wasn't sure).
Minecraft: "Thanks to recent updates, our oceans are more vibrant & unique"
Re-Logic: "Hold my Ale"
ive been working on adding all the new stuff to my personal all-items world as well as one i will be uploading to the workshop. im nowhere near done tho 😅
when lava or water touches shimmer you can get a new block
I haven't been able to play the update myself but I love what I'm seeing in your videos thouroughly.
PS: I see you are putting the echo coating to good use already.
3:55 hey look prismarine!
I’ve been enjoying the updated rod of discord and the much needed higher stack limit
Love the new update and love to see the growth of your channel!
@khaios maybe a cool idea for you, an ocean base inside of a giant clam. I don't know how hard that would be but just a suggestion
