the seconde time try without watching the note and if u struggling check the notes again , and the last time try do the homework as if you were in exam ! give urself 1 hour or 30 min to finish in time thats what my dad told me to do and it worked as magic

In class, I would messily scribble them on a random sheet of paper but when I go home, I would neatly rewrite them with lots of colour (with inspiration from this) and detail! It motivates me to study and is tons of fun!

jot down everything quickly in class, then organize and rewrite them when you have time. it's extra work, but you really learn the material through the process, instead of remembering random facts that you'll probably forget right after a test

The point is to take hasty notes in class, then organising them at home. That way you automatically go through what you have learned, while making sure you have clean and organised notes to go back to when you have to study.

Strawbarri during class, you can write "draft" notes on a separate piece of paper like on a yellow pad and when you get home (or when you have time), you can rewrite the notes on your notebook. you could also write down your notes on pencil on your notebook and just fix it when you have time. :)

have two notebooks or at least a notebook and a folder (or if you use a binder have a seperate tab w loose leaf) and write your notes in your normal handwriting without the fancy extra stuff. then when you get home or have free time you can go into the seperate notebook/section and make them all cute. its not only more practical but it's a good study tool too. then put the cute notes in your folder/binder.
I have problems:
When i take notes and even 1 letter looks off, i NEED to throw the paper away and start again. I think it’s such a waist of paper but i just can’t help it! Someone help?
Use white out. If it's a colored paper buy a few of those and tints so that you have a variety of those.

christina qi This is what I do: take a old/unfinished notebook you don't use, in class quickly jot down everything. Then at home organize the notes and put it down in your actual notebook. This helps study since your writing it down a second time.

Just my opinion, I think that when taking notes.. I actually prefer the black pen or blue pen (depends what i am using) only because ain't nobody have time for that bruh but if your professor, teacher or instructor recommend you to just research or rewrite the pages of the books in your notebook, Never mind me.. But I like studying with plain black/blue pen and just highlight impotant details only.. But, If you like it that way then continue. Thnx.
Same! I think that taking a different pen for a few words and then switching out is such a waste of time, if you have highlighters, why don't you use them? Plus, I like the way highlighters look lol

i have terrible handwriting that'll never improve. whenever i have new teachers they always look at my work as if i have never picked a pen in my life before and this was the outcome. but that little note you gave about not having nice handwriting, yet it still being awesome was the highlight of my day, thank you.

Then, I met a passionate old English teacher
who had obsession with Natural English.
So, it was like "Two things added together", which was tough.
But, when it was done, it was super amazing.
It's a long journey.

Amazing & creative notes. For all those who have a problem in taking notes like this, I have an idea. We can just take notes with a simple pen and when we get home then we can decorate it beautifully

That means a lot 😄 I got my coloured pens and a few of my black pens from Muji (there's one in Toronto, but there might be some where you live or you could order them online. They're my FAVOURITE pens!!). The highlighters are called mildliners and I ordered them on Amazon (they're not available here in Canada). I also got a set of black pens from ikea. And my brush tip pen is the brand Tombow (it's a Japanese brand but I bought it at an art supply store)

As pretty as this is, this type of handwriting wastes tons of time. You'll be better off learning to write cursive, to cut paragraphs into bullet points, and to use few colored pens.

rubat0 Thanks! Yeah sometimes writing more in depth helps me at the beginning, but I condense things a lot afterward (mind mapping is great for that)

Oh, in a scientific study it shows cursive and fancy fonts help people study. The fonts make the brain do more work to read the words, which activates a part of the brain which helps you memorize and stay more focused. I don't remember all the details though. So the cursive fonts do help!
And dividing topics and seperating them by writing them in different colours helps too. Like for example if you wrote how to for example divide something on the same page as how to multiply, you would write the division part in lets say green, and the multiplication part in maybe blue.
I'm going to use this to study Japanese!

I love writing my notes like this and I have all the materials I need to do so period but the thing is is that in class when we're actually taking her notes I don't have the time to do it this way. Our teacher expects us to jot down a paragraph in two minutes.

If you cant do that with your notes litterally someone made a video where they like are like use a notebook to write all of it so you dont take too much time and write all of it as fast as you need for the time being and than later write them pretty and perfect and nice at home or at lunch or after the time

It sucks because DURING school, we have to take notes the way they want us to. But I like taking notes with colorful pens and highlighters. Making boxes, borders, and other stuff. It actually makes stuff interesting

What I do for notes is that I take all of the notes in pencil and then after doing my homework (if I have time), I rewrite all of my notes into my ideal format.
Not only do my notes look nicer, rewriting the work instead of just rereading it when studying proves to help me remember more efficiently.

galina, mine too..I take notes in pencil in class that too only key terms and then go home and make it pretty..its a gr8 way to revise too..take a pic of the page on your smartphone/camera erase everything then on used paper make a list of what was on there..cross check with the image and then release that inner picasso ;)

(Also my own little tip, cause my teacher are all very quick speakers and don't tell you what to write, I usually quickly make ugly rushed notes on spare paper and rewrite them all nice because when it looks nice it helps me study, but I don't have time to make them look all aesthetic when the teacher's speaking)

This is clearly an ad for stationary. The best notes are those you take in your own words. Listen to the teacher, read the text book, think about it, apply it to something you know already. Write down your own understanding of what was said. What colour it is in or how good it looks is irrelevant and distracting. All you need is a HB pencil.

All that doesn't always work if the teacher is going through things fast
Silver Tune Most teachers don't talk slow enough for you to be able to take good notes like this. Usually, you have to just quickly write messy notes in class and then re-write them at home. It helps your brain memorize the information as well because you're writing all the info down a second time.
