I'm here to learn about this one. Interesting about the release button. I can see why you got the ceramic insert to go with this model. Thanks, Doug. You are helpful when shopping for an Instant Pot. I'm finally ready to pull the trigger and get a small one. Mostly, I want mine to make lots and lots of beans and lentils. And yoghurt looks fun. What a beautiful machine! I love my instant pot so much. I use it every single week, and can't imagine not having it now. It's not fancy like this one, so when it's time for a new one, I'd love one like this with the added features. Thanks for sharing.
That thing is where its at for 2 people or a bachelor. I swear this thing can do it all, plus the futuristic look got the girl bein like "Yaaa you can keep it on the counter" and like many people say about the Mini, its small enough where u dont mind it, I have a bigger pressure cooker 6 quart before and it was too big to leave layin around, this u dont mind it.

I have an older 3 quart IP, not as fancy, but it is great for traveling. I also have a 2 quart I bought at a QVC outlet for $18.75. Great for eggs.

As always, Doug, you're the man. Thanks. I have a 3qt., purchased for my motorcoach (and honestly, just because I WANTED IT!). Instant Pot quality is so good. Thank you for implying that a 3qt. might be your everyday PC. Me too. And , BTW, I've been loving my 6qt IP for years at home.
Dog-gone you Doug - lol - I have the IP Ultra 6qt - wanted the 3 qt ultra but couldn’t find the 3qt ultra - settled for the 3qt duo plus - and then just saw your new video with the new 3 qt ultra - and of course - it has a link to the a 3qt ultra so followed link and ordered it! Amazon - snoozed and lost on this one! They get the 3qt plus back and Surlatable got a new customer! 3qt ultra ordered and I am sitting by the door waiting - :)

Hey Doug. I left a comment for you when you got your 3 qt. mini duo IP about this particular IP Ultra 3 qt.from Sur La Table.I got my 6 qt. IP Ultra just like you do and really like the total design with the dial, scrolling, and lead you through the step by step functionality. (Bought mine at Sur La Table) I hate any PC with too many buttons--way too confusing for me. It's all a matter of preference I suppose, but this one works best for me, even though it is a little pricey. It is one beautiful and great machine. Just wish they would have designed this in a 4 qt instead of a 3 qt. I think they should make all of these IP/Pressure cookers in even quart amounts.... 2,4,6,8,10, and 12 quart sizes. Again, just a matter of personal preference. Good luck with your new 3 qt. IP Ultra. We're all waiting for you to cook up some good food to share with all of us watching here.

Great review, love your channel, just joined your fb group (haven’t been on fb in years, but seems it’s like the place to be for instant pots etc). I have the Ultra 6 Qt, will def get this one if I buy a second. Having the release button separated from the steam valve seems so much safer, and I would never remember to manually close the valve every time I start pressure cooking like with the DUO. Plus you can hold the release button halfway down if you just want to release some pressure without doing a full-on instant release.

Another thing, anyone who know about pressure cooking knows you can turn a piece of junk meat from the store into tender amazingness, I always wanted an all in 1 solution got the slow cooker, got the pressure, got the rice, but these new cookers got it all.

6qt 4sure!! You can always cook small in a bigger pot..but u cant ever cook big in a small pot :)

Didn't they just recall instapot I just seen it on the news the other day not sure what size but the complaint was the unit comes apart fire hazard
It wasn't the pressure cooker they recalled. They recalled the Instant Pot GEM Multi Cooker, not any of the pressure cookers.

Walmart is suppose to take it back and either give you a new one or store credit. If you still have receipt that helps or even the UPC code. I printed up recall notice from Instant Pot and some one in Gem group posted picture of UPC code so I printed that up also. CS didn't know about it, but as soon as they keyed in UPC code it showed as being recalled. There are certain batch numbers that are recalled, so not sure if yours is or not.
