The best I got in practice run was like, 280 or 290ish? but I wasn't able to record it sadly. But that was like, when the whole run was perfect to the bone. This video shows my actual run :p

Thanks, using the foxes makes it 100pc possible to target your ryuuseis at Suruga at the times she stops moving. And with the increased avi and damage from nagato, they'll deal good damagr
1st try
Ran Akaga, Nagato, and your exact vanguard.
Everyone's lvl 120 except Helena who was lvl 119.
Did 180k dmg but the entire vanguard died with 10 seconds left.
It takes time to adjust to it becuase suruga releases a big barrage every 20 seconds you have to sort of distance yourself or your whole vanguard gets destroyed. My first run with this was a little over 130k damage. But if everything works out right, youll get over 200+ with no effort
I got her down to the 45 on the HP bar with Centaur, Formidable, Enterprise / Tanikaze kai, Kagerou kai, and Ibuki (the classic torp meme fleet). Works like a charm with centaur and formidable both using ryuuseis
Sadly, formidable, centaur, kagerou, and tanikaze are not even lvl 120 in my fleet so I couldnt do it. My only 100+ carriers are hiryuu, enty, and essex

My fleet : Mornach , Enterprise, centaur, ayanami, Helena, saint Louis ( I don't have jintsu :'( ) , best dmg I can deal is 276k , my Enterprise use ryusei , Mornach can slow boss with barrage so all torp bomber will hit suruga , with centaur buff and lucky E, Enterprise can deal a lot of damage
Yeah, this video was actually made when the EX was released on day 1. These were my initial impressions. The best I've gotten now is around 340k
My vanguards are Jintsuu,Ayanami and Yukikaze, all of them with rainbow torps and maxed out. If we facetorp at the right time the damage can juice out 10× of Suruga's HP. My problem is when I do that, they died like 15 seconds before times up. That leaves the best I could do was 180k+ average damage. Any ideas what backline shoud I use?
I think the problem you're facing right now isn't the backline, but rather, your playstyle. I had a similar problem with my vanguard but I just tried to find a way to evade her two attacks at the 20 second mark: the torps and bullet barrage. After practicing, I was able to time my strikes properly and survived :)
If you still want that backline advice, others said centaur enty and monarch. I'd still advice the nakaga pair since it gives a 100pc chance to hit th le ryuuseis both times she stops. If you want defensive, there's illustrious.

55-65 remain, and once managed to 50 in test run
... I only average 80-100k :-( I don't have any lvl 120's so I think that's about my limit. Most of my lvl 100+ ships are royal and sakura, so I'm playing around with a mixed fleet. I have too many good backliners and to few DPS vanguards... tanking with the front while battleships and carriers do all the work doesn't really work with such a small time limit.
Yeah... haha the vanguards actually are the main damage dealers here since they have high crit and torpedoes are just insane. Backlines don't do that well due to her fast movement and evasion. However, no need to worry about dealing high damage, your aim is just to get over 120 contribution points, if you get lower, id suggest doing the hard mode instead :)
@@Times1065 yeah. the fox twins do ok with 3 launches, but i'm currently trying to lvl up some high DPS vanguards. It sort of sucks for me since destroyers have great dps and its the ship type I use least.

If you've played long enough you'll realize Azur Lane isn't pay to win. You can be this strong without spending a dime. What you can't get though, is the satisfaction of seeing your waifu in bikinis, sleepwear, or school uniform. Which is something I can't bear for my fav shipgirls
I just auto it , with monarch,warkai,DoY - roon,helena,nep , i get it down to around 44-50 bars
