After the Z9 was released,I knew back then that I was going to switch to a mirrorless camera but which one. So, I decided to purchase some Z lenses instead based on some useful information by watching photographers like Matt Irwin and the rest👍. So I bought what I regard as the Trinity of Z lenses : Z 70-200 VR S 2.8, the Z 24 -70 2.8 and the Z14-24 2.8. When the Z8 was released I was lucky to receive mine on the day after release which was a great birthday present. I am now patiently awaiting my Z 180-600 which I think would be just fantastic for birding, as I love shooting wildlife as well as Landscape. I love shooting Nikon if not for the colours that are produced but the quality and feel, and I'm only a beginner that's just got started at 66.
Good video , good information. Personally since im a landscape photographer that also does some macro sometimes, my trinity is the Nikkon Z 14-30mm F4 S, the Nikkon 24-120mm F4 S and the Nikkon 100-400mm f4.5-f5.6 S. As for macro, the Nikkon z 105mm S and the 24-120mm also can produce some good macro results.
Z 100-400 f4.5-5.6S is great for birding, also use a 1.4 teleconverter at times. Waiting in the Z 180-600 soon to arrive The Z 14-28 is a great lens especially for landscape. Z105 macro sharp as well. The Z 24-120 is a great walk around lens. My Z 8 camera is a great camera to pair with most any lens.
Too many idiots keep saying best lens for this or that... , I have both Z8 and Z9, and I use all the Z native lenses. ( usually F 1.4 and F2.8) all them work perfect. ) it is subjective depends what you.

Excellent, thanks for sharing! The Z 180-600 mm is supposed to be a great wildlife lens, lighter than expected too.
I'm perfectly happy with my 14-30mm f4, 24-120mm f4 and 180-600mm f5.6 - 6.3 lenses for my Z8. :)
What do you think of the tamron 35-150 f 2- 2.8 compare to the 24- 120 S lens
I'm very happy with my light and sharp 400mm f4. 5 for birds photography I also have the versatile 24-120 f4 paired with z8

The new Tamron 35-150mm f2-2.8 replaces the 24-70mm f2.8 for me.
