My son started Qsymia in January. He was 290lbs. It is April 1st and he is currently taking 7.5 mg. He is now 265lbs. He is 15. He is also prediabetic. We have been trying diet and exercise for years. Qsymia is the only thing that has worked so far.
Thank you for your weight loss journey experience. I too started with contrave and it was horrible. Waiting on Insurance company to approve Qysmia. Not very hopeful with them paying.. I may be paying myself. So your cost was helpful.
I'm currently taking contrave for the past 6 months. I thought at first it may be effective, but as time goes by, nothing. I almost feel my cravings are stronger. I'm going to ask my Dr to switch me to qsymia.
@@Liz-xr1pr going great so far!!! I’m on week 3 and already down 15 pounds it’s crazy!!! The only thing I didn’t like but very minor was the first 2 days I experienced severe dry mouth no matter how much water I drank but I was fine after that. Just keep gum around at all times 🤣

Congratulations to him. I would suggest he continues to eat healthy and some form of exercise or the weight will come back.

How are you doing? I tried Contrave but the side effects were too much. I'm getting an Rx for Qsymia today.
I like Qsymia. It is supposed to be used short term. My son lost 25lbs in 3 months. He is still taking it.

What sucks about Contrave?
Yes, it was not my favorite. AT ALL. I had bad headaches, felt sick all the time, and my skin got super dry.

What was the reasoning for your insurance no longer paying ?
They told me it was just no longer covered. :(
