I miss NCL STAR..one years before corona attack .im working in norwegian star my posision utilty galley
I've watched a lot of your videos, but just now subscribed. I found a cruise I might want to take in the future on the Star and really enjoyed your professional tour of the ship. Thanks for all you do for us.
Thank you Nancy! So happy you subscribed!
Excellent ship tour. One of the best I have seen.
+F Dowd thank you so much 😊
loved the video. we will be sailing on the star in norway out of copenhagen in a little over a month. this was so helpful. we have sailed norwegian before, but not the star.
+skateycat sounds like a fantastic trip, enjoy! Thanks for the comment :-)
Once again you knocked it out of the park. I am sharing this with our meet and greet group.
Thanks ever so much for sharing the video with your group. We had a wonderful trip!
sounds like you're cruising soon too?
Yes...aka Linda the Book Lover. Looking forward to being onboard.
Oh yes! I know you from CC!
I went on this ship when it was in Hawaii, before it got painted! Things on this ship have definitely changed
Thanks for posting this really helpful and informative video. We are to cruise to the Baltics in two weeks on this ship. The theatre looks great. really classic.
+beaufighter245 Our pleasure. Thank you for watching and we wish you a lovely sailing to the Baltics. That sounds like the experience of a lifetime.
Thank you so much for this review! We'll be sailing the Star in October and can't wait!
Our pleasure! Wishing you a terrific sailing Steve.
Steve, we hope to return but don't have plans to as the ship is leaving our home port. However, we will be on the Jewel this fall.
Awesome, thank you! Have a blast on the Jewel!
How was it?
Great video! Would love to see more tours.
+Christy G. thanks so much! We would too. We hope to get back onboard later this year.
I went on this when I was younger, it was fun! Except we went through a storm and the ship was very tilty.
This brought back some memories. My first cruise was on the Norwegian Star over NYE 2007/2008. Back then, the Spinnaker Lounge was an observation lounge on a forward upper deck, above the bridge. Great times.
Wow! I think we were on Star in 2007 too. We got a crazy upsell call for a forward facing balcony. It was a trip to face forward. Sometimes, our steward locked the balcony door due to winds. Bad lounge noise beneath us but man, that cabin was sweet!
CruiseTipsTV I have a habit of meeting people everywhere I go - something my wife likes to tease me about. One of her favorite stories was when we were walking down one of the corridors on day 5 or 6 and we passed this woman who said, "Hi PJ!". My now wife (we were dating at the time) looked at me quizzically and said, "Who was that?" I replied, "Oh, that's the captain's girlfriend. I approached him in the hall a couple days ago and he introduced me."
That was her first glimpse of what it was going to be like to travel with me!
Incidentally, that meeting with the captain also got me an invitation to tour the bridge, which I was just ecstatic about.
That is SO awesome that you scored a bridge tour. Amazing what a little friendliness can do.
I'll be sailing on her this Sunday, thanks for the vid, well made and informative. This will be my first time sailing on a non-Carnival ship lol!
Wishing you a terrific trip! We are big carnival cruisers as well. You'll like ncl. Just be prepared, the dining room food is not as good on NCL, in my opinion. On our last cruise, we bought the ultimate dining package and ate in only specialty restaurants. The buffet and great outdoors and O'Sheehans are also good options.
I'm currently writing a live day by day review on cruise critic if you'd like to see photos and hear more about what we did:
boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2280500
+CruiseTipsTV Will do and thanks!
playboymaxim if you go on NCL again each ship is laid out differently so if you go again the Library if it is on the left side of the ship for this ship for example but it is on the right side of the ship for the Norwegian Pearl
Hello everyone see u in August
With my mum see you take care and stay safe
It's a fun ship
Thank you for sharing!!!!!❤
Thanks for watching!
I enjoyed the Nor Star cruise except for two nights. Our cabin was situated over the auditorium and for two nights the Filipino crew members decided to party it up with a super loud live band past 3:00 am. The noise was so intense we could not sleep and felt like shit for two days for lack of sleep.
Road this ship back in 2009. Miss this place. Me and my family aware going on a Disney cruise on Sunday. I miss the Norwegian Star so much and this is very accurate
+Ayden C Have a wonderful time on your Disney cruise. I've heard nothing but good things about the line.
thnx! It was fun! I loved it. I reccomend it to everybody. The food is amazing and the waiters are amazing! On the Dream, the boat I went on, the waiters followed you to every resturant. idk if that happens on the other boats but it was awesome!
I am going on this ship in August this really helped don't forget when u get to your room when u board u will participate in an emergency drill before they depart
+cheryl doyle Very true! Thank you!
My brother is working there for 8 or 9 months missing him im lucky cuz he is going home before my b day
love the video
+Noah James Thank you!
your voice almost put me in a coma....not bad coma... good coma....lol
I worked there long time ago
My group will be cruising on the Star next week. Are all the restaurants free dining, and if not, which ones have charges? Hopefully the staterooms were renovated as well.
Because that is our room we are staying in in August
I was on the ship in 2012
Thanks. Love your reviews.
We usually cruise Princess, but looking at Norwegian because they have some interesting itineraries. If you are reading these comments (I know it’s an old video) do you have any thoughts on what differences we might notice?
I have been on both. I love freestyle cruising which is no formal nights and no set dining times. Princess is comparable in other ways. This ship has about 2400 passengers. I don’t like the mammoth ships
Yes I mean muster drills thank u
Wasnt there an arcade?? I looked on the website
Your welcome if u need anything more let me know I can help
Okay thanks
Very informative, thank you! We are first time cruisers, we're going in October.
+Fran Hawver Thank you! Wishing you a wonderful cruise. Let us know if you have any questions.
Sign me up for Hibachi! That and Brazilian food I could eat every day. Pretty atrium. Looks like you would have to be on a transatlantic to start to get bored on that ship.
Indeed. Just with dining alone, there's lots to entertain. The crew are very special too :-)
Hi
Great video.
We are looking at booking Forward rooms on deck 5, either 5510 or 5010 just above the convention center and behind the Theater . Do you happen to remember this part of the ship? There is a blank area on the deck plans that runs between port and starboard (between the two rooms listed, do you know what this space was used for?
Thanks
Mark Ballarat Austaralia
Hey! I am not sure, but if those cabins mentioned are "front and low", I'd be very cautious. If it is near a lounge or theatre you will have noise issues.
Hey @cruisetipstv can u do a cabin room tour of 100011 please
+cheryl doyle I wish we could get back on the ship but we likely won't this year! Sorry!
+cruisetipstv can u do a video on evacuation drills on cruise ship
+cheryl doyle we don't know much about them but we will research!
+cheryl doyle do you mean muster drills? If so, we have an episode in the works!
This looks like a fun ship! What was your itinerary for this cruise?
It was a 7 night out of Los Angeles to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. Yes, the ship is fun! Very festive and well laid out showing it's age in some ways, but still terrific.
I am curious. This ship was just here in Portland, Oregon for a refurb. Is this video pre or post referb? thanks in advance.
Excellent question. This video was shot prior to the refurbishment in December 2014. Can't wait to see the updates.
CruiseTipsTV Thanks for the reply. I would love to see the updates also. We are going on the Carnival Conquest in February 2016 if you have a video for that ship, let me know. thx in advance
I been on this ship several times on an Alaska cruise.....
How was it overall? Any seasickness? I'll be going on it in 12 days
Hello,
did you see any pool or billiard table on board this Norwegian Star?
I need this info please thank you
+Nigel Midnight I don't believe so, but to be doubly sure I suggest you post your question at Cruise critic.com in the forums
+Nigel Midnight As a person who worked 2 contracts on this ship I can tell you there is no pool or billard table on the Ship.
This cruise was in Azores on April 29th, I did a beautiful tour with some of the guests, check the video here ruclips.net/video/p8BbFW1MUPo/видео.html
Do you know if the grand princess is a sister ship to the crown princess
Allison, no, they are different classes of ships with Crown being much newer. Don't hesitate to let me know if you have further questions. Also, if you haven't already, check out the boards on cruisecritic.com. there are lots of answers there.
We love every princess ship we've been on
They age well.
Allison, here is some helpful info on the crown:

Blue lagoon everyday
👍👍👍👍💐💐💐💐💐🙏🙏
This ship looks like it has a lot to offer. Is it just me or does this ship look like it's in need of a refurbishment?
It's old, but holding up quite well. It could use some room renovations, for sure.
We were just on the Star in September and it has been refurbished since this video was made. Quite a few changes to the locations of some of the bars and restaurants. They now have a "5 O'Clock Somewhere" Margaritaville Bar where the English Pub used to be and now have O'Sheehan's Irish Pub on Deck 8 above the Lobby. Moderno Brazilian Restaurant has been moved up to Deck 13 next to Cagney's Steak House. This video didn't show any of the staterooms so not sure if those have been updated, however we were in a Family Suite and it was very nice. I would definitely take another cruise on the Star again.
This video is from January 2015. The ship was dry-docked in March 2015 and refrurbished + new cabins added.
That circle talking at the very end of the video is scary. :|
Dear God that was painfully too long
Awful ship worst cruise ever….
