This summer I might be onboard this ship for a long and overdue vacation. The last time I went on a cruise vacation was in 2012 on the Disney Dream. This is also might be my first cruise on this line. I've been on other lines, Royal Caribbean, Carnival and Disney's official cruise line. You can tell from this comment that I am in long overdue need of a cruise vacation.

We just got off of this and were disappointed. In fact, not only did it turn us off to NCL; it turned us off to cruising altogether! We sailed the "Pride of America" (NCL) in Hawaii and it was so fantastic- we couldn't wait to go on this European trip!! From stateroom reassingments that caused trouble for our party to port troubles, expensive over-priced excursions, to stateroom attendant who gave half-service- we had to strip our beds to get him to change it as there were stains to staff that were usually impatient (though cafe staff and Taste/Savor/Tropicana/ O'Sheehans were very nice) and gave nowhere near the level of courteousness that other cruises have provided. Food was decent to good. Noodle bar waitress was impatient and hurried us along, but the food was amazing! The drinks we have on ships are usually fruity, delicious and spot-on. We tried 2 drinks and never ordered after that- they were watered down and one guest observed the bartender POURING RAIL ALCOHOL INTO PREMIUM ALCOHOL BOTTES- EXTREMELY ILLEGAL! The "trick" of"FREE AT SEA" ended up being a bit of a rip-off. The one good free thing was that we got a free specialty dining (but not for everyone in our stateroom which made no sense)- we dined at Cagney's steakhouse and it was great! KNOW BEFORE YOU GO- we assumed the previous excellence we had on the Hawaii cruise and found none of it on this one. Also, (and probably a reason the crew were a bit apathetic)= they're worked to death 7 days a week for at least 10 hours a day! That fact alone turned us off from cruising- it was the tipping point- that's like slavery. Even if they know the deal before signing. it's taking extreme advantage of the crew who for the most part were just tired, cranky and overworked. We've been on other cruises where the crew had some time off each week of at least 1 day. We will never tour NCL again! PS- the Starbucks package: many guests said it wasn't worth it. The coffee onboard (we've never had bad coffee on ANY cruise: Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Princess or NCL- we've taken a lot of cruises)...except on the Getaway- the coffee was ridiculously strong- and I like strong coffee...however, i had to put 1/2 a cup of half and half and it was STILL too bitter/strong...all week long. The coffee in the Cagney's was better, but everywhere else was horrible.
