BOOT FOOT WADERS ARE MY GO TOO! My Prayers go out to the whole family for your loss!🙏🏾
Hey Edward sorry to hear about your loss man. I can definitely speak for your audience and say we are thinking of you!
The bootfoot/stockingfoot debate is a tough one. For the surf specifically id say a bootfoot wader is probably best for the beach being way more sand proof. With that said I do find myself wearing stocking foot mostly because of the lightness of them walking miles on the beach and the comfort. I guess it comes down to for me how far you plan on waking. Awesome vid man!
I have a pair of Patagonia very spendy sockfoot waders. They are at least 10+ years old so they have lasted a really long time. About $300 when on sale. I have used them for fly fishing, duck hunting and surf fishing. Used lace up boots until this last season but they were a pain in the butt to get on and off. You older fisherman will relate to that. I looked for something easier to don and wound up with a pair of neoprene zip up boots. Turned out they were harder to get off cause the sand clogged the zipper spaces. After three uses the zippers completely froze and I had to cut them off. Yes I rinsed the heck out of them with a high pressure hose first. Was about to buy some boot foots and got the thought that maybe a pair of Crocs would work. Bought the Crocs 1 size bigger than my foot size with an adjustable heel strap (very important to keep them on your feet). Been using the Crocs ever since. They are super easy to get on and off, weigh almost nothing and don't load up with sand cause it just flushes out the holes. Not recommending the super spendy waders but they sure have lasted a long time. Any sock foot waders should work fine. A final caveat on the Crocs is that the soles don't grip anything so stay off slippery rocks or dry rocks with sand on them cause you will fall.
So glad you this review, something I needed. Now I just picked up some Bassdash wader for the surf.
Condolences on your loss and i'm glad u got to provide perch for your family! Perch community is awesome! Agree boot waders help keep the sand out .
Condolences on the loss, my friend!
I would love a pair of either of those waders! For right now I use heavy duty marsh waders meant for hunting because it's all I have. I just need to be careful and not wade too far into the surf, and they work just fine! Waders have changed the game for me. I wasn't catching anything until the day I put them on!☝️🇺🇲
I own both versions of waders and my "go-to" are the stocking foot. The reason is that I don't like to be bogged down by heavy boots especially walking to the surf to fish especially when parking is not in close proximity.
Many blessings to you and your family for the loss of your cousin.
I've had stocking foot for years. Main part for comfort is the boots you use with them. I went to a surf shop and use neoprene booties with a good rubber sole not to stiff for an added extra maybe $40 if hit discounted ones and are good for many years. Time comparison eh if under 5 min each are still in water. Nice comparison.
I did exactly the same thing - except I bought my dive booties on Amazon. I bought booties that were 2 sizes larger than I normally wear. The one issue I have is that I bought zip-up booties and I can't zip them up over the waders. I do think the dive booties are better than regular boots for the surf. I bought the sock-foot waders because I had read several reviews talking about leaks at the boot-to-wader seams.
Stocking foot with good wader boots so much more comfortable for me. The Frog Togg Aransas II boots are awesome.
I got simms freestone with the matching boots and they’re great! Does take some time to put on both but worth!
For me i prefer sockfoot. I use felt liner boot when on slippery rocks but regular boot for most everything else.
I had stocking foot and they were so uncomfortable the water and sand created so much pressure. Ended up getting simms boot foot waders and are the best much comfortable.
Always good to wear boots or waders on that beach to you dont get your feet cut, or a fish hook in your foot, ot a stingray jab in your leg!
also with the boots, it you get the felt bottoms, it does not slip on mossy rock,
Thanks for this good info!
Boot foot.. had them both..
I like the boot foot better.
First and foremost i want to send my deepest condolences to you and your family.
Love your videos man keep your head up 🙏🏼
Condolences bud.
I prefer sock foot waders with crocks. A lot more comfortable walking around especially in the sand.
Stocking foot waders i like because i dont have to spend another 120.00 for special shoes.
Looks like the 8 Fans Waders are sold out. I got some boot waders for surf fishing. Keeping the sand out of my boots is key to being at the shore all day long. Love your videos!
Oh no! but yes, bootfoot is the way to go if youre only going to be on sand! thanks for the support! saw your IG DM BTW
@@Hook2Cook Can you recommend Orange County beaches that are best for fishing? I haven't had any luck yet. Thank you!
@@jadejou17 sorry not familiar that far south
@@Hook2Cook thank you just the same!!
May God's blessings and comfort be with you, and your family. Love your videos.
If you have ever worn wetsuits if you don't rinse them out really good it creates funky smells. I understand you don't pee in your waders lol but ocean does still create smell.
So sorry about your cousin. Should be a good striped bass year, There already here in the surf on lower monterey beaches.
I'm sorry for your loss 🙏🏾🕊️
Our condolences for your family’s loss. I have a question. Where, general area, were you guys fishing? I went out Saturday in the HMB area and got dragged under by a rogue wave… luckily I had stocking foot waders with my boots on… which I lost to the waves. Otherwise I would have drowned. If anyone finds some size 14 Simms Freestone boots … consider them a lucky find.
All of my deepest condolences to you and your family my friend I know and I understand who it feels losing a loved one I lost my parents I lost my mom to pulmonary disease on November 10 of 2019 and I lost my dad to colon cancer on Christmas morning of 2021 my parents were my Best friends I have a lot of beautiful memories with my father going Pier fishing 🎣 and enjoying are time together I miss my parents dearly 🕊️🙏😢 sending you a big hug my friend
For surf, boot since you are not walking treacherous rivers with slippery rocks.
I rather use the boot foot waders. But I have noticed when I walk I hit my toes a lot and it hurts. Any tips?
Thicker socks or size down? Maybe even insoles.
Do you ever do any pier fishing?
rarely now but i grew up doing it
I fish trout rivers, so thinking the boot foot wouldn't be the choice
Anybody has experience with pant waders ?
Condolences on your family's loss.
The only thing I dislike about stocking foot is that my feet get super cold in the winter compared to my insulated boot foot waders.
So sorry about your cousin...
Wrong on durability. Grinding your stocking foot waders with sand every time out will ruin them in no time. Surf fishermen who know wear bootfoot waders.
