This was hillarious
Same
Hahaha so true😭😭😭😂😂😂😂

Beautiful in a way o
Ashley talking about her parents just shows the power words can have on kids
I only realized it a year or so ago but my parents have done the same thing with me and they continue to. I feel like it definitely helps your kid grow and become who they are supposed to be and it is 100% something I will do with my kid.
What Ashley says about her family life and her parents is so revealing. That even tho they didn’t spoil her with material things like vacations abroad or post-its, they loved and encouraged her, helped her develop a sense of confidence and agency (even over her dreams!). How much she likes (not just loves) her family and wants to help and share their burden, how close the siblings are, all reflect what a great job Mr & Mrs A have done as parents.
Ashley is clearly a result of good parenting
yes!! i love to see it and it gives me hope that i can create a human like that :)
For sure, it makes me a little jealous. I was always disciplined hard and not encouraged and had to do more than all my siblings as the older child. It’s left me burnt out and discouraged.
Annemarie has the potential to be a top tier podcast host!
They’re sleeping on her
Literally
@@aymankarroum4032 who? the roommates? no they are not sleeping on her.
@@aymankarroum4032 why do u think that?
@@nessiepeiris5776 I may be looking into it too much but she feels like she’s on outside of their bubble, like Kelly or something would just disregard her opinions.
kelly trying not to seem like such a simp when he was describing ashley is adorable hahahaha
"I don't use the word failure ever. I just do things. If it works out then it works out - and usually it does if you have the mindset that it works out." Big Ye energy 🙌🏽 respect to Ashley ily girl!
watching Kelly just admire and smile at Ashley while she talks is really sweet
5:30 it’s so funny when anne-marie spoils the surprise lmfao
14:39 Ashley explaining how her parents always validated her - this is such an important thing to do as parents because mine were sometimes discouraging which is why I grew up having so much doubts. If you are reading this, ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOURSELF AND WHAT YOU WANT TO HAVE OR BE IN LIFE. I followed my parents' wants for me, and here I am - very insecure and a little lost in life lol I know they want the best for me but sometimes it can be suffocating.. trying my best tho :) trying to find my passion. Hope you all find your passion in life too!!
I can definitely agree on this! Most parents honestly don’t realize how powerful their words can truly impact on their kids. Usually my mom would say hurtful words & I know she may not realize and may not entirely mean it but it still hurts my inner soul and my self-esteem in some way and it’s the main reason why sometimes as a daughter/son we feel the need to move out but at the same time we don’t want to because we value our parents, overall it’s a hard decision because sometimes our trauma or negative thoughts begins within our family or at least it did for me. I wish anyone who experience this kind of conflict will and can achieve success in their life, stay strong!
@@classyme7533 exactly. Also probably why right now, I can't bring myself to have kids (maybe at least not yet) but if I feel like I am content, and emotionally (financially/physically) prepared to have a child, I'll make sure to shower them with validation!!
DO WHAT EXCITES
wow as someone whos parents never validated them even today i 100% agree and relate to this
@@MSkp4wo we will be free ☺️🙏🏻
I relate a lot to Ashley on how she says she’s always felt her role was to help out her parents. I think that it’s part of being the first daughter and having to take on roles younger siblings would probably never even realize. My literal dream in life is to be able to pay back my parents for everything they did for me and to be able to help them out financially with my siblings.
Omg anne marie’s laugh in the beginning is giving me so much life right now
ANNEMARIE SPOILING ELLIOTS GIFT IM CRYINGGGG
The growing up half Asian and full Asian talk should be a whole podcast. I would love to hear how different there lives were growing up and how differently an half Asian person had it compared to full Asian.
Exactly especially where she and her siblings grew up they were the only Asians in town
I'd love to hear y'all talk more about asian topics! The experience of being half asian, stories, identity stuff, what's it like having a lot of asian youth following and looking up to y'all, etc!
Ashley actually talked about this on her own podcast with her siblings!
@@ayakonaw thanks for lmk! i used to listen to her podcast, but looks like i missed that episode!
When Kelly called her out for forgetting her bday I lost it😂😂😂
the throat chakra thing is actually super interesting - i do think women are societally conditioned to self-moderate their emotions/expression
I never knew that Ashley ends almost every long sentence with “mhm.” Her videos on her own channel are obviously edited so that’s probably why I never realized she has that habit but it’s so interesting to see.
She doesn't really do it as often in the other podcasts, so I guess this time since she was a bit more nervous it came out more. (Understandable since she's like the center of attention here)
Now I can’t unfocus on hearing mhm 😂
don’t call it out 😭 jeez I didn’t even notice until I saw ur comment
@@dinakarassane4123 she can edit her podcasts too though:)
I think the whole thing about friends too is interesting because as an adult you’re no longer surrounded by people w similar interests (school, income, location etc) so it’s hard to put yourself out there.
I actually understand what Ashley says about reading things off the page in your mind without having to close your eyes, sometimes I have to keep my eyes open to not loose the image of what I'm trying to remember. I thought everybody did that hahaha
I've been a subscriber of Ashley's for years and I can't help but be incredibly proud of her. She knows what she wants and puts the hard work and effort to achieve those. No wonder she's successful and I have no doubt that she will grow even further. :) Truly an inspiration to everyone around her! ❤️
i literally love Ashley she is such a hardworker
Ashley literally just looking at Kelly every 5 seconds while she’s talking
confidence and ego are different things i feel and i feel like ashley is someone with loads amount of confidence and little ego. shes a wonderful role model
the elliott and Annemarie looks and glances are literally my favorite things-for example 52:00 bahaha
kelly holding back his first impressions / compliments about ashley is the cutest thing ever!!!
I love these so much, highlight of my week
They way that Ashley describes herself and the way she grew up literally reminds me of myself except the supporting parents part
Kept refreshing yesterday for this ep! so glad its up now
this has been my fav episode so far!
Being introvert is not necessarily being quiet i think, it’s about the way you get your energy back so if you really want to be alone after a day of socializing you’re probably an introvert, and if you’re alone and want to be around people to recharge you’re probably an extrovert. There are also introverted extroverts which i think suits ashley? :)
Was waiting for this and y’all came thru with an hour and a half 😩😩
died when the trip was spoiled. was so funny for no reason 😭😭😭
been watching ashley’s vids for a while now so i’m happy to see how far she’s come & to hear her origin story!! :D love u ashley!
I normally don’t like podcasts but I just love everything your moms house does!!
kelly talking about ashley’s qualities made my heart melt
okay but everything you said about testing and writing notes was so accurate, like
When Ashley described how she dreams, I literally relate to that. That’s how I dream too. I felt weird when others didn’t dream the same way and discovered that it isn’t that common. Being able to go back into the same dream after waking up or like just waking up
I’ve changed my nightmares as well before
I also do this. Sometimes my dreams are smart such that I wake up inside the dream 🤦🏾♂️
omg please teach me how
aw i love this episode sm!! ashley is truly an inspiration 😊 can't wait to hear about annemarie story next
I love ashleys humor and the way she tells her story
this is the longest yt vid ive watched all the way thru and it was so worth it aww ily ashley
Love it so so so so so much! Had an amazing morning listening to you all :) have a beautiful day everyone!
I literally did not expect this to be a motivational podcast but holy cow im hype now
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR ASHLEY's origin story 🥺🥺🥺
i love the vibe of this podcast so much its not overwhelming and its very easy to watch!! hope you guys keep this going for a while 🤍
I've never felt more connected to Ashley I completely understand I can also imagine my notes and dream very vividly and remember so much even the little things
I do the same as Ashley with rewriting notes and then being able to recall them during tests! I knew i wasn’t alone in that, so nice to hear she does the same~
I’m big hyped for anne marie’s episode!!! love you all 🧡
you’re a great role model Ashley, this podcast was so good to get into and see you in a new perspective x
I love Ashley! I love how relatable she is like when she was talking about rewriting all her notes, I am definitely not someone that is high achieving but for tests I would write all my notes and my favourite was always biology.
This was my favorite episode so far! Loved hearing how Ashley grew up and how that led to who she is today ♥️
Personally, i been keep up with these interviews/podcast. They are great and interesting insights into the lives of these beautiful people, more importantly it truly highlights the difference between someone who had a great childhood (support from both parent, being available to nurture & validate the children when they are taking on the world/adversity) i.e ashley, and the way she feels safe to explore in this world as an adult. (Trying new things, healthy esteem[knowing she will succeed]… etc
Nevertheless, great vid!
I can really relate to ashley on the notes thing. I used to do the same just like cram right before the test and re-write my notes and try to memorize the page. After awhile I realized I am a very visual person and noticed that the actual layout and colours (highlighting, use of symbols, underlining) was what allowed me to remember it. If I knew the layout of each section/page I could recall it in my mind kind of like a frame in a movie.
ive been watching ashley for awhile, i thought i knew her but dang this video gave so much insight as to why she is who she is today ahhh
Literally love Ashley...she has such an admirable personality 🥰✨🥺
21:17 omg my mom told me the same thing when I had a nightmare as a child, "It's your dream, you have the power to change it". Now I only have lucid dreams too!
Love the podcast guy's!!! I love to see more content with all of u guys ❤
I agree with Ashley ! I also like taking tests part of it feels good when I get a good score. Also I love taking notes no matter how long it takes :) takes a long time but it’s full filling when I look back !
pls put this on spotify 🙏🏼
Ashley I 100% relate on the financial situation growing up. Now that I’m older and fresh out of college, i want to take care of my parents (as best as i can right now anyway)but not out of guilt, but out of my genuine appreciation for their sacrifices tbh!
I found Ashley’s channel 4 years ago from her Vans collection video and she has grown so much I’m very proud of the person she has become
Ashley is honestly so talented, determined, and caring!!
I can relate to Ashley with the studying part. I rewrite every notes I have and by the time I'd be taking the test, I can visualize the notes I wrote.
I swear to god, for the past 22 years, I finally found someone who could have the same thing as me. Ashley, u're finally talk about what I want to say growing up. It's amazing to feel this way and it's not weird at all. I used to tell people about that, but they said it's impossible. At least u and me is relatable. Wow, it's interesting to hear a story that u have in mind for years, so inspirational. Go u Ashley.
I really relate to Ashley becoming more aware of her race and being shy, as I am half asian/white myself. It's nice to see people talking about things they faced and being able to relate to them!
Love this! I just came from class and ready to listen ❤
love the podcastttt love all of youuu :)
YES OMG i'm so glad ashley has the same studying method as me, i will literally have a red, sore, and painful right hand the day of the test because days before i would write notes non stop and make sure to leave distinct features on the parts of the lecture for me to remember more and familiarize thoughts to answer questions correctly :))
At 50:14 when ashley talks about remembering, i thought everyone kind of could remember things by visualizing it in there head. Like i can see textbook pages in my head just like she describes.
Btw the podcast is so good!
You guys are literally so good people❤
Really loved this episode. Hearing Ashley chat about her dreams was awesome since I used to journal about my dreams as well. I found that with journaling, it assisted in my dream recall and even the ability to lucid dream. That's probably why you have them so frequently, Ashley! Can't wait for Annemarie's episode!
I have the same thing when dreaming, being conscious, being able to change things or continue a dream after waking up. I remember once in a dream, going to a room that was supposed to be mine and telling myself in the dream "well no this isn't your room, your room is the one you are asleep in right now".
But sometimes when I don't lucid dream, I physically live out my dream, I would wake up laughing, singing, smiling, sobbing, yelling (I wasn't able to yell in my dream, even though i was trying to, but i woke myself up because I yelling irl), etc.. because that's what was happening in my dream.
And because the dreams are so vivid, it sometimes truly feels like you experienced them. Like things of my bucket list that I feel like I can check off because I had those experiences in my dreams.
Sometimes I have flashbacks or déjà vu of dreams irl.
But it can also be draining because you feel like you haven't actually rested but continued living.
I actually relate so much to the imagining the notes in your brain during the test that Ashley talked about! Since I wrote it with my own hands I kind of remember how my notes look like and what it says in my brain if I imagine it. Surprised that the roomies were so surprised about it!
Yes I was surprised too. I thought everyone that studies did this.
Same here! To me this is the most logical way
Would love to hear more of the business side of you guys and your incomes through youtube and other forms of income and how you're able to live in NYC
Mapping your lives out while screening one another very nice. Very interesting comments that are mostly sensible. Great couples 💑
When Ashley was talking about academics and how she does tests I related so hard - writing things over and and over on a page helps me see answers or other things in mind from the view of the page. I’ve never heard anyone describe it like that and I felt very seen. I absolutely love learning too - there’s nothing more satisfying than comprehending/understanding something.
I am literally the same and never met anyone who does that too I was relating so hard LOL
keep up the great work :) love it!
Usally I have a hard time sitting through entire podcasts but their podcast I literally could watch all day I just enjoy the long extended content with all the roommates
I have the same way of studying as Ashley and I'm a very visual person. I can definitely remember many things and even how the book's pages looked, so I guess it's just how visual people work!!
I feel like I have the same thing Ashley has! The dreaming, the way to study and how I remember birthdays. Crazy
can all the roommates please take the mbti personality test?? im so interested in what types u guys are:)
I feel Ashley on a deep level. Her mindset reminds me of something I always had to deal with. When having big dreams I always had that core belief that I will succeed and it was more about me trying to convince other to have believe me as much as I believed myself.
Edit: also, for anyone with a blocked throat chakra= try singing very loudly! Get your favourite song and go up with the volume and then sing along as loudly! It really helps so much
I would also love to see the roomates go all on a hike together and then scream from the top pf a mountain. That‘d be so wholesome 💜
I love these guys they make my day!
I have it the same as Ashley when it comes to studying and most of my time in school/university I didn’t need to study for a long time to have decent grades. It’s a blessing, but unfortunately it doesn’t last long if do don’t do revisions regularly
Arrival is sooo good. I literally hit the ceiling when Elliot said how good it was!
Annemarie’s laugh is so contagious lol I love it
Ashley u have such a sweet & bright energy!
I didn't think it was normal to be excited to go to sleep and dream but I feel very validated now 😂 the way you and I dream is pretty spot on I too can always just feel like I could easily wake up or be too into the dream to want to so I keep sleeping it's very weird but fun!
i literally love all your guys content. you should release ur mom merch
BRO I READ OFF THE PAGE TOO!! OMG ASHLEY IS LEGIT THE FIRST PERSON WHO I’VE “MET” WHO DOES THIS TOO! Finally someone😂✋🏼
I also have the “short term photographic memory” that Ashley was talking about. It really helped me for my bio exams too 😆
MAJOR RESPECT TO OUR MOMMM
I also am always aware of my dreams! It started pretty early for me too. Lucid dreaming is kind of my default dream mode lol. And I can go back to the same dream when I wake up in the middle. I can‘t imagine not knowing you‘re dreaming during a dream. I can relate to almost everything ashley said about dreams
Edit: Also the memory thing. We seem to have a somewhat similar thinking process 😂
the dreaming, the short term photographic memory n note rewriting thing ME TOO
I thoroughly enjoyed that.
I also have the same habit as Ashley.
I write everything in my notes before exam and can see the answer the exact way of my notes during my tests.
Haha I’m the same person as Ashley. Like when she talked about the dreams I’m the exact same. And then how she said she studies is exactly how I study. Which is mind blowing to me
ashley please watch / read the expanse !!! it’s my favourite sci-fi series !!
we love ashleyyyy
Okay wow, I'm happy to know that I'm not alone in visualizing my notes during tests. If I'm taking a test, I'm literally just like "Okay, the answer to this question is written on page 3, top left corner of my notebook" and then I'll be able to recite/put it on paper word for word.
