I sang this song the night I proposed to my darling wife on the night we got engaged, we have been together now for over 50 years and she is still young and beautiful to me ,thanks Elvis.

steve akers listen to trying to get to you and other songs in the early days ... AMAZING. The rasp in his voice . To be honest Elvis could sing the phone directory and make it sound good . 🎸❤️
The ballads are stunning but they never play them on the radio etc.Always the same ones..Teddy Bear, All Shook Up. Shame because some people never get to hear how beautiful they really are.
Yeah I have been a elvis fan for 45yrs now. My Canadian grandma who moved from nova Scotia Canada to live with my grandad in England gave me his moody blue record when I was 13yrs old . And other records his country one with the picture of him on the front when he was a toddler and the record called separate ways were he is stood on the motorway wearing his jumpsuit with a guitar on the front cover of the record. I always thank my Canadian grandma for bringing this beautiful man into my life inside and out with the voice of a angel, by the time I started work at the age of 16yrs I was buying a elvis record every wk out of my wages, all his early stuff. That was the first time I saw his beautiful face when he was very young. I was mesmerised but to this day I have never fancied or find elvis presley sexy. People I have spoken to who are elvis fans laugh at me and think that I am joking. But I am still a loyal, true devoted fan and iam still going strong at the age of 57yrs. Went to see the elvis biopic on the pictures it was fantastic.

My dad used to sing this song to me as I went to sleep, and when Elvis died I was crushed. Listening to this song brought back childhood memories and it made me sad because I know I can't get those back.
Elvis is the greatest, period, the sheer range of his voice and songs he did in his career can't be paralleled, I have listened to so many of his songs 100s of times and I still get the goose bumps. Elvis was the complete package and set the standard of what a superstar should be; , the voice, sex appeal, the quiff, sunglasses, clothes he wore, the bling, first singer to have an full entourage, car collection, he set the trail for the others to follow...I am sad that no-one really looked out for him or had his best interests at heart.
I'm 84 years old and could have written those exact words but then I would have been guilty of plagiarism. I've had many years to experience hundreds if not thousands of entertainers and have not found one who has impacted me so deeply.
I grew up loving Elvis, my parents loved him, also! Born in 1953, I grew up listening to all of the music through the ages! Now it's 2019! Still love Elvis!
The absolute best scene was right at the end of the video when judy apporaches him and they both embrace each other while he closes out the song. It's like a rockwell painting and hallmark card all rolled into one.
Whaf a unique talent Elvis was! He can sing the rebellious rock and roll songs like Jailhouse Rock and Hound Dog, yet sing these tender songs so beautifully.
This has always been my favorite Elvis song. And yes I know he is singing about his girl in this movie. But Elvis never grew old, he never got wrinkled. I can't even imagine Elvis at nearly 90 years old. When I think of Elvis I always think of him as forever young and beautiful. Unfortunately, this song ended up applying to both of them as we all know.

Elvis never watched the finished product, Jailhouse Rock because the beautiful lady you see in this clip, Judy Tyler was killed in a car crash days after they finished production of the movie and Elvis couldn't bring himself to watch it.
This is one of my all-time favorite songs recorded by Elvis; not only for the beautiful simplicity, the flowing melody and the meaningful lyrics, but more so for the story behind the song. He LOVED working with Judy Tyler on "Jailhouse Rock", the female lead, in this movie; them being very close friends. Shortly after the finish of the movie, Judy and her husband, Greg LaFayette took a road back to their apartment in Manhattan and while driving through Wyoming both were killed in a car accident, her NEVER seeing the movie. Elvis was so saddened and distraught he NEVER view the movie in his entire life; him unable seeing them together and knowing what happened to her.
62 years ago I saw Jailhouse Rock for the first time it was the B Movie and I didn't go to see this film, but Im so glad that I did, this ending of Young and Beautiful made me a fan for life.
