- My mother in law had the idea to build a swing set for my brother in law. He's got a couple sweet little kids that love to swing, so I jumped at the chance to help build it.
We ended up with a really neat result. A swingset with no metal fasteners that's as sturdy as can be.
There is no shopping list in the description.
Man this is exactly what I want to have. Not alot of info for building swings..
This is probably the best video explain.
I have no experience with this so I don't think I can make this..
Do you guys do kits ?
You can totally do this yourself. I’m just a guy with a day job. I don’t do this for a living. But all the lumber is stuff you could get at Home Depot. My only advice is to go a little wider than I went so you have move room for swings.
So awesome!!! Love seeing how the plans turned out in real life. Great video!
Nice and very expensive post.
awesome build! For the (camera) focusing problem. Focus the camera, and then set the lens to manual focus, so it doesnt keep trying to adjust to your movement!
Great job I want to do something like that
Could you share dimention
Yeah not much help on the ol interstream. I ended up with a bunch of scribbles and high plans the same as you. So I done the right thing and threw money at it...I bought premade swing angles from jungle easy 123 lol.
I can’t find the shopping list or plans bc I don’t see the description. Can someone guide me please. Also, how is this holding up a year out? We’re wanting to make one for

I’ve had to tighten the bolts on the hardware a time or two, but it’s looking really great still!!!
Woodglut is nice for that.
That looks like a 300 ring?
I don't know what that means
@@cerupsly ok then it's not. The ring you are wearing looks just like an award in bowling for a perfect game. I went out on a limb
Lawn Care Little Guy plain English helps people to understand. Comprehend?
Just a swingin"
Great mortise work!
Isn't your main beam only being held on by a small 1" chunk of mortise (in the direction of the swinging)? As your kids get older, heavier, and swing higher it could put some lateral load on that 1" joint.
Might want to toss a steel bracket up there just so a 100lb beam doesn't come down on their head. Probably best to use a 90 degree angle bracket on the inside where the main beam meets the vertical support, since that will place the shear force where the steel is the strongest.
Very nice ! Very nice indeed !!!
Many thanks!!
Great plans! How much would you say you spent in total?
Too much. Maybe $1000
Holy smokes! Lol thanks for the speedy reply tho!
@@deborahhenthorne8311 I think that is a joke, there is no way that cost $1,000
@@knpstrr I sure hope it is! Lol I was having a hard time figuring up a grand for a basically A-frame swing set
@@cerupsly so expensive! I've spent around 200$
where did you find the nylon cover for the chain
I got it off a climbing website. It's 2" tubular nylon webbing that climbers use.
I'm prettty sure that this is the stuff I bought: www.strapworks.com/Nylon_Webbing_p/tnw2.htm
Nice job! It is surely a pretty hard work. I love that you decided to use mortise and tenons joints. That involves more skills than a regullar joint. More measurements, lots of chiseling. I've made a swing set too (Last week). I chose a easier way. Please check it out.
