Hello ! About adding rythm, some pianist gave me this advice to unlock my solos prisoners of the bar : play guide tones as dotted quarter note all over the standard, which makes doing syncopated changes here and there over the bar line, shaking the imagination ; I'm studying that this days, it works pretty well ;) Thank you for your work !
thank you so much! An amazing comment that says everything - helps me to keep me on a good track on what the players out there want - really helpful! Thank you!
This was so immensely helpful and so very clearly presented. Thank you so much. I will join your Patreon because I want the full book. This really explains everything to know!!!

Can I ask a question? When you change chords do you have to stick to the 3rds and 7ths in voice leading or can you choose the root or 5th of the next chord?
yes of course and you asked a great question. there is voice leading and guide tone lines. The voice leading is mostly leading tones into the next chord - 3->7th etc. Guide tone lines and target notes are the notes you want to hit. Start on any note in the chord (later also extensions are cool to start on and go to) But start on chord notes and lead to the closest by in the next bar - not matter what it is. Work with what you want to hear and experiment. But go to kind of the closest by. When you get to the double guide tone lines you will get into bigger jumps. it will all come! Please ask again if anything :) Let me know if this helps you!
@@sorenballegaardmusic thank you very much for your response. Your lesson was really helpful and this advice too, I can see where I have been going wrong! Thank you again 👍😀💯

Yeah, sweet deal. That's a thing, open up your rhythmic possibilities, would totally work on solos too. Thank you so much for your insights.
Every time I listen to you, it looks like you are sorting out my thoughts about what and how to practice: amazing didactical skills. Thanks for that!
