Hey man excellent video. I have the same kit I bought a wile back. Just a quick question,, how many turns out did u do the fuel mixture screw and what size main get did u end up using?, and did u leave the needle clip on the carb needle still original(on the second clip from the top. Thanks heaps
Mix screw was left as it came. I adjusted a little at the show to lean it, but it didn't make much difference and I don't know where it is. Prob not more than 1 more turn and I turned the idle speed up a little. I think mostly because it loads up 1/8 throttle and below and most of the riding there is idle and very low throttle so it loads up and then idle drops. Everything else was the same, but I haven't tuned it yet. Will get to that soon.
Yeh hey i left the carby setting as it came but it bogs alot in the begging like chokes alot when taking off, is that normal?. What can I do to make it a smooth take off if you have tuned yours yet or have an idea. thanks man
@@TheLionInTheArea I still haven't got around to tuning it and right now the weather is all hot and humid so it really wants to load up at low throttle. I can take off, but if it idles for long it will load up so I rev it to clear it out before trying to go hard. I'd think the shim under the needle clip being removed may help some, but I don't know if that makes it too lean for part throttle cruise. Could possibly use a smaller pilot, but when I looked quickly the only smaller one I saw was 1 number smaller so barely a change.
@@49ccscoot hey man did u end getting the 28mm dellorto carb tuned right on the rc-one. I'm not good with carb tunes nor is there a 2 stroke machanic in my city Sydney.😢 if u have tuned it how many turns out did u end up doing the air fuel crew and what main jet and pilot jet numbers did u use. I'm just in the process of putting the rc-one engine on a older jog cy50. iv had the engine of the road for a couple of years now and really can't wait do get it going again but tuned this time😉
@@TheLionInTheArea It's a great carb IMO. For me, it works basically out of the box. On my second now because the last one was corroded after ultrasonic cleaning with PineSol. First one had some issues with filling the bowl at times. This one has been good so far. Both will run well with the needle and jetting they come with from Malossi. Mix screw varies. I have upped that I bit because they like to be turned out quite a bit, but I have to set it different if I go to the beach 70 miles away at pretty much the same elevation so I don't think anyone else's settings are relevant. Pretty much just gotta make sure it's not loading up or lean hanging around idle. I appreciate the Dell much more after messing around with a PWK for a year and ruining piston after piston. 3 cylinder kits in, I went back to the Dell and life is fine again.
hello, if you look in the assembly manual of the yamaha aerox hub, before inserting the hub a shim must be put I do not remember the diameter, it is specific to be put only with the aerox hub, I had the vhst it is a great carburetor, if I can give you a piece of advice you should put specific aq pulverizer for 2 strokes, there are less problems with carburetion and it keeps the carburetion stable even with the temperature change compared to 4 strokes pulverizers such as he or hh. Good job from italy!
I may have just looked at the parts diagram and didn't see a shim. Not sure that I checked the actual assembly procedure in a manual. I figured if it needed a shim they'd show it in parts, but that would make it too easy. Thanks for the tip. Do you have a specific part number or letters for the 2T atomizer/pulverizer that you prefer?
@@49ccscooti used with this configuration: gas valve 45, atomizer aq 265, needle d44 at the second notch, float 6,5g your carburetor instead mounts the new separate floats so I don't know how to make a comparison with the old model floats, needle valve 300, I think which you can try with 4g floats of your type, this is also the configuaration that is advised by 2fast trt for vhst
@@49ccscoot you can safely use the 50 gas valve, a 55 would thin out too small openings, to go the atomizer aq however you have to buy its specific nozzle because the thread of the aq is also different from hh, and then there would also be another modification, looking at the carburetor on the air intake side you notice two holes with golden pads inside, to convert the carburetor for 2-stroke pulverizer (aq) you have to completely remove the pad from the right hole instead on the left pad you have to widen it with a 1mm tip, so in my opinion try see how it goes with the malossi configuration and then see whether to make this change or keep it with malossi configuration. good luck
Really neat stuff! But out of curiosity, isn't the point of a scooter is to be >49cc to evade the licensing and registration requirements? Now it needs the same requirements as a real motorcycle. I mean with the money I'm sure you've put into this beauty, you surely could have bought a nice used street bike that puts this to absolute shame. Performance wise.
I actually tried to register this scooter as a motorcycle a couple of times years ago. The reply that I got was basically once a 50 always a 50 in their eyes. There are many reasons for this and other stuff that I do to small bikes. I really enjoy it. My friends know me and know that if I had a bike that was scary fast, I'd still want to work on it. I had a turbo Mustang and poured money into it for years and I have more fun with the scoots. If you take a sportbike and work on it so it's faster... it's a fast sportbike. Not that it isn't cool, but we all expect them to be fast. This thing is so much different than what it started. To go from 42MPH tucked down and struggling to keep up with traffic in stock form to something that I'm afraid to twist the throttle too quick on from a stop because it absolutely will toss me off is just cool IMO. I really enjoy experimenting and learning and I think scoots are a great platform for that, especially if you aren't rich. Plus, two-strokes are badass. Enjoy them before they decide to crush them all or something.
thank you@@49ccscoot do you have any ongoing 4stroke low CC projects i could check out? i recently got myslef gpx gentleman 200 and given its weight its got not enought power, especially considering the fact that oficcial website says that it has like 20hp when in reality its more like 11.6, so any help would be appreciated.
@@pironiero I would suggest trying to find out if the engine platform is common. Maybe there are big bore kits and other performance parts that bolt on. Ignition timing, carb tuning, exhaust and air filter aren't going to get you there. 12HP is not a lot for 200cc so maybe there's some porting and compression change to help, but it's still way easier if there's a big bore kit.
As long as the extension is straight and rigid enough, it shouldn't matter. If you believe that extension length matters in that case, then you would also need to change torque based on socket length/height so every time you tightened a fastener you'd have to adjust torque settings or torque wrenches would come with their own socket sets. If it's something like a crowfoot wrench, then it does matter if the socket is not at a 90 degree angle to the torque wrench or if you have a swivel or something that alters the angle it will matter.
@@49ccscoot if you had a 1/4" ratchet going into a 1/2"socket adapter going into a 3/4" socket adapter going into a 1"" socket adapter with a 1" extension stretching from California to Maine the Nm of torque would be decreased
If you ever service the carb... take it totally apart for cleaning... it gets you back to where you were quickly. It's not a must... but a convenience. Work smarter, not harder kinda thing.

@@49ccscoot
hey man did u end getting the 28mm dellorto carb tuned right on the rc-one. I'm not good with carb tunes nor is there a 2 stroke machanic in my city Sydney.😢
if u have tuned it how many turns out did u end up doing the air fuel crew and what main jet and pilot jet numbers did u use.
3 cylinder kits in, I went back to the Dell and life is fine again.
hey dude
what kind of radiators do you use i want these too? could you send a link
thank you

hello, if you look in the assembly manual of the yamaha aerox hub, before inserting the hub a shim must be put I do not remember the diameter, it is specific to be put only with the aerox hub, I had the vhst it is a great carburetor, if I can give you a piece of advice you should put specific aq pulverizer for 2 strokes, there are less problems with carburetion and it keeps the carburetion stable even with the temperature change compared to 4 strokes pulverizers such as he or hh.
@@pierluigimatteazzi2568 Thanks again!
@@49ccscoot you can safely use the 50 gas valve, a 55 would thin out too small openings, to go the atomizer aq however you have to buy its specific nozzle because the thread of the aq is also different from hh, and then there would also be another modification, looking at the carburetor on the air intake side you notice two holes with golden pads inside, to convert the carburetor for 2-stroke pulverizer (aq) you have to completely remove the pad from the right hole instead on the left pad you have to widen it with a 1mm tip, so in my opinion try see how it goes with the malossi configuration and then see whether to make this change or keep it with malossi configuration. good luck
@@49ccscoot it was 6,5 g float not 9,5g

Enjoy them before they decide to crush them all or something.
what fuel to oil ratio are you using?
32:1
thank you@@49ccscoot do you have any ongoing 4stroke low CC projects i could check out? i recently got myslef gpx gentleman 200 and given its weight its got not enought power, especially considering the fact that oficcial website says that it has like 20hp when in reality its more like 11.6, so any help would be appreciated.
Are thoes 3.50 x10 size wheels ?
They're 13" wheels from a Yamaha Aerox.
Be aware the longer the extension you have it actually decreases the Nm of torque applied.

Why do you need to know the turns of the idle screw ? Lol

you ride that thing like a 4 stroke. don't be such a poonanny. hard to watch you ride it improperly like that. on or off with the throttle, that's it.

thats what you get for torque spec'ing the exhaust bracket bolds mate xD why the fuck even torque them that not even needed hand tight is more than enough xD always the americans they do things so weird on mopeds goddamm and people dangling there waterpumps is just lazyness i would put it some were were its covered up and exstentr the lines a bit i realy dont understand why people do it like that fucking weird
I use torque specs to avoid stuff like that. IMO Malossi could use bolts that will withstand factory torque, since that's what they tell you to use. The exhaust is expensive. They can't splurge for torx or higher grade?
