Quick question: were you guys checking for a 45mm gap between the stone chippings and your string line before you whacked the stone chippings down and screeded it? Just asking as we are moving onto our first block paved patio in a few weeks so your videos are really coming in handy for us. Thanks again! 🙂

    • @brickrightbuildinglandscaping
      @brickrightbuildinglandscaping  10 месяцев назад

      Sam to make this easy mate .
      Set your lines to a start and finish level.
      If the drive is emptying the water to an ack drain id set your line 10mm higher .so basically 10mm higher all over the drive than finished height you require.
      So you then measure the thickness of paving ie 50mm from line to screed layer.
      When you compact the paving it will then go down by about 10mm Sam.
      Hope this helps you mate 👍

In fact for mate there a mixed fine granite dust 2 parts to 4 clean gravel through mixer for 25-30mm under grass. Water flys through. Sharp sand just doesn’t move it enough. @ramichehab4797
      No if you put the membrane in after the mot type ie beneath the the screed layer it does nothing to control weeds .The membrane isn't layed as shown in the video to control weeds .It's layed to reduce the transfer of the mot type 1 into the ground which was clay .This stops the drive sinking.
      That's why the membrane is used as we used it .
      For weed control you'd be better to treat the drive with a weed control solution and spray it on top of the finished drive as that's where weeds tend to form .That's my understanding and opinion on your question 👍🙌

    Why do you think machine buckets have a hardened blade, a good operator uses the blade to grade not the bottom of the bucket, big no no!!!!!👎👎👎👎
    Where's your rubber mat??? Bit of a bodge job!!!!!!!

    Very nice job, excellently narrated. Where does the run off water drain into at the end ( street end ) / lead to? Wouldn’t it have been logical to have replaced the water pipe when you have it open? It’s been disturbed now and you will have a leak in no time.

      Run off to the flower bed .
      We asked the customer about the water pipe they didn't want to change it neither did welsh water .
      We did get welsh water to test the pipe for leaks before we covered it up and we insulated it so nothing more we could do unfortunately 👍

    You would be better taking out recess cover then sanding it separately as you have just vibrated sand into sides of recess cover good luck to homeowner getting that out also you should whacker plate paving first (you won't mark any type of block paving with plate and don't need sand or rubber mat to protect paving)before sanding to bed paving units in and to allow you to inspect and remove any damaged paving then you brush over kiln dried sand and whacker plate it again to vibrate kiln dried sand between joints, nice paving that good job lads I won't mention the screeding rails
