Thank s a million, learning sewing in my early 40s, not finding it easy with a lot responsibilities, but iam finding this very encouraging, iam more determined to push up thru, thanks again.
@@Bejachachancelie So sorry to hear this. Maybe you should save up and invest in an online shop. If your sewing is very good, people outside Cameroon and your immediate city will patronize you. I wish you all the best.
My challenge was charging the client but I changed last month, still growing to charge more cos I know my worth. Also my challenge is packaging but i pray I be able to do that before the year ends
I find that I have to educate my clienta sometimes to understand why they should pay a certain amount. Someone who does a 9-5 job and earns 300,000 naira a month for example isn't necessarily doing half of the work you do in the same month but by the time you check how much you are able to make in a month making a maximum of 5 outfits for instance because some outfits take 5days - 1 week to complete, you probably also had to go to the market, your work hours are not defined but you only make 150,000. I shouldn't have to embellish an outfit before I get value for making it it.
You’re right. You don’t have to embellish an outfit to get value for making it. But at the same time, if you’re in a country that does not value the sewing skill, you best bet is to increase your prices and enhance the quality of your work, so your clients would be willing to pay. Also, you need to say no when your price and their bargain are worlds apart.
Thankyou so much, I always struggled with pricing especially when someone send me pictures of styles I have never done before, I thought taking time to give
Thank you ma for this tutorial, I'm a fashion designer, sometimes I always have issue with some of the tailors that sew for me because of their poor finishing,
You’re welcome. You need to let them know that you’re not comfortable with their poor finishing. Tell them what to do to make their finishing better and you can offer a little tip for tailors with excellent finishing.
I really enjoyed the tutorial, I want to change my ways of charging client, sometimes I always feel bad, the environment I met myself is not encouraging at all.
You’re welcome! It depends on the fabric you’re working with. For example, there is original 100% cotton Ankara that’s more expensive than the cheaper Ankara that is not made of cotton.
Please can you make a video on how much RUclips pays for a low view compared to high views? I'm so curious about what to expect. I'll be glad to see from a fashion channel because I have a thriving fashion channel
Thanks ma'am for this ☺️ma please I'm a student and I want to start small sewing business like ready to wear, can you please make a video of simple wears that can sell🙏 thanks a lot and God bless ❤
You’re welcome! Choosing a style for a client depends on the occasion, body type & personal style. Based on these you can get some style options and send to her to choose from. You can also sketch a new design or combine elements from different styles to create a new design.
I’m in Trinidad and Tobago it’s not valued as it should be but we do charge more that you guys of course sewing supplies are more expensive even unavailable at times
