You two are my absolute favorite! These cottages are so special. Thank you for showing us the small items and looks in cupboards. I love you look at these details. You see the beauty of the colors of walls and doors and revere the life past. I love Ireland! So beautiful!
The colored glass in the stone walls made me feel this was going to be a special place. And it was. Even though it was small it was so cozy and warm. I enjoyed it. Thanks for the tour.
Hi SamandJesse it is good to see you and go on this explore I love Ireland and have Irish blood my self love this explore thanks for taking me along with you.
I'm just now catching up on some videos I've missed. That beeping from the Mac and Olive house is the smoke detector. When the battery is ready to die, it'll beep like that and drive you crazy! Lol. Keep up the amazing work. Stay safe ❤
I had that set of soup bowls you collected them went you bought so much fuel from Shell petrol stations they also did a set of breakfast cereal bowls as well I also got all that set plus spares of both sets. Good old Shell petrol stations brilliant. I must admit I was getting a bit sick of the big houses abroad I much prefer houses that I can relate to and bring back some nostalgic memories of times past, thank you for letting us live our lives through you as this is something I’d love to have done but my wheelchair is not the correct mode of moving to get to some or most places never mind getting in and around the houses so again thank you.😊😮😊
Hey 👋 Sam and Jess! LOVE watching those IRISH videos. Would love to know where you'll be Next, and meet Yous, as where you were here you were only a couple of Miles from me. It's a shame to see all those lovely pictures and furniture going to Rot! THANK You both for what yous do. Can't wait for the next one! 💗❣️
That would’ve been a really cool little cottage years ago. Makes me feel sad that the poor gentleman that was there last had to put up with so much i.e. leaky roof, etc. That was a great explore guys minus the sheep poo💩 it’s hard to grasp how bad the smells are that you guys have to put up with to show us what it’s like to live there. I can only imagine. Really enjoying this Irish tour. Thank you so much! Safe travels. Sending love as always.💜🤟🏻🤗🥸🇺🇸
These types of explores are the best for story telling. We can see how they really lived and get an idea of the people that lives in the homes. It always is a sobering reminder, that all those material things we humans crave, really don’t matter. They just get left behind anyway, forgotten. Especially if there isn’t family to take on the legacy of things. Live life to the full guys. Forget societal expectations, it’s rubbish. Non of the materialistic stuff matters, enjoy yourselves instead!
My grandmother she was Scottish had that same Scottish tape but on record. It brought back memories as soon as you showed it. The caravan looked better than the house.
Well Baa baa to that then.. the sheep rule the day. haar haar. Ireland is beautiful. The caravan was sort of nicer than the cottage ..lol at least it had a bathroom. Brill stuff and best wishes to you both xxx
Great to see you in Ireland there are loads of abandoned mansions you should try find one and explore come to Meath next time you would love tara newgrange loads of places in co louth great video thank you 💕✨
Here's a thought for the explorer. Christmas stuff never is sold at estate sales or kept by the heirs. Perhaps these places are staged with the holiday. Which personally is commercial to me. Fun tour.thanks 🐟
Sam and Jess you both are my all time favourite explorers, you find the most amazing and interesting abandon places. Keep up the great work i could watch your videos everyday if you could load everyday 😃🫶🏼❤️
@@Zoubirking-1970...... Well aren't the two still in one same country just north part and south part. I'm not from Ireland so I never knew they were considered separate
I'd like a cottage like that but a bit bigger. Hubby and I would like to move to county Armagh Ireland, hubby's ancestors are from there, mine are from Dublin. Great video ,I wouldn't mind sheep for neighbors but they better stay out of my home 🤣Thank you Sam and Jess 💖💖
So sad the sheep got in and pooped all over floors! Loved the wood burning stove, the whole place was a real glimpse into the past. Really liked how they decorated the exterior with coloured glass amongst the pebbles. Didn't see a kitchen anywhere, except in that really cool caravan. Be interesting to knw the history of the property. 🦘🤢😖🥰🤔
Hi this house has alot of 1970s appliances. The radios are called C.B. radio's (citizen ban) they were really popular in the 70s and had a huge following. Everyone had a 'handle ' a name unique to yourself, self appointed. I think the family were protestant in faith. Ulster Scots, this would explain the music and picture of the Queen. The bowler hat would have been worn during the July marching season.
@@bionicnichola9251 yeah.....truthfully. a lot of the houses here in the country side may appear abandoned even with cattle using it ....but a lot are still in the familys 🤪
Interesting little house! Really get that 'slice of life' feeling, like the person living there hasn't left, or could walk back in at any moment. Wonder if the untouched nature of 'bandos in Ireland is a combo of community+population density+ religion kind of thing, certainly catholicism is full of guilt and tribulation and thou shalt not trespass etc. The untouched cigs and booze really shows how untouched it is, probably no one has been in there, so went into hospital and died...? Jess not realising why properties seem to get abandoned around Christmas was cute, sorry Jess the cold and sickness bumps off the oldies in winter! Great video! Stay safe out there! Looking forward to the next!😊🙏
Good explore! It’s amazing how generations stay with what they are familiar with for their daily needs. Technology is seen as something that isn’t necessary. And be glad you were not in the poop house in the sweltering summer!

Live in the country in Northern Indiana and we have internet that is beamed back and forth to the town via a dish/antenna. Should have borrowed that Jim Reves record 👍...is a little bit sad that they passed and no family to take over the farm.
Not to be ornery, but it's not southern Ireland. It's the Republic of Ireland. Not part of the UK like Northern Ireland. And it's pretty unusual in the Republic to have an abandon building with a roof. Due to tax laws, if a building doesn't have a roof the land it taxed as empty, whereas if there is a roof, it's taxed as residence. It does make me sad that these places are just left... looking at their lives I wonder what happened.

You're asking the real question.. I seriously doubt it. They'll see an un-occupied house and call it abandoned, when that's clearly not the case. (Not tryna make accusations because I don't know for sure, but I'll just say it doesn't look good)
@@obsoletepoc7050 Yes. This is seriously intrusive. Gaining attention online by trespassing on private property is disgusting.
