I Can’t Believe This Happened To Me In Nairobi Kenya | Entry Denied At Kenya Airport

My experience at the passport control at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi Kenya was not funny. I and my friends were initially denied entry into Kenya, even when we presented a valid visa.

If they have any reason to believe you pose a threat or you may not be going back to your country. I have my return ticket, I do not pose a threat neither was I found wanting at any point during the conversation I had with them.

If you are getting the EA visa under the current guidelines, you should have taken one issued with Kenya and started your trip with Kenya. You are not the first one to be denied entry. When you apply for EA visa for Uganda or Rwanda approval, you will be denied entry. But you can get ETA if you have an urgent business in Kenya.

I think it’s you who’s naive. The East African visa is still a valid means of admission into Uganda, Kenya and Rwanda, until otherwise stated.

Unfortunately those visa rules are only on paper. The EA visa does not work seamlessly. The ETA is a general requirement. You were not denied a visa into Kenya because of your Nigerian passport. That is false and clout chasing. Presenting a non existent situation as fact when it was not. We have plenty of Nigerians living and visiting Kenya.

So you can always politely request to see their superior.
