I listened to this song while trying to kill myself 8 years ago. I'm listening to it now in the quiet, peaceful little apartment I share with my lovely boyfriend of 6 years and reflecting on how glad I am that my attempt didn't work. I'm in a much better place now; I'm out of the toxic environment I was in back then and I'm never going back. I still have depression; that's an illness I'll always have to carry. But it's better. It's manageable. It isn't all-consuming anymore. And I've found the love and happiness I needed to carry me through it when it does get bad. And it was worth it to stay. I hope this helps anyone who might be going through what I was all those years ago. Love you all

Because the end of the song is meant to show that Gerard understands his Grandma's passing, and understands that she's gone (So Long) but she would want him to stay strong, so "Not Goodnight." :3 Just sayin'

Since I first made that connection I’ve healed a lot, and I’m far closer to being who I was before the trauma. I was a happy and friendly person, kind and helpful. The trauma turned me bitter and spiteful, at best.

MCR is never getting back together. Stop hoping MCRmy... Be happy with what you already got. They're a legend, and they can never be replaced - no other band can replace them. I know we all want them to get back together, but I doubt it'll happen. And if it does happen, I'll be happy and disappointed. It's a feeling that's hard to describe. I want/don't want them to get back together.

i am probably either the luckiest man alive or the weirdest man alive, because the period in which i was always listening to mcr is when i was growing up from the age of 8 to 16, i know that doesnt seem like a long time, but those 8 years were the best time of my life, the reason for this being that it was always my fav thing to do for me to come home from school and hop on my xbox, not 360, but the original xbox the first one, and i had about 23 mcr songs on it and i was just listening to it from some headphones while i was playing tony hawk for my nintendo or i was playing bicycle games on my gamecube, i was at peace and now that im like all responsible and shit looking back on those times makes me miss them
