    hey Osama I completely agree that Nuke eng is an insanely difficult program, as a second-year student i feel like the most efficient method is to take a reduced courseload of nuclear specific classes during the fall/winter semester, then taking math/electives in the summer to ease the stress

      That's a good strategy, a lot of people extend their undergrad program by one year and in turn take a reduced course load. Helps a lot of students make it more sustainable

    Hey Osama, I'm in highschool and I am really interested in nuclear engineering, but I'm also super interested in physics. I wanted to double major in both Nuclear engineering and physics, I know both of them are super hard majors. Do you think that would be hell lol

      Great question, firstly it depends one whether a university offers a minor in physics alongside nuclear engineering. I remember my university (ontariotech) offers only a few minors, which include minor in public policy, management and minor in health physics. Secondly, I would recommend investigating the benefits of doing a minor in physics, what are the net outcomes (will it increase your job scope or research opportunities). Also, what are those specific courses you will need to take to complete this minor, you can easily find this on the website and track down the course syllabus for each specific courses. You may need to take a few extra physics relevant courses, which are probably going to be a bit heavier (if you really enjoy physics and thats what you want to do, it will be a good choice for you, however if you are having trouble with your studies or maintaining a basic GPA if might not be a good option

      Thanks @@OsamaBaig for your input. I'm not sure what I want to pursue but I do need to look into the difficulty more.

    Firstly, thank you very much for your wonderful content. I appreciate your work. I have a question. I am a student. I will enter nuclear engineering within a few months, but I am in a country that is very behind in this science. So my dream is to obtain a bachelor’s degree and apply for a scholarship to Canada For a master’s degree, what is the difficulty of this thing and is it impossible? Sorry, I took a long time. Thank you🌹🌹

      Thanks for sharing your dream Ali, I'm sur you will achieve it with the right guidance. I suggest reaching out to alumni with the qualifications you are looking to get, set up calls with them and talk to them about their experiences. I also suggest reaching out to other international students that have already done this. Best of luck Ali!

    What other video's would you recommend to someone who wanted to transfer to nuclear.

      I would recommend watching the playlist on my channel for nuclear Engineering students as well as podcasts that feature nuclear engineering professionals (I will link them here in a bit)

    I'm thinking of taking up msc nuclear science and technology at university of sheffield they have 2 semesters with 4 modules each semester I would like to know if pursuing nuclear engineering is difficult or not btw I have a bachelors in chemical engineering

    people say "first year is a filter". is that true. is second year a filter too?

    • @OsamaBaig
      @OsamaBaig  6 месяцев назад

      First year engineering usually has a lot of students that drop outs, switch programs or other options. Second year and beyond don't have major drop out rates, however class sizes do get reduced significantly from first to second and third year. I think students do get better at studying after first year and thus second year is a much more successful year for students as compared to first year
