Is that 1 and 3/4 cup or only 3/4 cup
I wish when we watched your videos we magically got a plate of whatever you had just made through our computers. I'm dying for a bite of that cake.
Agreed. I probably won't make a lot of what I see, but I would definitely like to try everything!
couldn't agree more! looks so yummy
I made it yesterday, and it was amazing!! Everyone loved it, and said it was better than milk cakes from bake shops. I did not have cake flour so I substituted 2 tbsp of flour with corn flour. I also added a 1/8 tsp of baking soda to the dry mixture. I drenched the cake with the milk mixture and chilled it in the fridge, and just before serving it I drizzled a tiny bit of extra milk and topped it with cream and berries. SO GOOD! There was not a single piece left.
Here's another great recipe for Cinco de Mayo!!
Tres Leches Cake: Tres Leches Cake Recipe - Laura Vitale - Laura in the Kitchen Episode 383
Laura the reason why i like your style of cooking is because it's easy to make and you explain very good and you work is clean and it looks very delicious
Thank you for sharing your recipies , i love tres leches , and i love your recipies gracias
Ilove this video3>
Laura can you please tell us the amounts of the ingredients
+Lightning Devil you can find the ingredients in her linked website, found in the description
If anyone has the chance to try it, cover the top with whipped cream, and then coat with coconut shavings. It's super delicious!
why does there always have to be haters? if you arent content with what she says then mind your own business. she is Italian, not mexican, & if she gives false info, well its not her fault, she only says what she knows. & who cares where the cake is from, point is, its DELICIOUS!!!!
She's not Italian. She's American. Unless you born in Italy, raised in Italy and living in Italy you ain't Italian
D. Hull If you look at her website it actually says that she was born in Italy and lived there until she was 12, so she is Italian, js
Yeguaa94 Exactly! There are endless ways to make any given dish or prepare any given recipe. No one owns a recipe. And we are all free to change them as we wish. Vive la difference! I love Laura's positive attitude.
D. Hull She is Italian; you don't know anything about her. Ever heard of the internet? That's where you can look up correct information before you go shooting your mouth off with wrong information.......
Bonnie Burge It's 2015, yet some people still haven't grasped the concept of internet where enless universes of information exist.........
WOW! I did this cake yesterday to my family and friends and it was delicious! We all loved it! Thank you so much Laura!
This is the first recipe I tried from Laura. Loved it! Thanks Laura😊
I use heavy cream in place of the whole milk and I pour the milk mixture on while the cake is still warm. Mmm. Thanks for sharing!
Warm cake absorbs the milk better.
Vicc Salazar agree
I love this recipe and I've made it many, many times over for so many different occasions!!!
I made this as my birthday cake and it was absolutely delicious😍 thank you!
Laura in the Kitchen here in Albania we are doing the" tres leches" exactly like you, but when we have done with the milk,in the top we are putting always caramel glazze and not whipping cream and is so tasty :) is so popular here this sweet, ohh and i like your videos so much you are awesome
I'm totally gonna make this cake!!!
This is my favorite kind of cake. Thanks for the recipe!
Hi Laura, I just love all your recipes and you make it so simple and worthwhile. keep up the fantastic work. God bless. Much love from Dubai hun xx
I baked it yesterday, it tastes good but I found out that this dessert shouldn't have butter in the batch because it make it get harder when you put it in the fridge. Next time I'll try without the butter.
I usually make it without the butter! I think it is also fluffier that way.
I made it yesterday and I accidentally replaced sugar with salt :(
I made again earlier today and now it's cooling please pray for my cake.
😂😂😂😂🙏🏼 how was it?
tok
lol!!! hope your cake came out well
Dalal H how was it??!?!!!!!!
She never replied, her cake killed her lol
It looks so good. I love it
I just made this cake, it tastes really really good!
thank you Laura!!
u should totally try this cake with strawberries its so delicious
Laura will you please make pan dulce????!! Pleaseeee!!!!!!
Need to try this!! Thank you Laura! Keep up the good work!!
I made this last week and it was ah-mazingggg!! My mum loved it so much and she took it to work and they loved it too. Thanks for sharing your recipe Laura (:
This cake is easiest if you put it in a glass dish and leave it over night 👌🏽 even better the next day
Yeah, But carefully covered with a film paper or something. So we'll avoid this Milky cake bringing different flavors from then fridge. Furthermore, the Glass Dish should be the deepest one!
@ Angel Zapata : It is widely enjoyed in Latin America, especially in Mexico. The Origin is disputed.
I love your video (: Your transitions are so clean and thought out. It makes it very easy to watch and enjoyable for the viewer.
Thank you Laura I just love your cooking channel. You ROCK!
i fucked up my cake
Shaylaa IsAwesome 😂how?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I couldn't agree more! looks so yummy
The cake looks yummy! But I am confused from your website about the measurement of cake flour- Is it 1 and 3/4 cups flour? Also its for my 3 year old's birthday- So can I make it the day before the party?
I love that you used the words "drenched" and "cake" together! Winner recipe.
Looks absolutely perfect delicious! I can’t wait to try it!
I like mine with a little bit or caramel sauce and strawberries.
One of sweetest and most addicting cake ever that you'll get diabetes while your eating it. :P
jeffpro18 LOL, and get THICC
Thanks Laura! Loved this recipe. You rock!
I can't wait to make it! That cake is one of my favorite Mexican deserts!
mine came out really thin and tastes like egg :/ I'm really disappointed......
Mine too! I don’t get why. Hope Laura can explain and help correct.
use 1 can of coconut milk instead of whole milk, 1 can evap milk and 1 can cond milk, mix. serve with peaches in heavy syrup and no sugar whipped cream.
I've made this on Mother's day and everyone loved it!! Thanks!!!
Thank you for the amazing recipe!
So much negativity in here... Is it really worth it?
Laura your great. Keep up the good work.
You don't have to be a milk lover to like this cake
But you need to be lactose tolerant :D
It looks really good got to try to make it for my family for Thanksgiving hope it comes out good thanks for the recipes
I will love to try this recipe, I love Tres Leches!
I really do!
Thanks for make it easy to understand
Laura, in the video you use 2 sticks of butter (1 cup) but on the website it's 1/2 cup of butter (all the other ingredient radios are the same). What's the correct recipe version?
Ikr!? 😕😐
+xueqir I haven't done this one yet, but if I have to choose between the recipe or the video, I'll stick to the later one.
She only used 1 stick in the video ... so 1/2 cup !!
Hi friends, I made this cake following the exact recipe but my cake came out very dense. Any ideas on why?
Im four years late lmao but there could be many reasons for this
the egg whites didnt fluff up well aka either you didnt whisk them long enough OR some egg yolk fell in (even a drop of it can ruin egg whites) OR the bowl you whisked it in was slightly dirty.
That, or you didnt fold the egg whites in well
Or you left the batter standing for too long
Or the oven temperature was off
Or you messed up the measurement of flour
Or you packed in the flour into the measuring cups (if you used any)
or you forgot baking powder/soda
There are many more ways to mess up, but these are all i can remember off the top of my head
Have to try! Thanks again for, what I know will be, another fantastic recipe.
I love all your recipes cue yeah u explain all the details and its solo easy to make! Very simple.love your work.I'm going to try this cake for my sons b-day!!
I tried this recipe and followed the instructions exactly - however, my cake turned out really dense and flat - not spongey and able to absorb moisture at all - I had to throw it out :( I wish Laura explained key tips that are critical to making a fluffy, light, absorbent cake such as room temperature eggs and working quickly so things aren't left outside for a long time. I later researched why a cake doesn't become sponge-like, and wish those tips were emphasized in this video
I faced same issues today. Could you share the insights you learnt?
@@florentyena I'm so sorry I made it 3 years ago and completely forgot what I learned as I haven't made sponge cake again since
The egg whites do the heavy lifting, you can help them with some baking powder mixed with the flour (as Laura does).
A few drop of vinegar or lemond juice, or cream of tartar, will help your egg whites.
You can cut half of the butter and put some milk to lighten the batter before introducing the whipped egg whites, you'll lost less air.
If you do that, reintroduce some fat later by substituting some of the (evaporated) milk with heavy cream.
DO NOT USE parchment paper. I made the cake twice thinking maybe I made it wrong because the bottom of my cake kept coming out undercooked and the third time I didn't use parchment paper it came out all cooked and good. But other than that the recipe is good.
Girl props to you because if it came out bad the second time I made it I def wouldn't make it a third time 😂
My favorite cake ever!! I always get it for my birthday. Lo amoooo!
I tried this and this came out absolutely delicious! Thanks Laura Vitale!!
Can I use all purpose flour?
Yes.
Yes you can
4:45
Mine came out chewy. What went wrong? 😔
Probably overmixing the flour or the egg whites
I made mine with Betty crocker cake mix and then did the whipped cream frosting to decorate I let mine soak for 24 hours, my aunt is a baker and told me to do it that way, the cake is Soooo good
I love you so much. Your recipes never fail me!!!
Totally made this for christmas...... it was sooo yummy
I always eat this dessert because I am Dominican and we love this dessert
This desert is mexican
Dominicans eat this dessert too. Im Dominican and this is personally my favorite dessert. It may come from mexico but anyone can eat it
+coolrockkidFromMsp so because the cake is a mexican desert anyone who isnt mexican cant eat it? please clarify
I'm Mexican , in Texas and every birthday party that I've been to has tres leeches
leeches? lol
Nem33 Hahahaha
I made this the other day,and it was insanely delicious! My employers and my wards love it😉😊😍 Thanx for this recipe Laura
They look so good
I did this recipe twice..Just to see if I did anything wrong the first time and it still came out super dense. I don't understand I did exactly what she said. It still tasted good though.
Trisha N cakes with butter can come out dense if you cream the butter too long at a speed thats too high. they make like gummy streaks in your cake
You can add 1/3 cup of rum to the milk mixture and it is great
+Diego Mora I actually love it when Rompope or Advocaat is added to the milks mixtures.
Alchaholic
thank you so much!!
Omg i love this i had them a long time ago and i love it !

laura you cook so welll and i admire how you just enjoy the food thx for showing us you love food just as much as we do :)
NOT ONLY MEXICAN, in VENEZUELA is also traditional
i think taht it is latin
The cake is popular in Mexico, Central and South America, North America and many parts of the Caribbean, as well as in Europe. The origins of the tres leches are disputed; however, the idea for creating a cake soaked in a liquid is likely of Medieval European origin, as similar cakes, such as British Trifle and rum cake, and tiramisu from Italy, use this method.

Thank you so much for sharing this! It's been too many years since I had a tres leches cake and can't wait to make one for my friend's birthday ^-^
Not to be "that guy" but my wife doesn't like cake. Lol
Medic1152 divorce her and marry someone who does
If she has a favorite food, that food is now her 'cake'
My cake is crab legs 👌
If the origin of the cake is unknown then technically...it's everyone's cake! So she isn't wrong for calling it a Mexican cake. She also wouldn't be wrong for calling it a Domincan cake. I mean, it's a cake people. I understand we all like to feel special by dividing ourselves up into different races that we as people created but at the end of the day, we're HUMANS. Nothing more, nothing less. It's a delicious cake invented by some genius person that definitely doesn't exist anymore. The end

It is an amazing recipe I used it twice now!!
My 13 year old daughter made this for the family earlier tonight and it was incredible! She only made one change...she baked it in a glass 9X13 baking dish (no parchment, just greased with a bit of veggie oil), this way there was no transferring it to another platter and risk breakage, the milk mixture soaks in completely and it can be served and stored in the dish. Amazing flavor! Thanks, Laura!
Omfg really all poeple saying it Peru, Nicaragua Mexico blah blah!! Its from Spain that's thats where we all Spanish-speaking countries come from we are a mix of natives and Europeans
Ok so i just a quick research and the origin of the cake recipe isn't sure where it came from it got real popular in the 1930-40 nestle had the recipe in the label thats why its so popular but i really think its from Spain but who cares tres leches cake is the bomb! (I wouldn't add butter or any kind of oil)
Chill yo tits
Almendra De Santiago That's not true at all lol I'm not trying to be rude because I agree that they should Shut up, but that's not where we're not all a mix of natives and Europeans.
It is not from Spain... Tres leches cake became popular in Spain because of latinamerican immigrants specially people from Venezuela, Peru and Colombia..
I hate it that she speaks with her mouth full of food....looks so bad!!!
i love this knid of cake one of the best
i'm super impressed Laura. I love Tres leches but have never even wondered how one would go about making it. That looks awesome and I cant wait for a great opportunity to show it off to my husband and mother.

First time I made it today 😋😋😋 And it came out amazing 😉 Thanks 🙏
Really easy directions. Thank you for that. Just had a bite and it turned out incredible. I think the BIG difference is the cake flour and beating the egg whites and folding them in the batter....
Looks good! I'm gonna try it !
I'm making this tomorrow for my husband's birthday and I hope it comes out.
i think i'm gonna bake this for my cooking class :) thanks laura! :)
