Massive boss with massive armor that moves like a god damned torpedo and hits like one too.
Fromsoft has lost its mind, i cant put into words how much i hate this.
as hard as the bosses are and definitely a lot going on, still it’s amazing and an experience to remember

The fact that this boss is faster than torrent and will run you down before u can even set up is insane. I literally have 0 issue with any other boss in the dlc besides this one. This one takes the cake for dumbest design.

Idiotic design where its almost impossible to dodge him at the start.. the amount of times I go through the gfog and hes on me in seconds.. so many bosses like this in this dlc.. its really irradiating
honestly this is the only boss that i have came across that has been poorly designed
In fact most of the DLC bosses all zig zag like assault missiles and torpedoes. And to break their poise, really takes heavy weapons four to five hit to get them staggered. Should have saw this cheese before confronting this idiotic beast.
So many bosses like this one? I couldn't disagree more. Plenty of aggressive ones sure but not as undodgeble and annoying as this.

Twice as fast as you on horseback, can do a 0° turn to always hit you, rush attack is undodgable, only needs 2 hits at most to kill Torent, 50/50 chance he just dismounts you with a single hit anyway, has a ranged AoE that can't be jumped over on horseback, can't be outran, and Will dismount you if you are hit.
I thought Messmer sucked cuz he just never let up, Gaius is literally just poorly balanced and broken.
The boss design in this dlc is very lazy. Just big HP pools and and non-stop attacks with no safe area. I miss the days when FS put more thought into their bosses than this. 6/10 dlc because of the atrocious boss design

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! That fight was freaking horrible!! I do not know if you're the one who came up with that method but still i thank you deeply. My initial thought when i walked into that fight was "hmm he is on war pig maybe this is best fought while on torrent with the range of my spear of impaler but noooooo his war pig snorted a fat line and had the speed of a top indy 500 racer and that hit box i dont even want to talk about so again i thank you sincerely for this method.

Though I did put on my strongest armor an protection, and when he went into phase two I healed, mounted, ran out and checked to get him stuck again. Where then I could end him. Otherwise he used his phase transition to get around the corner and off me ^^;
tyvm! at the very least he can be repeatedly kited around that corner to great effect. sprinting there initially gave me the time to drop my mimic and, after a few tries, i'm relieved to report that the commander is history.
Holy fucking shit I love you for making this. Idk what it is man, he is the ONLY boss I’ve ever fought that CONSISTENTLY would knock me down, then hit me again (killing me) before I could even get back up. It was basically “if he knocks u down ur dead” and idk why they made him this way.

Nope. They haven't patched it yet. I haven't used the cheese yet but stumbled onto this by chance. I had no way to take advantage because mohgs spear was in my chest but it'd a viable strategy

Worked first try, thank you. Almost died getting to wall but once I did, dropped mimick tear and then kept spamming spear weapon art. Probably helped that I'm an arcane build, but that was super fast and easy.

so is ther a link to the build? cause when i use moghs spear with 99 arcane blood talisman white mask it does jack shit dmg i had to spam the art of war like 100 times to not evne get 25% hp off
EDIT: i was Dentge and forgot i didnt lvl the mog spear so i max lvled it and it was fine mine glitched earlyt and he got around the corner then iw ent around other corner then quickly summoned m ymimic tear and it distarcted him long enough during p2 to get the kill ty for build
Update: I thought I fully upgraded my moghs spear but i didn't which made the difference and ended up doing it ty for build
it took me 4 tries but I got him down using this guide. Thank you!

@PaulLittau tried it about 50 times he no longer gets stuck
you can also just use an antspur rapier with a fingerprint stone shield to just block and spam rb that also works pretty well with this guy

Fromsoft developer deserves a pay cut for this little piece of work.
It just worked for me! It takes a while and a little practice to get him lodged somewhere where he shouldnt be, but after that its easy to achive!
Best one I’ve seen yet. Hate to cheese but dude is probably the hardest boss next to melenia
I found this bug by myself but in another part of the map, I assumed somewhere on the map it would be bugged, I just knew it...

You know the wall that you ran to on the beginning it’s big enough to keep him from moving as long as you stay close to the corner so you can use moghs spear. I beat him in one try doing it that way. As long as you don’t move from the middle of that pillar he won’t come out @:48
can confirm this does somewhat work, although its kind of rng on how much he'll stay behind that corner. use mimic to tank and 80 arcane to get the most out of the ash of war
Worked first try. I had enough FP that I just spammed it the whole time and practically stunlocked him. He only hit me after I got my final hit in.

Depending on your build, Starscourge Greatsword can work even better than Mohgs Spear.

Works great, I didn't have mohgs spear I had gotten the spell with his remembrance, so I used scarlet bloom instead which was just fine. Using both would probably be best tbh
Edit: reason I sought this glitch is this boss is extremely bugged atm. Sometimes I roll straight through his attack, sometimes the hit box doubles and he one shots me with no warning lol
if you can’t use moghs spear just use your coded sword & it works wonders
Thats it, 100% worth it this build. Buffed with flame + golden vow and stomped him with the weapon at +10

This doesn’t seem to work (anymore?). As soon as he starts his AOEs in the second phase they knock you out from the wall and he’ll come after you constantly when that happens.
It works, it's just inconsistent. He ran around the side on his first phase for me a few times.
It may take time but works.
This is the only way I could beat this guy! I'm a veteran and there is no escaping him. Stun locked and killed in two hits!!
Honestly, the fight would be 10x better if you could dodge his ram attack, but it seems utterly impossible
Block it .u don't need to dodge everything. It's a physical attack..a leveled up sheild with high damage negation works like magic . I beat him first try with a sheild and a bleed hammer .makes it super easy
This boss wouldn't be that bad at all.... if the hitboxes worked, and he didn't get to rush you down and have a 50/50 chance to just pin you to the wall immediately and kill you unless you get a lucky dodge. I shouldn't have to glitch the boss into a corner and respec to bleed for a fair fight. From designers definitely missed huge with this one.
This cheese is so inconsistent like I was able to get it to work but the first rush he does when you come out to fight never gets him stuck in that corner hes always half stuck then cancels the attack to get around so you have to juke him the other wat pray he gets stuck on the other side or he'll come around again and then he can get stuck Also after he starts phase 2 he will 99% of the time not get stuck on the side again so you have to pray you can switch and he'll get stuck on the opposite then for some reason he barley gets hit I went through 2 and half FP bars just to hit him 3 times to get the kill due to him not taking any damage I literally flew through the first 2 bosses and this was the one I literally could not beat because I had O chance of summoning without getting hit He litteraly killed my summon like 3 times off the start just from the first charge

I find it funny I was able to kill Mesmer, and final boss within 2-3 tries but this dude wrecked me. Killed him at 139 or so tries before I learned I could roll into his initial charge attack. Then I cheesed him with great shield soldier ashes and blasphemous blade. Idk why but I’ve never been able to get skilled enough for bosses on horseback. Before this I’d say the draconic tree sentinel before maliketh was the hardest boss for me😂😂

This cheese just won't work for me. He either refuses to get stuck on corner, or my mohgs spear won't damage him from other side. It's beyond infuriating.

Doesn’t work for me. He gets stuck and takes some damage but he turns the corner quick and traps me there. And then it’s game over. I gave it a few tries but I’m done.

This ass wipe near on had me raging so bad 😂. I can laugh now but he was beyond annoying. I had a teenth left on my health bar when he died. I scared the cat 😂.

Update: finally got him, but it took that 1 in a million chance he didn't use the gravity attack in phase 2

That was the only boss I killed first try . Can't understand why he's causing everyone all this issues. Knock him with a heavy weapon charged attack twice on the head and he'll be down for a crit attack .rinse and repeat .put some blood affinity on the weapon for extra Crazy bleed damage . Easiest boss in the dlc so far
Ya.. and a great sheild works wonders on the boars attacks . It's physical so u need a good sheild with 100 physical negation and ur golden
