Janet Davies my pleasure 🥰
Lovely hair......need thickness....my hair is thin.....any methods of treatment???????
Honeysuckle you can do a porosity test. Put one strand of your hair in a cup of water. If it floats, it's low porosity. Meaning your follicle is resistant to moisture or doesn't take in moisture easily. If it sinks, you're high porosity. Your hair loves moisture and soaks it up.
Honeysuckle Blossom 😂 you are too funny. Thank you. I’m trying to thicken it some more by doing the fenugreek hair sprit
That lip color is stunning.
Thanks, it’s from Sephora ♥️

What a great intro to start a hair vlog. I'll start watching 🇯🇲
Type 4A/4B lil sections in front and back is 3.density medium. Wet state more on thin side. I’m high porosity. My hair loves organic products or vitamins type products (mane choice).
I love your video it was so informative. I'm so glad that you're trying to help all us sisters with growing our own natural hair so that we want be so prone to wear wigs. Because we've learned from our environment around us that wigs seem to be the easy fix, instead of focusing and caring for our natural hair types. It bothers me that so many of our beautiful women of color are using glue on our heads which is ripping our edges completely off. I truly thank you for educating us on growing our own natural hair. ❤
So kind! I’m glad you found it helpful, this is definitely my goal, I want everyone to reach their healthy hair growth potential. Thank you for watching and commenting ♥️
Every black girl needd to know about you OMG I love how you are detailed and good on how you explain vids about type 3-4 hair God bless ❤️

Thanks sis for the tips!

Wonderful video!
Just wanted to comment and say you have beautiful hair :)
Thank you sweet one ♥️
I am transitioning right now...haven't had a perm since early March 2020, prior to everything shutting down due to the coronavirus. I especially used no heat at all. I'm almost 6 months into my journey and finding I'm very impatient with the two hair textures. I cannot tell what my curl pattern is growing from my scalp due to the permed hair on the ends of my hair. I also keep staring at my hair looking for growth. I need to STOP being so focused on that and focus instead on caring for my hair. I'm determined to get my hair in the healthiest state possible
Beautiful hair.. thanks for the knowledge
Type: all the 4’s
Density: medium
Porosity: low
Fav oil: Olive, avocado, jojoba, jbc
DC: DIY avocado mask w honey and Cantu Cream Conditioner (no proteins, no aloe, no coconut - perfect for protein sensitives like me)
Leave in: yet to find one without the three ingredients my hair hates. I just use oil and film-forming humectants such as flaxseed gel (great for moisture retention)
Method: greenhouse pre-poo with olive and avocado oil over night (the slip for detangling and conditioning qualities are great) . Clay mask the next day (moisture and definition 👌🏾). DC with heat for an hour. Hair feels amazing after all this.
It's taken a loooong time for me to master this method and products. Janet is right about the importance of learning *your* hair. It takes real commitment but it's the only way to get your hair to thrive. I've been natural 3 years and I'm now bra strap. I should be mid-back but had to cut a lot off in that time due to ignorance but now I'm on a roll. Waist length, I'm coming for ya! 💪🏾
I love the detail to this! Thank you so much for sharing beautiful ♥️ As for a leave in have you tried Giovanni? Link is in the bio if you want to see the ingredients, my hair loves it and gives it great slip, let me know how it goes 😁💕
Janet Davies hey Janet 🙋🏾 I have indeed tried Giovanni as I heard great things and natural non-toxic ingredients too. I was so hyped to try it and bitterly disappointed with how my hair responded to it. I was truly perplexed until I finally worked out that my low porosity hair is also protein sensitive and hates Aloe Vera which Giovanni use as there top 3 ingredients across their full range 😩 so nothing containing Aloe Vera for this fro of mine unfortunately. Loving your scripture verses by the way 🙌🏾
Would aloe be considered protein for hair?
Love ourWorld Productions good question - according to a brilliant trichologist named Afope here on RUclips (search her, she's amazing), Aloe Vera is packed full of amino acids which are said to be "the building blocks of proteins" so for me it's a hypersensitivity to these but not the case for everyone.
Have you tried shea moistures jbco line? Or Ik there’s a honey leave in conditioner out there from a brand I don’t remember.
Hair Type: 3a/4b
Density: Thick
Porosity: Low
Fav Oil: Auntie Jackies Grapseed Oil
Leave in Conditioner: Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil leave in conditioner
Regimen: Prepoo, shampoo once a month, cowash weekly, deep condition weekly, Moisturize LO, LG, or CG method.
Happy for you, your hair is very long 😍
Thanks Sis!!
Thank you for the education I surely needed to hear to help me to move forward because I have done a Chop chop and I'm in the process of trying to grow my natural hair back because I got a wild hair back. thank you so much for sharing this information
Most welcome ♥️
Thank you.Im looking forward for your input.Blessed
Hair type: 4c
Density: medium
Porosity: low
Leave-in: any water based leave-in such as Design Essentials Almond & Avocado
(Thick or heavy cream leave ins are hard to penetrate through tightly coiled hair)
Oil: Jamaican black castor oil
Side note: with low porosity 4c hair, it is VERY IMPORTANT you use heat when applying your product otherwise the product just sits on top of your hair and will not get in your strands, as a result create product build up and weighing your strands down. That means deep conditioners under the dryer EVERY wash day. I recently started adding my leave in before I get out of the shower so the steam from hot water keeps the heat in my head, that's a game changer ladies! Even if I need to add water to my hair, I put hot water in my spritz bottle. If your 4c low porosity, we need moisture (water), heat to penetrate the product, and oil to seal in the moisture(water).
Have considered a hair steamer instead of using direct heat from a hair dryer? I'm low porosity too and it works wonders if I'm not going into the shower and using them steam I sit under the hair steamer and then apply all my conditioners etc. It works very well
Excellent video :)
You’re too kind, thank you ♥️
Yeah my hair grows as slow as 1inch every 4 months, so, I guess I'll see myself out.
😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 Same
Similar. Daily scalp massages will stimulate blood flow and growth.
Lol mine stopped completely
@@scarpiongirl6172 lol! If it stopped completely you would have alopecia... Unless you do have alopecia. If you do have alopecia then just embrace the bald look! I had a teacher at school who was bald and she was said by the boys to be the hottest teacher! Lol!
Hi love, please don’t give up. Yes there are genetics but there are things we can do to promote growth, one of these things is a good hair care routine to ensure that you maintain the length of the hair you are growing. In this series I’m going to also teach on ways to boost growth. I am waiting to get to this point because the most important thing is having a good routine and understanding your hair, once you have this locked down then and inly then is it beneficial to learn at ways to boost hair growth because then you will be able to maintain that length from your good routine! ♥️
I had to subscribe when you said stop 🛑 doing what all youtubers are doing cause I’m like oh I’m trying this and that I’m watching this to the end thank you 🙏🏽

PURITY M.....your specs ate similar to mine. When you DC on the week that you do not shampoo, do you cowash?
@@gloriajjackson5035 yeah, I cowash with As I Am cowash.... Sometimes I use African black soap to wash my hair and sometimes I use bentonite clay .... I only shampoo once a month

Type: 3c/4a
Density: high
Porosity: low
Conditioner: Shea moisture jbco leave in or Bella Curls jbco leave in conditioner (on the cheaper side but it’s awesome, keeps my hair moisturized for four days before I need to refresh)
Styler: wetline xtreme or eco styler argan oil, I alternate between different creams depending on what I’m going for
Oil: JBCO, Argan oil, or the Pantene gold series oil... so amazing and thick!!
Deep conditioner: Aussie moisture 3 minute miracle (the sea kelp or coconut oil one I’m going to try the apricot one but so far I’m loving both even as a girl whose hair hates coconut oil, it has my hair so incredibly soft when I rinse it out and shiny!)
Routine: wash once per week, sometimes twice (depending on if I work out or do other activities), deep condition with shower cap, detangle with leave in conditioner + twist up. I’ll use a blow dryer sometimes when I feel like it but not always, I like to air dry because my wash days aren’t late at night but if they are, I’ll be sure to blow dry but first I’ll soak up the extra moisture with an old shirt.
Protein: honestly I don’t do these very often but I can tell when my curls are a little limp so I do a protein treatment about once every three months or so, just depends on how my hair feels
My hair is 4c and coconut oil my hair loves it!

You’re medium porosity which is why u have high and low porosity characteristics

Thank you girl, it does take some time to know it but if you google the hair type chart that is a starting point. For reference I am a 4a/b mix xx
Thanks for the info. While we are growing our hair what are the best protective styles to use e.g. weaves, extensions etc?

Simple and very effective.
Just subscribed. I’m currently relaxed with about 2 1/2 inches of new growth. I want to transition so I’ve started using natural products and taking care of my hair. I don’t won’t to big chop but I did have to cut about 4-5 inches a few weeks ago because of really bad split ends. I hadn’t had a trim in 2020 😳. This will be my second time trying to wear my natural hair. The first time I did the big chop but was not focused on healthy hair only on styling my natural hair which was a bust hence why I went back to being relaxed. Now that I’m focused on healthy hair I think I’m better equipped to wear my natural hair. Prayers needed!!!
Sending prayers you way!! I know it aint easy but hopefully my videos will ease the process lots of love 💕💕

My hair is very similar to yours, and much like you, I have to section my hair (6 sections), before I wash it/style it to protect my length. My hair is high porosity and it used to tangle like crazy until I discovered ‘Cream of Nature Argan oil series’. My hair literally loves that entire line of product, but it especially loves the intense conditioning treatment and the moisture & shine curl activator creme for my curls. Sense I switched to that from Aussie Moist (which my hair used to really love, but now rejects), I have way less shedding when detangling. Btw I found you haphazardly on Pinterest, but now I’m definitely a subscriber. Thanks for the tips☺️
Thanks for your comment lovely! Didn’t even know I was on Pinterest haha ♥️

Sounds great, excited for you as you start your journey ☺️♥️.
With porosity, our ends actually tend to be higher in porosity, did you take a strand from the root?
This will be in my next video but typically low porosity hair is characterised by product not absorbing into the hair unless applied in/just after the shower, unless it just “sits” on the hair without penetrating.
High porosity hair is characterised by hair that takes moisture in very quickly but typically it evaporated quite easily and feels dry after.
I hope this helps you sweet one ♥️
What do you do when you have short long short hair in different sections.

P.S if you have really thick hair like mine that’s hard to retain mustier, I recommend using Blue magic because trust me that things like magic.
Plus, Leaving in Aloe Vera, overnight before wash day. Is like the bomb. Come, girl trust me! try it and you will not regret it.
Also, I prefer using Argon oil shampoo: it’s SLS + Paraben free also allows you to retain your natural hair mustier compared to when I used the Shaea moisture shampoo + conditioner. That thing left my hair feeling all crispy, dry and tangled.
I love your hair 😍
Thank you beautiful ♥️

I been trying to grow my hair to mid back or waist length but due to illnesses I had a setback. Anyway, I'm a little over 4 years natural and my hair is only at/or approaching bra strap length. Also, I have multiple curl patterns from S to O (curls and coils) and have a hard time identifying my curls ( 3B-4B). Therefore, I'm experimenting to see what my hair likes... I have high porosity, medium density, fine hair strands as well as spongy hair. Also, I use sunflower oil, avocado oil, grapeseed oil, olive oil and Jamaican black castor oil. These are the only oils I will used for my hair. Just subscribed.

Hey Beautiful, I am not sure how all of these mix, but I do know that Vitamin E does stimulate hair growth though ♥️.

Don't put anything on them, massage them daily and don't put any tension on them. That's it.
@Saundra Williams thanks. Credit to my Trichologists. It's their advice. They hate edge control.
My hair is locs, not sure what my hair is. I had locs for about 12 years waist length, then i cut it all off. My hair texture was curly, which it wasn't before( my hair texture changed) lol
After 2 months i went back to being loc. Its been a year now and my hair is taking so long to grow.
Locs are so beautiful 🥰🥰. I’m going to do some videos on oils that boost hair growth soon, stay tuned ♥️♥️
