- Sam Bush Band perform "Bringing in that Georgia Mail" live at Old Settlers Music Festival in Austin Texas 4/21/07. Sam is a phenomenal picker and band leader with roots in the oldtime while holding the dubious distinction of creating the term New Grass. Later that night at the festival me and a friend where back in the parking lot and Sam's Bus was there and we yelled "SAM BUS" at it a few times mocking the stage exit he is known to do :)

Blazing Hot
Like the title of the song
Best version EVER that I've heard of this tune!
I just so LOVE it that our Sam's not a mic hog. Everyone gets a chance to shine - and they are all damned excellent pickers. But then - I imagine that Sam would set the bar pretty high. Deadly picker, extremely soulful singer . . . He's just one of my favourite PEOPLE, ever. . . .
This kicks ass.
"A good time was had by all" - Lum & Abner show quote, applies here.
4:06 - 4:21 is one reason why Scott Vestal recently won the Steve Martin Prize for Excellence in Banjo! So well-deserved, as Scott's playing is inventive, fierce and so musical.
Craig Wales went straight from Scruggs to outer space
damn they shred
Great!
I've loved this song all my life. I have one of Bill's nickels.
IM JUST GOING WOW
Great Version Sam and Guys Pick it Sam
and Scott
Great stuff!
Stephen Mougin is an excellent fit for this band. The guy can flat out play.
Bluegrass..Newgrass..Rules!
Scott Vestal is a machine
HAHAHAHA Scott had to hydrate before he melted his banjo down
How does he find individual strings with that right hand flailing away like it does?
if the terminator played the banjo , that is what it would sound like
Play it Byron house!!! Sam bush is a good mandolin player in this song and the drums sound good too!!!!!
world class sam bush still first in space-grass!
Shit hot! Not a band I'd want to be in!!
GOOD I play the mandolin and I like to think that anybody could do this, the notes are there waiting for you to press them... And were just learning to press them.
Damn! It's hard to say that this is better than the Flatt and Skruggs original, which was a more relaxed tempo with HUGE old timey harmonies from the backups, but I said g'dayem Bush and boys kick some tail here! Of course this song is titled, "Bringing in *the* Georgia Mail" But still...damn!
Sam & the guys : you are killers !!!
Each time Sam moves his pick hand, it looks like he is hitting every string on the mandolin and not individual ones.
4:50 oh man
Yogi :D
If you don't think this worth your time, why do you watch it? Bugger off!
Fast forward to 2:50 if you wanna hear "Bringing in that Georgia mail"
Don't fast forward if you want to hear a great jammy intro
