- Biggest Quest 3 update brings new features. This quest 3 v66 update bring the possibility to listen to background music inside virtual reality while also unlocking a big improvement in passthrough quality and letting you finally hide apps inside your quest library. We also had vr news from the big bonelab patch 4 update and the vr game called Behemoth. With such a big vr news update it only makes you wonder what v67 will have to offer.

As someone who owned Quest 1, 2, and 3, I strongly disagree that this is the biggest update ever. We have had updates that added hand tracking for the first time using just cameras, improved refresh rates, native Link support for the first time, and more. Smoother passthrough and new wrist buttons are barely a foot note. Quest 1 shipped with 60 hertz (or maybe it was 90?), no wired or wireless link, no hand tracking, and very few software features, and each of those updates was way better and much more of a big deal than v66.
Unless you mean file size or simply length of the change log, in which case this may technically be the biggest update ever.
In the world of clicks..the next update is always “the biggest update ever.” 😂
Maybe it should be said: the biggest update for the moment. But anyway, I only expected this (the better pass-through), remembering the many updates for the Quest2, those improvements keeps the usage interesting.

How do I get background music to play? I have used youtube, clicked notifications, and the three dots to press play, but when I return to resume the game the music stops.

I mean no hate when I say this, but I didn't click this video for virtual desktop, bonelab, and behemoth news I've already heard. I clicked this for a quest update.
On this channel like many others we have VR news updates which don't just include the update but since that is the main name of the title that is what I start of with and end with the other minor VR news of that moment. This is how most news channels make their stuff. I hope you still enjoy it.
@@VRelity Some do, however they include more descriptive stuff in the title. Your title gets very misleading as all it talks about is a singular quest update and not vr news.

I thought you needed eye tracking for foveated rendering ? which the quest 3 does not have right ?
Foveated rendering works without eye tracking but it's not as good. Instead of blurring things you aren't looking at it just blurs things near the edges of your lenses

depends on your needs but 128 should be enough normally for people who have their first vr headset. I hope that answered your question?
Sadly, they locked access to the data folder, which is crucial for modding. They confirmed they aren't bringing it back.

they didnt lock it, it was a side effect of switching to a newer version of Android
@mapkidd nope, we assumed that, but recently they released a statement talking about "improving user experiencd" etc, and said they won't reverse the change
When I had the quest too, I had a home environment that I could access anytime I was using AirPlay. Now that I have the quest three I tried to go back to it and I just don’t even see an option for it anywhere does anyone know if that’s still available somehow because I liked what I built and I would like to access it. Again. Is it just gone like echo VR?

But still no mod support? Yeah, meta prob won’t bring it back. That could be the downfall of oculus.

The customisation aint that different in my option between quest 2 and quest 3 and we still are waiting for some big changes regarding that. I hope that answered your question?
how do i edit my task bar to remove or switch out, horizon feeds, store and people apps?! they make the menu useless
Sadly the task bar options are very limited in editing we just got the feature now to hide apps finally afters years

@@VRelity I could. all you had to do is play your video then go to notifications and scroll down untill you see the video then click the three dots and press play and youre good.

I don't see how I can hide the app or get rid of the from my list. You don't show how either
You click on the 3 dots in the app library for the app you want to hide. If you don't see it you probably haven't gotten that part of the update yet
For it to be possible you first need update v66
@@awsometaco64 I believe you are correct because I have the V66 update but I do not have that feature yet. Why it is not with the original V66 update is a mystery to me.

You will need the v66 update first. once you got that you will see 3 dots next to the apps where you can click on and press hide app. I hope that helped? if you don't see the option it means you probably don't have the update yet.

Yes, you could have done it before the update but it would just stop playing the music at some point.

Actually it is. Before it was not a full feature at all and this is the first time it is fully intergrated into an official update which you can see on the meta keynote itself. I hope you still enjoyed the video.
