- One of the teens hurt by a lightning strike recalls being knocked to the ground and falling in and out of consciousness while being transported to the hospital.

A whole football team died in CO several years back when hit by lightning! Never take cover under a tree for lightning!
When I was younger, one of our neighbors would let us hunt and fish on his ranch.
One day, I noticed a bunch of buzzards landing and taking off about a half mile from where I was fishing.
After walking towards the buzzards for a couple hundred yards I realized that the tree was still smoldering little bit and there were 6 dead cows and 3 dead calves scattered around it.
I beat feet back to our house to call the owner, then, after he picked me up in his pickup I guided him to the place.
Since we were in a drought with a county wide burn ban he had to bury them with a backhoe.
Hence me realizing how useful backhoe are.......☠️☠️☠️

Just don't get under the tallest tree or structure around if you have any choice to avoid the hail is about the only thing you can do.
And if you do get into that situation, I would think that staying as far away from the trunk as possible may increase your odds of surviving if the tree or structure takes a lightening strike, though if whatever structure you're under takes the main bolt, your odds of survival decrease exponentially.

There is no where to take cover in all instances of sudden rain systems that appear. When you are outdoors your options are limited. Fishing is one sport that is the most often reported lightning strike. So, if you’re fishing, lay that rod down fast! Hearing thunder does not mean the lightning strike was right where you are, it could be ten miles away and not even be cloud to ground lightning. It is an overstatement to say you might get struck by lightning every time you hear a clap of thunder. About 300 out of 360,000,000 people get struck by lightning every year of which about 50 are fatalities. So, no, I don’t automatically think I am going to get struck by lightning when I hear a clap of thunder.

I was sitting on my deck last summer watching a storm. Lightning struck a little to close for comfort so i made the decision to go back inside. Soon as i stood up Lightning struck again but this time hit the tree 2 feet from my deck. Last thing i remember was seeing the brightness of white light you can even imagine. My roomate who was sitting a few feet away in the livingroom said he heard a bang an when he looked up an out the window seen sparks shooting out of our railing. Im SUPER lucky to be alive and ok.

My sister used to be terrified when lightning was around, and my mother would never answer the phone.
There is something special about this group of young adults. God has something big for you! You will realize what it is soon.
What about the all children born into captivity and raped constantly, kept in a dark room and with no family ? Cos ya know that happens and it’s happening right now to many thousands of kids , what’s gods plan for those kids ? Sounds like he actually either doesn’t give a toss about them or he doesn’t exist. The first man, Adam, made the choice to go against the standard of good that God had set. Ever since then, every person has been born with a sin nature - a natural separation from God. Every person has the ability and freedom to choose wrong, to choose to do evil. If God were to step in and take away evil, He would have to destroy every man, woman, and child on earth, because of that innate sin nature. EVERY person falls short of the perfection of God (that's what the word sin means, to 'fall short', to 'miss the mark'). That's what the whole Jesus dying on the cross and raising thing was all about. Jesus corrected the relationship between God and man my taking the penalty for mankind's sin. God came to earth in our form to RESCUE the world, not to obliterate it. He is coming back (SOON!) to take His faithful outta here (believe me,the world will say it was alien abduction), but then a few short years, back to earth to rule and reign here. I hope this makes sense to you. I hope you earnestly seek God and accept His rescue for yourself personally. He DOES love you, more than you could ever know.

When lightning strikes around or near you always get as low as you can because lightning will most always strike the tallest thing around. Prayers to you and everyone who was their and survived 🙏

My husband was hit with ball lightning when he was a kid. Woke up some time later with no issues. Occasionally when there's lightning out he'll get head pains when it strikes but not often.

I got struck by lightning when I was 14. I remember feeling my hair lift up and feeling extreme fear, then waking up to my mother standing over me, screaming for my dad to call an ambulance. When I got hit I flew forward and hit my head on the corner of a bench and had a major concussion but other than that I was fine

My best friend's mom was struck*(corrected) by lightning when was 10 years old while carrying a bucket full of milk from the bar to the house.
From that point she was extremely afraid of any thunder close or far away.

My sons cousin got struck twice. He's an idiot though. He was cutting a tree down in a thunderstorm. The weather man for WBTV CHARLOTTE said if you can hear thunder you can be struck by lightning. I've always followed that advice. People have been where its sunny and beautiful and have been struck out of no where. So better safe than dead. If you hear thunder I suggest finding shelter FAST.
@@Boo-dawg. I’ve seen that. Sunny day, very light intermittent showers. My Mum went out to put the rubbish bin back in its correct position. I was looking out of the window. Suddenly a bolt of lightening struck a few feet away. I yelled at her to get in and she sort of ran back and forth for a few seconds as if wanting to get in but also wanting to get the bin positioned correctly. Never seen anything like it. And yes, a sunny day.

Happened to me in 2007 I was a camp and we were hiking when a storm came, we all made shelter under some trees. Lightning struck tree that me and another guy were sitting on, my shoulder was against tree, and guy in front of me was laying down with his head on root.
Next thing we know I felt a sharp pain in my shoulder unlike anything. Kid in front of me instantly started to seize.
IWe were 1 mile from highway so me and another girl bolted to road for cell service. She and I fell several times in the rain . It was insane. We all lived! But it def is an insane memory
Many times, people who go through something like that have special gifts 🎁 that are awakened. Healing and psychic 🔮 abilities.

Getting hot by lightening is not the same as getting knocked down by it's precision. If there are no burns, he got hit with air.
You should always get checked by a hospital after electric shock/strike. A father in his early 30s died from a dissecting aorta they believe delayed from electrical shock during work some days later...3-4? 2-3?

Just watched a yt vid about abunch of girls on a christian church group hike, they say a lightning strike near them felt like they got struck on the head by a baseball. Now this guy says a nearby lightning strike felt like a baseball bat...

Always walk in water during a thunder/ lightening storm, oh and be sure to be on your cell phone as well so you make a good lightening rod.
If you are out in the open during a thunderstorm the only thing you can do is lie flat on the ground.
