    I always feel like not mentioning future CPU support is a big miss. Intel's LGA 1700 is now end of the line dead while AM5 is going to be supported for at least 2 additional future generations.

      Yeap, one of the big benefits of going AM5, especially seeing how AM4 has panned out over the past few years. Definitely helps that PCIe Gen 5 is supported on some AMD AM5 chipsets too for additional future-proofing!

    Kudos for pointing out the shared bandwidth between M2._3 and the second pcie slot. So many ignore this type of detail, but it is important to those of us who use more than one slot. Cheers.

      Glad this video helped. Doesn't help that board manufacturers tend to make such things mere footnotes in the product descriptions...seeing a lot of this for the high-end Intel Z790 boards where the PCIe 5.0 x16 slot shares bandwidth with the primary M.2 drive, and yet there are plenty of folks out there who are unaware of such a PCIe lane sharing situation!

    I like this, I stopped lighting up my PC so much. This board is great. Less is more and I did a custom light setup on mine to give it a Tron style look. Where I took the board and I used an OPTICAL FIBER CABLE to go around the board to give it that outline. As for my fans I use Halo 120mm and last I use G.SKILL Trident.
    Before I had strimmer's and all that shit lighting up. This has been one of the cooler boards and I like the looks of it. Before I was using MSI and GIGABIT. But Yeah I think I love these enough that I'm going to stay on point. The 4090 matching GPU that I got for my board looks great with its small lighted accent. Less is more.

    • @ALKtech
      @ALKtech  Год назад

      This board uses the B650 chipset, which only supports PCIe Gen 5 for the M.2 slots. The B650E-F on the other hand, uses the higher-end B650E chipset that supports PCIe Gen 5 for both a graphics card and M.2 slot! Both boards should be priced fairly differently as well, with the ROG STRIX being more expensive than the TUF Gaming. If you're looking to future-proof your AM5 build, you should get a board with a B650E or X670E chipset!

    Asus Tuf Gaming B650-plus Wifi or MSI MAG Tomahawk or MSI MAG Mortar?

    • @ALKtech
      @ALKtech  7 месяцев назад

      What's the price difference like between the three boards where you're from? The Tomahawk and ASUS board are full-sized ATX offerings, while the Mortar is a microATX board; if you're gonna use a full-sized ATX case, I'd rather you look at the ASUS in this video or the Tomahawk. That said, the Tomahawk does have slightly better specs (e.g. a better VRM configuration and WIFI 6E) versus the ASUS, but ultimately, price would be the most important deciding factor here in my opinion.

      @igsk1llz 7 месяцев назад

      @@ALKtech yeah agree. I'm from India, I'm planning to build it feb or whenever there are offers or sales starts. I'm gonna use it for long term use so maybe I'll go for Tomahawk? But this Asus does impress me

    • @reinulf5474
      @reinulf5474 7 месяцев назад

      The Asus has a PCIe 5.0 M2 slot! It's only Wifi 6 (without E) though, has fewer USB 3 ports on the back (2 USB A and 2 USB-C, all 10GBPS and one of the C types 20GBPS) and no Optical out. Its front USB-C is only 5 Gbps. /// The MSI has no PCIe 5 M2 slot. It has more USB 3 ports on the back and its front USB-C is 10GBPS compared to the 5 at Asus. It has optical out but a more problematic ALC4080 Audio chip that is connected by USB. It also has more (6) SATA ports, but it's no clear how they are connected. 2 are by an ASM1061 (bad stuff) and 4 are connected directly to the chipset but only by a maximum of 2 PCIe 3.0 lines. The 4 SATA ports on the ASUS are all connected with a separate line.@@igsk1llz

    • @ALKtech
      @ALKtech  7 месяцев назад

      @@igsk1llz I see - I guess no harm adopting a wait-and-see approach to see how prices are in Feb, before deciding. If the MSI turns out to be cheaper than the ASUS, I'd definitely go for the MSI for sure seeing as it has better specs. If the ASUS is cheaper than the MSI however...you'll have to decide whether the additional specs are worth it for your use case!

      Why use optical? The stero 3.5 are better in all reguards. Dac, Amp, receiver, headphones, headset, mic, speakers can all be connected. Optical is for cheaper audio options

      If you're not intending to build a super high end AM5 PC, this board will indeed be more than enough!
