I come back to this video all the time and honestly I haven’t seen a metal drummer wow me like this since I first heard Chris Adler. First heard him on Ashes of the wake, then Sacrament and got my mind blown. But Alex, to me is just that next level of drumming.

My gawd...the technique...the expert use of all symbols...the constant change in tempo...the blasts...the double kick!! I'm stunned! He is definitely in my top 5 favorite drummers! And for Trivium itself...best metal band in the last 15 years...period! I love you guys!! Thank you so much for making metal awesome for me again and thank you guys for bringing back real art to the music you make!!
The thing I think I love most about this is look at the drum setup:
1. Not too crazy in terms of cymbals and drums. 2 BD, 1 SD, 2 Toms, and 1 FT. There are quite a few cymbals, but I've seen some drummers who use even more.
2. No cymbal is left neglected. Variety is amazing.
3. Everything is really open but not too far apart.
After seeing this I am inspired to know Alex gets this much technical complexity out of a tasteful build like this. So almost anyone with enough practice can play these songs. Such a legend.
It's great to see another amazing musician who can keep up with the rest of Trivium.
