True. The beauty is, that we can all mix and match however we need them to. :)

Thanks for the great review! I definitely have had this experience with art supplies.--for me it was pastel watercolors.

Thank you for the comment! Yes, pastel watercolors, I totally can see that happen to me too. :D

This is perhaps the cutest hermit crab I've ever seen. Even if the paints didn't cooperate exactly as you'd like, you still made amazing art!

:D Thanks! I'm glad the hermit crab looks cute. I wish I could make him just a tiny bit cuter. Maybe next crab will be.

@@LanaGoesArt "one crab cuter" can be a new unit of measurement because I'm certain every time you paint it just keeps getting better 🥰

I have a similar feeling about these. Haven't used them in quite a while now though, so maybe I can think of a way to use them again soon.
They are so fun, and I am a magpie, give me all the shimmery stuff, which was part of why I got these. The colour and graphite separate so much on (plastic) mixing trays, which can be difficult, but is helpful if you want more or less graphite for a bit. I have made fun pieces with them, but nothing exceptional, and it was definitely not relaxing or easy at all.
Novel paints for people who enjoy a muted shimmery watercolour look, and are willing to put some real work into it.
(I do really like your painting in the video, but you can see that it was a struggle)

Hi, thanks for the insights. I agree that they can work and I think if I use pencils on top for texture or other watercolour for more values these can be great for effects. But not as a standalone set. Maybe even for natural sketches with lineart?
I feel like this can also be a bit more relaxing as you say and not struggle. :)

You can make your waterbrush fit into the pallet. You online neede to file the cap of the brush a little. Put your cap upright on a nailfile and file a little. On the inside of the cap you see little notches that make the cap click. Leave enough space for them. Good luck.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I won't do that and it's a valid point in a review. People need to know about the set unaltered. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I wonder why more people don't show how you could mix this set with other sets to get the colors not included in it. It would be interesting to see painters come up with examples of mixing.

Well... There is a simple explanation. Because we review this set. If we want to show how every color mixes with every other color from other lines, brands etc, it will take up days of unnecessary time. Because it's not beneficial to anyone. The lines of watercolors from the big brands have 80 to 300 colors each. Where would I start, where would I stop? And would it actually tell you anything about these paints? I don't think so.
But I can tell you how this palette works if you had only this palette to work with. How it behaves, about the pros and cons.
If you know the basics of color mixing you also will probably be able to estimate how the colors will mix with others. Knowing about the properties of pigments, like introducing granulationg to the mixes if you want to. There is so much possible in color theory, that simple mixing videos will not give you the information you seek. No mix is always 50/50. So if you want to be creative and see how these would mix with your collection of watercolors, it would be easier to test it yourself and see whether you like the results.
      Have a wonderful day!
