Yes, I agree with you, I own a tata car (Tiago) for last 6 years, I have plan to buy a new car but I will not choose tata now.
Yes Tata cars are safe for drive, but once you get any issue you will end up walking to service station multiple times, then also no use because they are not up to the mark to give best service.

We bought Tata Altroz for my sister on May 2020. And regularly maintaining services on time. Even if we get small minor issues, we will report and service correctly. On Mar 2023, we did general service and in June we got engine heat issue, so we raised a complaint and ask them to service properly by addressing the issue. They said no leakage at engine and refilled the coolant. So we took car after 2 days to Kodaikanal trip and on return again we faced the heat temperature indicator issue. So we off the engine and stayed on road for 1 hour and then slowly drove to nearby Dindigul tata service centre. They checked and couldn't find the issue and again refilled the coolant. After that, we didnt go anywhere for long trip and used only within the city for 5 months. Then suddenly last month engine completely shut off and didnt start. When we reported, they didnt even have tow service so asked us to avail tow service with 6.5k for 40 kms. Then they suspected and opened the engine and we come to know the Head, the Block and the Gas cut jas been melted and burnt inside. Around 70% of then engine is gone and now they ask us to pay the bill of 2 lakhs for new engine parts and service stating that we didnt chose extended warranty insurance. We were completely frustrated and escalated the issue to Tata head of Tamilnadu. They say it might be manufacturing defect and since the company guaranteed warranty of 2 years is expired, they will pay half and asked us to pay from our end....
I am not sure why we were victimized for the things that is not our responsibility. As a customer, I followed all my procedures and services from my end. But still we are the victim at the end.
    No more trust in Tata.

This is spot on. I was waiting for nexon facelift … when I saw lot of quality issues reported in the media drive I firmly decided not to go for Tata.
Still I can’t believe how come the test drive cars provided for media reviews can have lot of fit and finish issues.
This shows the laid back attitude of TATA. The recent fame about the safety and vocal for local campaign certainly helped them gain more sales but it is a double edged sword which could ruin the reputation very quickly if Tata don’t concentrate on quality issues.

Sir, I would like to share my personal experience with TATA motors. In 2010, I booked Vista Safire after test driving. The sales executive said that the car will be delivered within 5 days. I really wondered. Because the waiting period at that time was 1 month. As promised by the sales executive, delivery was scheduled in the very next week. On the day of delivery, I asked them to show me the car before PDI. The sales executive accepted and some how he postponed it time to time. At the end of the day in the evening I straight away went to the showroom. I was shocked to see the car was full of dust. The odometer showed 230 kms. Immediately I refused to take delivery. The negotiations went on till 10.00 pm and was delivered with a cashback of 50000. The point is, cheating the customer if they are ignorant. Later I came to know that it was used for test driving. This was my first car buying experience with TATA motors The True Sai works Salem.

There is a quality mindset inside the manufacturing facility.
People working in Indian manufacturers take quality concerns very lightly.
The Japanese and Korean manufacturers mindset itself is different.
You can't blame only QC, even due to production pressure, they will push out the vehicles.

      @karthiihtrak96 6 месяцев назад +2

@@elangomalavan2276 I explained that too in the comment, that Japanese mindset is different inside the factory.
The Tatas and mahindra got an unimaginable market response in a short time due to their proper R&D but are not capable of producing enough numbers which is reflected in their waiting periods
Which inturn puts production number pressure on these manufacturers.
Thus it leads to total pressure on their production sites which leads to low quality.
Also Indian bosses have a quantity mindset over quality.

Tata policy nevers allows to sack out the employee, unless found guilty ethically. So people taking their job as granted which leads to the spoken issues. Adding to the above points, yesterday my Nexon Car battery became dead. Not even 2 full years it lasted.
Note: Battery comes with the Car has a warranty of 18 Months, mine lasted for 22 months. Hence, I am unable to claim replacement.
I don't know if this is how other manufacturers are manufacturing the car. Hence TATA is not going to be on my bucket list anymore for Cars.
Additionally, the 24/7 assist person who came for the jump start sprayed something on the battery terminal to avoid salt formation. During this the spray can nozzle broke and he accidentally sprayed that paint inside the engine bay and I am unable to remove that spray paint from the labels on the fuse box engine bay etc... totally pathetic service.

I am one of the first owner of grey colour tiago in 2018. Ran 91000km as of now. There were lot many compromise even in honeymoon period. There was a noise reduction plate on the engine bonnet on first generation tiago which tata removed for cost cutting. The parcel shelf tray behind back seat never fitted with locks on side pillar. It use to hang loosely. The reverse gear is always issue and it gives a sound of turning a cranked gears. Loosely hanging wires below seats and also in engine area. Moreover, when the engine was 60000 km suddenly there was a surge in fuel consumption and when I went to showroom they were giving me advice on way of driving. We got frustrated by response and gave to local service who identified the fuel injector of one of the piston malfunctions and he replaced hence fixing the issue. The ppl is service area are not given proper training. Now at 91000 km the avg mileage is 15km only but once I had 22-23 during initial phase. Now like many I will not buy again tata, I am planning to go for other brands. For first time buyers they are good, but once ppl got used to driving they will look for performance and other features where tata has to go long mile.

TATA should look for management change , which is highly needed now for TATA. people with VISION and KNOWLEDGE will bring changes in industry like RATAN did for this company. they should communicate with employees frequently , they are still not manufacturing TAXI cars. if you want to compete in this market you always be a buyer not a manufacturer.

But they are not highlighting these QC and ASS issues that customers are facing. They have access to top heads in Tata Motors, but they are losing the opportunity to convey customers frustrations.

Absolutely true, I began to observe numerous fit and finish issues after one month. This includes irregular glove box closure, uneven panels in the bonnet area, paint spills, rust in screw washers, and uneven door panels. I concur that there is a significant flaw in their quality control team. These flaws are readily noticeable, and I'm puzzled as to how they passed the quality control test. Despite these issues, I must acknowledge that it provided me with the best driving experience, comfort, handling, and confidence while driving at high speeds. Tata should truly address these concerns urgently.

I own Tata Nexon purchased in the month of July-2023. I agree with the Fit and Finish issue, I keep asking the service guys to look into this and raised complaint but they said it come like that only. I also agree on the paint issue, quality of paint for brand new vehicle is not that great.

In Ford Figo petrol 2010 model I faced problem in engaging reverse gear more than 13 years, inspite of repeated complaint in the service station, but in vain. In Maruti Swift Dzire, 2016 model, I saw more paint drops on both the sides at the bottom below the doors. At that time, I was not aware of this PDI in Coimbatore. In both brands, no reliability of QC to my bitter experience.

Because of these reasons, we are stuck with maruthi and Hyundai for the last 30 years due to their great support and service. We want to support an Indian car manufacturer however I am afraid to get Tata and mahindra cars because of their quality, service and support. They are just selling with their 5 star rating.

Very True. Any Tata owner will definitely accept it. But new people who gonna buy may not accept. After buying new Tata Altroz xz+(petrol) on may,I never recommend the Tata Car. I always say to my Frd’s & family members never buy any Tata Car. I received damaged product after complaint, the dealer put blame on us.
When u rise complain no one from Tata will never follow up, Tata will rise the complaint and forward it to Tata Dealership. That’s it, then the problem is between customer & dealership.Tata Dealership will close the complaint putting blame on customer.
Tata just sells the product, doesn’t care about all the problems. It’s like they can’t hear what we say. They are just dump persons. Want to earn money and live.

Taken a new Tata Punch in November from PPS, Chennai. They have 70 years of experience in selling cars. Given the choice of making a decision on buying the same car, I would not go for Tata and PPS Tata. The challenge I face is in their poor SERVICE. Buying a car is easy. But, after-sales is the WORST experience with Tata. There is a sluggish clutch and the brake gets locked while driving. The infotainment upgrade from 3.5 inches to 9 inches from PPS Tata Sales was a disaster move. Simply put, the infotainment system does not work and they are not responding to any of the calls or emails.

As an owner of Altroz Diesel (1 year and 20K kms driven) I agree 90% of the points Asir bro said. Fit and finish and QC should be improved a lot, Service Centre attitude should be changed
The car is great, ride quality, stability, comfort and as a whole a great car to drive. Even I covered 500 kms in a non stop ride. But has some fit and finish issues when I bought, I noted them all and SGA helped me rectify 90% of the problems even they replaced several parts but most of the other SCs are not considering these small niggles and always have an excuse "Intha car ellathulayum intha prachana iruku".
The reverse gear slotting issue is there in Altroz 1.5L Revotorq. I also had DPF issues (After 5K kms) and the same driving lesson talk was happened to me. They just regenerate and give it back which we can do in home itself. So I directly called the Regional manager of TATA and then only they cleaned the O2 sensors and checked the soot levels. After that there is no DPF issue till date. Tata managers are doing good in recent times, if they improve the QC and service approach the sales will surely double.

Absolutely, have been seeing so many horror stories on social media, that I will never consider a Tata Motors product. They are not exactly cheap and on top of it having so many QC, Sales and Service issues, I really don't know how they've become the 2nd largest in sales...with increasing sales I think the after sales and dealers will be having nightmares on how to "samalify" and send the customer away for the day...😁the whole production line needs an over haul, great job of the pod cast and you've hit the nail on the head

I own Tata Tiago XZ+ Petrol, 2019 variant.
My First car bought mostly thinking safety on mind.
I had bad experience with service centre.
Central locking sensor was gone with in two years.
My left side door was not locking, the service center made scratches on both insides of front left and right doors.
Car AC coil was gone in the second year.
Engine starts but not accelerates when kept idle for 2 days. I have to turn it off and start it repeatedly to warm it up and run.
Third year steering rack is started having problem. Cranking noise when turning.
Reverse cranking sound. I have to move slightly forward and put reverse to fix this.
I stopped giving to Tata service guys. Instead I am giving to local insurance authorised centre.
    Their AMC is a joke
