Another awesome flosstube! Thank you for the visit! Oh my gosh the fall stitch with the seagull and pumpkins is a must for this So. Cal girl! You have officially enabled!I have a wip from the late 80’s or very early nineties. It is a Nativity Christmas tree skirt that got put aside when my Motherinlaw gave all of her 6 children quilted tree skirts. It is just as well because as the years went by, the tree skirt would get tied around the dog as a cape and under the tree a favorite nap location for our cats. I still want to finish it and will repurpose where it will not get clobbered and actually show. That floral wreath is amazing!!Looking forward to joining the bunny SAL! I have a few of the French charts from stash unloads and look forward to puruse The French Needle even though this is my no buy year…but whats life without an occasional treat!

I had that problem, I”m an Aida stitcher and fell in love with 18 and 20 counts , because I can use 1 thread. Currently I have 2 projects that require 2 threads and I’m not loving the projects. One is on 16 ct with blends, but it is small and I’ll power through it. The other is part of a set I started when I first got back into stitching and have done 2 on 18ct white with 2 threads. I’m regretting that decision now. I may try the next one with a single thread and see if I like it better. Worst case I do the rest on 20 or 22 with 1 strand. I’m framing them in hoops and grouping them on my dining room wall, so multiple sizes aren’t an issue.

Your experience is very similar to what I've heard from others. I look at my projects now and think "no, I won't fall out of love with these" but it's not the charts, it's the process and feel of stitching (twisted threads, bulkiness) that's what really makes people pause in the end, it sounds like. We'll see what happens. I hope you're able to find some enjoyment or ideas for how you integrate the changes that you're happy with!

Hello Deborah! Greetings from Dallas, Texas!! I caught your videos on a shoutout from Pam at Stitch New England and loved them!! You are very well-spoken and a delight! Am toying with the idea of going to the Stitch New England retreat but don’t know whether or not I’ll be able to afford it. I’m going to the Stitch North retreat in April in Toronto hosted by Caroline at Evertote, so my stitchy $$$ are tied up there. Are you familiar with them? Would love to meet you so if not this year then next! Keep up the good work!!

Hi Michael! That's so kind of you to say, thank you! I did see the announcement about Stitch North and gave it some thought. I do love getting up to Toronto, but that's a hard time of year for me to get away from work, so I'll have to save that one for another time. If you do decide on Stitch New England we'll have to say hello - and if not, another time!

Love all your projects. Can you let me know where you found the Baby Yoda and Mandalorian pattern?

Thank you! It's the "Mando and Baby Alien" pattern by Stitcharea on Etsy. You'll see I made a few changes. 😁

🎉Hooray! Flosstube #2 🎉 Random thoughts: No such thing as “too many project bags”. Sweet spoiled cats make life worth living (we have five). Star Trek > Star Wars. If I did a flosstube, it would be just like yours. I love moving from 40/36 count to 32/28 count to give my eyes a rest. You can do it. 36ct is lovely ♥️ I will work on a large project and littles in between to have a feeling of accomplishment. Thanks for the tips on looking at finishing abandoned WIPs. I have a few a may finish in a different way since hearing your ideas.

Hurrah! I love all of your random thoughts -- thank you for sharing! And I appreciate hearing that you both switch back and forth between higher and lower count fabrics and bigger and smaller projects. The latter seems to be working well for me at the moment, so I hope I can keep it up. And I suspect I won't hold out on 36 count much longer ... And I'm so happy to hear you've thought of a few new finish ideas!
