Recently I have an itch to go back to the game. But after watching this video, the itch is scratched. The crystal tech was the final straw. It made me realize that no matter how much I spend, it’s never gonna be enough. This game is an abysmal blackhole that sucked away all my time for three years and almost $1000. I am glad I watched this video and read this comment, I just downloaded the game again for some reason and was about to spend to push T5, but it is never ending spending even after that, nope, uninstalled.
I have returned to the game after 2 years hiatus, and honestly, that $20 on crystals that Chisgule has shown is what honestly what made it a level playing field between low and high spenders in open field combat. So not sure what you are referring to. $20 for every 3 months is certainly not F2P, but certainly a low spender account, especially if compared with how spending used to be several years ago in kvk

Let me tell you more about how to spend. If you do, just buy 1 Lucerne scroll per month or whatever the timing is. From there invest in WSG, Hera, QB, Zenobia, ZL and all the commanders that can chain barbs. During KVK, don't do open field fights. Just protect towers or reinforce rally. Spend universals on barb chaining heroes and that's gonna be it. You'll get a huge army in no time (because of extra resources, gems and speedups), you'll have expertised some great commanders, you'll support your kingdom significantly. Thank me later. Bb

Nobody should spend any money on ROK. As long as u only have time in the game u can uninstall and pick a better game at any time. The problem is new players can never catch older players. Crystal tech is the biggest waste. I am not a Lilith apologist. Any money u spend will force u to spend more money later to justify the first expenditure. Pass on this game and spend ur money on ur family or wardrobe. important things.
There’s a reason why there are so many guides for spending. It helps you to effectively spend on this game. I think the most useful expenditure strategy is low-mid spending (€50-200/month), it is what I do. I have lots of money left over to do things I want like eat out and spend time with friends and family. Everyone has a very different financial situation, I just happen to be fortunate enough to have enough room for spending on a mobile game.
I quit after S3, not interested in crystal tech. The requirement for spending has gotten higher since I quit years ago so I'm glad I quit. The game is still fun to watch though, so that's what we're here for eh?

Well, technically it's not throwing away since all this money spent on crystal tech bundles gives you not just crystals but also 1) gems 2) other stuff in the bundles 3) crystal is converted to coins which you spend to buy legendary materials, blueprints, city skins, gold heads etc in the kvk shop. The value of those is quite high and they're not lost. The coins are not lost either, you can save them for the next kvk
Essentially though yes, you're right. It's a $400 quarterly batle pass on top of the $10 lucerne scrolls (monthly batle pass). Plus you should be getting the monthly gem bundle. So it's $150/month to play this game IF you don't get too competitive and whale out. Which most do at some stage.
