    I always feel that this kind of cool down help is like a bandaid instead of a solution. My 2004 EG used to run very hot and what I did is increase the flow of cool air to the engine. Did that with a 2" tanklift and deflectors to redirect and improve the airflow over the engine. That workt great and also improved the buffeting behind the batwing.
    Also a new camplate and improved oil pump helpt alot. Was planning to install a oilcooler but as it looks now is not needed anymore.

    I bet that makes it real fun trying to check the oil with it being right over the top of it?

      The stock dipstick isn't too bad, but now that I have the Feuling vented dipstick it is a little more tricky.

    Thanks for making this video. I have been thinking about getting one, but from what i've read I was rather discouraged. You have changed my mind about getting one. I have a 2020 tri Glide.
    I think now I will try one. They look kinda complicated to install with the switch on the dashboard. Maybe I should just have the shop do it. What's your thought?

    • @apgapcruiser2687
      @apgapcruiser2687  3 года назад

      I’m glad it was helpful. I feel like seeing it work helps make the decision. I had mine installed at the dealership because I didn’t want to do the switch on the dash. It’s not terribly hard, it’s just time consuming and annoying to get in behind there. I would probably decide based off your skill level and confidence in your local shop. If you trust the shop will do a good job, it’s a lot easier to just have them spend an hour and take care of it.

      @@apgapcruiser2687 I been doing my own work on bikes forever. Now that I am retired and actually have a bit more cash, I've been having the shop do all my work on the accessories put on this 2020 Tri glide. I will have them do this also. The switch part is what I was concerned about also. Thanks again.

    For instal it's need to buy some cable or other things from HD or hardware store?

    • @apgapcruiser2687
      @apgapcruiser2687  2 года назад

      I had the dealer install it, but yes. You will need to get the switch to go in the dash and the wiring harness for that.

    I have a 1999 ultra classic with a Gladiator trike kit, the heat on the back of my legs is almost unbearable, its like the heat has no where to go. Would this help . Thinking of cutting some vents or something, anything.

    • @apgapcruiser2687
      @apgapcruiser2687  3 года назад

      There’s a good chance it might. I’m not familiar with those trike conversions, but if you can see the ground when you look behind your rear cylinder and by your exhaust it should have a place to send the air.

    Hi. We recently installed the cool flow fan on our 2020 Road Glide Special. Is the red security light supposed to come on when the fan is actually running? We have ran the fan on both “on” and “auto” and during the ride the red security light goes off and on - believe it is on when the fan is running. The dealership that installed it for us didn’t seem to know.

    • @apgapcruiser2687

      My security light does not come on regardless of the mode selected. Sounds like there is an issue somewhere.

      I believe when the security light goes on while riding it means its throwing error codes. You can google how to look at your error codes and clear them . www.thunder-max.com/techdocs/HarleyDiagCodes.pdf this nay help, there are also a lot you RUclips videos showing how to look them up.

    Does it go on 2020 softail models as well?

    • @apgapcruiser2687
      @apgapcruiser2687  2 года назад +1

      Honestly, I’m not sure if they have them for softails. You would have to look in the catalog.

    I have a 2020 Street Glide Special. What is the part # for your air deflectors? The only ones I can find on the HD website says they are not compatible with the cool flow fan.

    • @apgapcruiser2687
      @apgapcruiser2687  3 года назад

      I tried looking through my receipts, but the don’t have part numbers on them. They were the only deflectors available at the time. I’m sorry I can’t help you more. I would get a hold of a dealership and ask them.

      Haha. You’re not wrong. I have had some metric cruisers blow some pretty hot air from the radiator on me. Design is very important.
