This is great! In 2015 there was a big horse show at Westworld, and the Phoenix Open; both just behind this airport; and the Super Bowl all in one weekend. Scottsdale airport was jammed with private jets! The plane spotting was amazing from Westworld; so were the parties!
Sounds like a hell of a weekend! We may get another packed weekend like that next year when the Super Bowl is in town again, along with what is now the biggest party in sports, the Phoenix Open.
Thats right! I read that it's the first business jet to feature those engines. Tried to emphasis the sound a bit on those reverse thrusters so glad it came though.
It seems all PWA makes are military and small biz jet type engines. I worked there a few year in the late 70s doing assembly on JT8s and JT9s. It was a good job and I did well at it but it wasn’t for me. Funny thing is that a few years later I was flying as a passenger in jets that I probably worked on the engines as we saw the build code as ASA and the company was mainly in just Alaska back then. I would fly to work for a few weeks then fly home. I had jobs years later that took me in everything from Beavers on floats to Cessna 560 to get me to job sites. Also had enough helicopter rides to be sick of it. A life like that is pretty common here. I’d meet other trades sometimes and at the airports there is always someone with tool boxes Haven’t flown in 8 years.
Incredible. Thank you for sharing that Chris! I feel like working on engines would be a lot of fun! I've definitely have considered becoming an aviation maintenance technician.
@@HometownPilot After I left the factory and moved North I worked in electronics and communications all over the state including the pipeline and oilfield. That’s where I flew on all kinds of planes and helicopters being delivered to communications site some on mountain top and have been flown to drill ships and oil platforms. Even worked an FAA contract all over and Anchorage Canter (ZAN) I was US Navy trained as an avionics tech on P-3 Orions. I’m retired now.
Your videos never cease to impress me, maybe it's just because I much prefer private aircraft vs commercial, but the info you give with each one shows you are dedicated to producing amazing videos. Well done. Also nice Gulf G500 8:01, the 31st produced and they kept that flare for a bit too
Wow, I really appreciate you saying that! I prefer private over commercial too due to the diversity between jets. The funny thing with that G500 is i've been trying to capture her for months and always missed her. Happened to be one of the final jets to come in while I was out there. As always, thank you for watching, ThinkingAi!
I love this channel, one of my favorites on here. I use these as motivation on one of my monitors while studying for a type rating and It works really well! I can't wait to see more content.
I read somewhere that during to week of the pga tournament, Scottsdale airport was number 4 in business jet departures in the world! I thought that was crazy.
@@HometownPilot I grew up in Mesa, I spent many hours working and watching airplanes at Falcon field. I now live in Marco island Florida. Long ways away from home.

Where do you sit when plane spotting because I live 3 min from Scottsdale Airport and I can see all the planes take off but I just wanted too know because I am going plane spotting tomorrow at Scottsdale airport!
There are two spots I use - one is behind the Studio41 distribution warehouse on 79th Pl (west side of runway) and the other is behind the MistAmerica Corp building on 83rd way (east side of runway). I will caution you to avoid the Studio41 location during the week as they will tell you to leave during business hours. I've never been bothered when spotting behind MistAmerica. Happy spotting!
Scottsdale has a Cirrus Service Center so there are a lot of Visions flying around. I will be sure to include more in the future. Also, big fan of the Legacy series. Thanks for watching Saulo!
How could you not love seeing these beauties fly in and out every day! ? Just checked out some of your videos on your channel, you should start posting flying videos again!
Sitting out by the pool in North Scottsdale that weekend and watching a departure what must have been every 30 seconds for over 2 hours straight. Ditto after the Barrett Jackson auction. It was nuts.

Thanks Foxxray! I picked the 12 best business jets from the evening but I had another 40 or so aircraft. It was insanely busy for the 2 hours I was out there.
So weird watching this, most all these tails I recognize as being at my FBO I work for earlier this week. I wasn’t paying too much attention, but I imagine most of them probably came to SDL from my FBO.
I love the fact that you include aircraft information and flight details at the bottom of the screen. I’m assuming you use a flight tracking app like Flightradar24 or FlightAware? What’s your favorite app for tracking?
I will say, even though it was extremely busy during the weekend, I think Oshkosh still holds the title. Hoping to get out there soon to shoot. Thanks for watching Genda!
The spot I filmed this is somewhat of a secret spot located by the warehouses around the runway. However, I recommend checking out Volanti, they have an observation deck that has a great view of jets taking off as well as activity on the ramp.
Usually, the operating rate is about half of what the charter rate is. So if the charter rate is $5K/hr its usually $2,500/hr to operate (including pilot, fuel, etc.). The extra profits go towards plane maintenance and running the company.
Hey just out of curiosity, I’d love to know what your Crown Jewels, your Easter eggs of private aircraft you look for are?? I think it’d be a great content incentive for me and your followers to know and to keep up with. Just thumb nail an Easter egg and I’d watch 100 times! Just sayin.
You can try flightaware.com and search the tail number to see the registration. However, most of the time, you will find that a bank or some random LLC owns it.
Ha! There were balloons & banner tows all around the airport since the golf course where the tournament is happening is right new the airport. It was a pretty crazy scene.
Perfect audio, perfect video, clear radio comms, and interesting stats for every plane. Can’t believe I just found this channel!
