  • Iceriver KS0 Pro Kaspa ASIC overclocks! How to optimize and testing results! Today I overclocked my Iceriver KS0 Pro! It took a few attempts to get it right, but it's easy if you watch this video THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH!
    Here are the exact products I use to overclock my KS0 Pro's to the max!! I have updated these links and they are now amazon affiliate links. I get a small commission if you use them at no extra cost to you and it helps support the channel! Thank you for watching!

    amzn.to/4cFcmXN
    Single AC Infinity AXIAL S1238, 120mm Muffin Fan with Speed Controller. This is an option if you don't plan to aggressively overclock. You could mount this fan to the shroud kit or the top of the KS0 Pro!

    So upgrading PSU about $50, Firmware upgrade about $70 worth of Kaspa....so from an economic perspective you are $120 more in the red. Then time to mod, remove panels as well as adding extra fan $20. So pretty much you are looking at roughly a $150 investment to increase hash rate by 26 to 30%. That is assuming single fan, looks like to get to 283 hashes you added two extra fans. I bought a KSO pro from Ice River form just under $500 a few weeks ago. Purchased 4 others for roughly $600 around the same time but those came in already and have been mining already. Still waiting for the Ice River shipment to come in. I think the issue comes down to ROI. I am questioning if it would be just more economical to purchase another KSO pro for $500, not need to add any fans, remove panels, flash firmware and not run the hardware beyond its factory settings which could shorten its life span. Have not even looked at efficiency of watts to hash yet.

      All good points. 30 watts for an extra 85 gigahash doesn't seem too bad. I already had the fans and power supply sitting around. So it really depends on your situation. If you have to buy all of the stuff brand new, then maybe it makes more sense to just get another KS0 Pro. Edited to clarify: I had the 180 watt power supply already. The 240 watt PSU is only necessary for potential future overclocks to 360gh

      I think a lot of ROI will also be greatly effected by Kaspa price. If the price starts to climb it will offset the additional machines coming online as keep the ROI for the KSO pro reasonable. Right now I am uncertain if the KSO pro will actually break even this year. As for the firmware upgrade, yet always good to tweak a bit more juice out of a rig....if I was able to buy the firmware and upgrade all 5 of my KS0's then it would be definitely worth it. I might sit back and see if someone develops a firmware upgrade that is less expensive or even free. I get the capitalism to make money....but the businessman side of me says uhh pump brakes see what Kaspa does over the next few weeks!

    a lot would not tell folks that the orginal 180 break works with no issues on the kso pro overclock i thought that was the case but only you confirmed it! thank you

      No problem! Yeah I don't want people to have to buy extra parts if they don't need them, because that extends ROI time out!

    Great video. Yes. Side panels need to come off w external AC fan blowing. I’m seeing 300GH to 330GH on my end. Have 230 PSU and external AC fan cooling it. Can’t complain!
    But boy. Taking some screws off panels. Pain in ass!!

      @GreaterGoodMining  9 месяцев назад

      Man that's awesome you're getting 300 to 330gh! I'll probably be ordering another Axial 1238 to keep it cool 😎 I'm getting about 290gh but I'm wondering if I can eek some more hashrate out of it if I can get the temps down more

    Why is there no free overclocks like there was for the KSO? I not going to disassemble just to over clock and would rather not pay for overclock either.

    • @GreaterGoodMining
      @GreaterGoodMining  9 месяцев назад

      The Ks3 and the KS0 Pro took a lot of effort to get overclocks completed by the dev team. If you mine crypto, chances are you're paying a dev a fee

    Is it 600 KAS Per Machine? I have 3 KS0 Pro's. Would he just give me one firmware and I can use it for all three machines?

    • @GreaterGoodMining
      @GreaterGoodMining  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes it's 600 Kaspa per machine. The overclock is custom made for each machine and linked to its mac address

    GGM awesome 👏 content brother, for some reason I thought you had the 360Gh firmware? Guest it was RPM? I wonder if you can swap the top of the KS0 Pro with the KS0 that has more vent holes.

    • @fullyelectric

      BTW I am so very happy you did a 30min test anything less is not as useful, the longer the better plus you get to see the 30min avg. within the dashboard very smart and thank you!

      I was thinking about swapping the shells around like you said that's a good idea. I havnt tried the 360gh yet. Seems like my KS0 Pro didn't like the 280 oc so I wonder how it would handle more aggressive overclocks

      It depends on your situation. I plan to HODL so i want as much hashrate as I can get right now. The network hashrate has more than doubled in about a month. That is what concerns me the most. Rewards have been cut in half
